Viola

Keep calling, Viola, Cuz here I come.

My head jolted up. Was that... his noise?

"Todd?" I asked, putting down his mother's journal.

His head, framed by his sandy locks, was still. a strand of my own hair, a darker shade of blond to his, fell in front of my face. I brushed it away, and glanced in the nearby mirror.

My chocolate coloured eyes met my reflections, and they both showed hope, pain and worry. I'd just heard his noise for the first time in weeks.

"Viola? Are you there?"

I stared straight at the bed just as his bottle green eyes opened - and he was alive. Todd flipping Hewitt was ALIVE.

"Todd," I whispered, "Finally."

And his eyes widened as everything rushed back to him like a flood.

"VIOLA!" he yelled, and jumped out of bed. I met his embrace, and broke apart.

"We have to tell the others! I shrieked, and grinned at him. Then, he took in a quick breath and I stopped smiling.

"Todd? What's-"

And he leaned forward, arms around me. his lips met mine and I swear, the whole world stopped. All I could hear was; Viola Viola Viola Viola Viola Viola Viola Viola Viola Viola Viola and I smiled against our second kiss. The first was in the tent ages ago. Before he was shot, that is. Then, I heard voices. Lee and Wilf.

"I'll tell them," I whispered, "you wait here."

And I left the room.

Todd

I heard muffled voices, sounding distressed, hopeful and many other degrees of emotion. I remembered who Lee an' Wilf were just as Viola whispered joyfully; "He's awake."

Then, I opened the door, and All the others cried out in shock. Bradley smiled.

"Hey, Todd. Been out for a while, huh?"

Then the door at the end of the corridor opened aswell, and Ben, my Dad, Ben, BEN, opened the door, and stopped, staring at me.

Todd, he thought. Todd, Todd, Todd.

I ran to his and was captured in his warm embrace, smiling and glad that I had Ben and Viola, I had my noise back, and, oh, I was so happy.

Then, two words floated into my head, female and detached from her body.

Todd's alive, Viola thought.

An' I could hear her.
