Tears, idle tears, I know not what they mean,
Tears from the depths of some divine despair
Rise in the heart, and gather to the eyes,
In looking on the happy autumn fields,
And thinking of the days that are no more.

-Tennyson

Chapter one:

I sighed and looked at my reflection in the foggy mirror. I stared into my own gray, light blue eyes and sighed once more before looking down at the sink and turning on the cold water to splash on to my face. It had been a long day at practice and the small after party we always had. Tomorrow was the most important game of my Quidditch career and despite all else, I was nervous.

I stepped out of my pristine white and black bathroom and allowed the steam to gently roll out into my black bedroom. The dim lighting allowed me easily to look out the floor to ceiling windows that let me look out at the London skyline at night time. The dim glows from distant buildings kept my attention for a moment before I looked over at the girl who sat on my bed.

She wore one of my business shirts, although it was much too large for her. She wore it loosely and had her head looking down to where her hair hid her face from me. I was just glad Pansy had grown her hair out, it suited her better. It was my favorite whenever she would wear my clothes honestly, as pathetic as I sound when she wore my shirts it just did something to me.

"Do stop staring, Draco." She said as she flipped the page on her magazine she had picked up earlier today, I mostly bought it for her just because my face was on it. I smirked at her, and with only a towel wrapped around my hips, and slowly walked to the bed and crawled on to my hands and knees to her. I stalked up to her like a lion hunting their prey. She put down the magazine and looked over at me, slightly annoyed, slightly aroused.

I smiled and kept going towards her, "What do you say, Perkins?" I whispered as I got up her face and our noses touched, "Say round two for good luck?" I asked as our lips touched, she only sighed but a happy sigh, before she took the towel off of my hips, leaving me bare naked, and she leaned backwards on to the king sized black satin bed.

Of course it was storming today. Stormy games were always the hardest to play in, and of course it would be when I was being scouted for another team that would pay much more. It was half time and we were meeting in our room, Jones had a bloody nose, Rob looked like he had two black eyes, Zabini had been hit in the chest and had trouble breathing, most likely deeply bruised. That'd happened to me once, couldn't properly breathe right for weeks, sex was miserable honestly.

Half of our team was worn out, beaten, and exhausted plus the game was tied, I was just ready for it to be over with. To go have dinner with Pansy, to know if I would be picked up for the other higher paid team, to just have things go good.

"Alright, get out there boys and play your heart out. It's been a hell of a season." Coach said as he stood and dismissed us all back out to the field. He was right, it had been a hell of a season, a season of being undefeated, this game was the closest we'd ever been to losing, and I'd be damned if it happened.

Our brooms went up off the ground and we were up in the air, everyone getting soaking wet from the rain, thundering going on around us, half was the roaring crowds the other half was actual thunder in the sky. Players zipped by at lightning fast speeds as I sat there and looked for the one thing I was supposed to find, the golden snitch. However, it was difficult to locate in stormy weather. I was highest up and looking straight down at the field keeping my eyes open and alert.

Although, I guess I wasn't paying enough of attention to things I should have. I heard the crowd scream and I saw everyone stop flying and look up. I saw the flash of bright light flashed all around me and I instantly felt myself grip my broom.

When the flash stopped my grip was lost and I rolled off of my broom, there was nothing I could have done, I couldn't move. All I knew was I was falling and falling fast and then, everything went black.
