The Green Flu...
A new mutated strain of rabies. It damages the brain of the infected, increasing rage of a person at an alarming rate. The worst part is, the infected won't feel any emotions or any memories. All they know is to kill, infect, spread out, repeat.
It started out with a stray dog biting a random person. This man was then brought to the hospital because he was reported to be vomiting, skin turning pale, foaming in the mouth, and... Attacking someone.
Sending him to the hospital wasn't enough. Due to his behavior, they quarantined him. The government soon learned about this and ordered that the patient be sent to the W.H.O to study "it" carfully.
But during transfer, it escaped.
The news arrived 2 days later to the government, but it was too late.
The news showed an entire city, in complete chaos. Buildings were buring, cars were crashing into everything, and people running around being chased by... Infected. It was astounding, yet terrifying how one infected could spread the virus so fast.
Orders were given to the military to bomb the entire city, which was a success. Or so they thought. Hordes of infected escaped and spread the virus, infecting towns and cities. They finally informed the whole of the northern states.
"We have been recieving reports of entire cities being overtaken by the Green Flu. The military say they are doing their best to quarantine the infected cities to prevent further spreading. Survivors are informed that evacuation centers will be anounced depending where they are. Other nearby cities or towns are instructed to stay in doors, barricade your homes, and find any usable weapon. Reasoning with the infected is impossible, so avoid any kind of contact with infected individuals. Do not go outside unless absolutely necessary."
That was the last news report ever broadcasted from up north.
The virus was spreding, FAST. Not only was it up north, but it was starting to spread south, west, east, everywhere! The whole of united states was completely overrun in a month. Thankfully, it hasn't spread globally. That was the only good news out of all the sh!t that was going on. There were still small reports of communities or nomads of survivors, but most losing connection in a week or so.
Once, a population of millions, now, only less than a thousand escape.
Now, it started to make its way towards the nearby countries, still with active airlines.
The global pandemic, has begun.
