Whoops. Well would you look at that. A whole-ass year. Imagine that. Now, don't worry, this story isn't abandoned. I've actually been working on rewriting old chapters!
So, what can you guys expect? I've been pulling previous chapters away from the main storyline, and I'm getting rid of all the word-for-word dialogue. I barely remember anything anyway, so it works out.
I'm adding segments. Not much, mind you, just pieces to bridge plot gaps. There'll be an extra little chunk at the beginning of every chapter too!
For that matter, the chapters will generally be longer. There's likely not gonna be 33 of them by the time I finish. (All the content will still be there, don't worry! It'll just be pulled into one longer segment rather than like. Fifteen short ones.
Natsu's characterization will be more consistent. For that matter, so will everyone else's!
I'm changing what Erza's armour looks like. It's always bugged me anyway, so might as well get that out of the way.
Finally, the Phantom Lord arc. Oh, the Phantom Lord arc. What have I done to you. No spoilers, but I'm taking it down a wildly different route.
I've rewritten two chapters so far, though with the length of the og chapters in mind, that's more around four.
With that said and done, apparently it's illegal to make updates that are just Authors Notes, so have a snippet of what I've rewritten!
(Edit: to the concerned guest reader: no, this story isnt abandoned! im just working through a lot of stuff irl at the moment (i watched my dad die is that fucked up or what). The second chapter has already been updated, theres just a hop in time. if you want to know how the restaurant scene plays out, they chat a bit about the weather, they pay, and go their separate ways. Not exactly thrilling, mmm? anyway, i appreciate your concerns! chapter 3 is in progress!)
Happy landed on the ground next to her, managing to look defensive with a cod clutched in his little paws. "You jerk! Watch where you're going!" He warned, before the smell of fish fully registered and he couldn't resist a small bite.
The stranger, whoever he was, laughed lightly. "Of course! My apologies. You are?"
Lucy quit rubbing her forehead when she realized he was addressing her, and gave her head a brief shake before responding in kind. "My name is Lucy, and it's really my fault, I should have been... pink hair?"
The boy across from her on the ground picked himself up, before responding, all while holding out a hand to help her up. "You should have been pink hair?"
"Oh! No, no, sorry, it's just your hair is pink and I was... sorry." Lucy fought back the blush emerging on her cheeks, and accepted the hand up.
"Really, its no big deal," the stranger insisted, a smile tugging at his lips that somehow didn't seem all that genuine. "I do feel bad though, how about I buy you a meal at a restaurant around here?"
