Note: Sorry for the delay on this one. It took longer for me to start writing it than I initially planned.

The ZDP and members of Petrov's criminal organization were now in a fire fight seemingly organized by the lynx who was now under fire himself. His only ally was trapped in the car and the only mammals who could help him obviously wasn't too fond of him.

Nick and Judy who stood behind a large crate to his left were armed only with small tasers. Nick knew that they would not be able to stay here and that the other mammals would come closer if they didn't find a way to fight back. He needed to think of a plan and fast.

He looked all around him as several bullets flew overhead and with some hitting the crate. Thankfully they were made out metal and most likely had something inside as well to help block any incoming fire. It was almost as if this whole situation was planned out from the start.

Nick looked over at Greg who was digging through a bag on the floor, probably placed there before hand. The lynx took out a pistol that was just a little bigger than a mammal his size would be comfortable with. He held it with both paws and turned his attention to the two wolves approaching them.

This confirmed Nick's suspicions that all this was supposed to happen, except maybe for Natasha getting stuck in the SUV. No wonder he was so insistent on getting her out of it. However, it did appear as if she hasn't been noticed yet.

He turned to his partner. "Any bright ideas, Judy?"

"Get out of here," she said as she covered her ears with her paws.

Nick heard two shots come from his right and looked over at Greg who took cover again as several rounds flew by him, some of which hitting the metal crate. He heard one of the wolves' scream in pain.

"The bastard got me in the leg!" The wolf said as he fell to the floor and tried to crawl to a safer position.

Nick furrowed his brow. "What the hell is your plan here!?"

Greg fired another shot and then looked at Nick. "You want me to explain my grand plan or get out of here with zero bullet holes?"

Nick growled and bared his teeth, but at the same time he knew that now wasn't the best time to have a conversation. His eyes suddenly widened in realization. "Hey Carrots, you remember how we came in last time?"

Judy blinked as she thought for a moment and looked over to her left. "The back door."

"Exactly! Make sure it's unlocked and tell Bogo we got a way in for him. I'll keep an eye on this one," he said and pointed a thumb at Greg who fired off yet another shot.

Judy nodded and made her way to the back door. The sound of shattering glass came from the SUV which caught Nick's attention.

"Posmotrite, chto u nas yest'(Look what we have here)," one of the wolves' said as he opened the back door.

"YA pomnyu etot(I remember this one)." He attempted to get the paw-cuffed snow leopard out of the vehicle, but she had no intention of getting out as she attempted to kick back.

The wolf pointed his weapon at her. "Popytaytes' snova pinat' menya, i ya budu strelyat' v vas (Try to kick me again and I'll shoot you in your legs)!"

"This one wouldn't happen to be important to you, huh?" a polar bear said. "Maybe we try and break a few bones and see who screams first. Or maybe you could just come out now and we can discuss this like gentlemammals.

At this point most of the shooting died down between the ZPD and Petrov's crew. "Boss, they stopped shooting. I think they might be calling in a SWAT team."

"Just be sure to keep them outside," the polar bear said. Greg was breathing heavily and looked over at Nick who shook his head and mouth "NO".

"The ZPD is right outside. I don't see how you plan on getting away."

"We have leverage now, but whether or not she is wounded is up to you," the polar bear said as the wolf managed to get her out of the SUV.

"What guarantee do we have that you won't hurt her regardless?" Nick said in an attempt to stall for time.

"It would only complicate things if we do. ZPD won't take kindly to hurting hostages, but it is a complication we are willing to face," he said and took a step closer. "Time to make a choice little lynx."

Greg bit his lower lip and looked down at the ground. He then took a curled up piece of paper out of his pocket and tossed it over to Nick. "Never say I'm not a mammal of my words."

Nick raised an eyebrow and opened it. On the paper was a location, one that he immediately recognized. Nick looked over at Greg who was now climbing up the crates till he got to the top. He was now just above the polar bear. The sound of the ZPD coming in through the back door was heard and Nick could see a grin form on the Lynx's face. He knew he couldn't let Greg get away.

The other officers took cover behind the crates. "We've got you surrounded. Put your weapons down and your paws in the air."

Nick took this opportunity to climb up the crates as well in pursuit of Greg who was now making his way up to the upper floor. The lynx reached the railing that had a rope tied around it. He picked up a couple of smoke grenades nearby and dropped them in the middle of the room where Petrov's mammals were standing. He then loosened the rope to allow the other end that was tied to a small sandbag fall down to the floor. He grabbed the rope just as the sandbag reached the bottom and nearly lost his footing in the process.

There was a mass of confusion at the bottom with mammals coughing and shouting from both sides. Natasha then elbowed the confused wolf holding on to her in the stomach. He released her and grunted. She grabbed onto the rope and started to climb as fast as she could.

"She's getting away!" the muskox said.

At this point Nick reached Greg and pointed his taser at the lynx who was in no position to defend himself. Greg had a look of worry in his eyes.

"Surrender or I'll shoot!" Nick warned.

Greg looked over at Natasha who was struggling a bit due to her movement being constrained by her cuffs. He swallowed hard and let go of the rope. "I'm sorry!"

Greg jumped back just about missing a shot from Nick. Meanwhile Natasha fell down and landed on her feet. The smoke had greatly reduced visibility and she used this to sneak past.

The lynx hastily got to his feet and ran towards the large windows on the other side. Greg came up to another rope at the back of the building that was tied to a pole and led out a window and down the building. He made his way down as Nick approached him.

"He had a whole exit strategy planned," Nick noted.

Nick followed him down to the bottom. Once they got down Greg tried to get into a car only to barely miss another shot from Nick. The darts hit the car door as he fell down and hurriedly crawled under the car. He crawled all the way to the other side and continued his attempt to get away with Nick gaining on him.

Greg ran on to the street and up to a white van on the other side. However, just before he could reach it he was shot in the back by one of the darts and face planted on the street.

"I got you now!" Nick said and pinned him down. "You didn't really think you could get away from me, did you?"

Nick paw-cuffed him and helped him to his feet. He looked at him straight in the eyes. "Is the location you gave me what I think it is?"

"We all need to face our demons at some point," the lynx grinned. "I have evidence you did it. Your past activities at the harbor is not as secret as you'd like them to be."

Nick's eyes opened wide in shock. "You're bluffing!"

"Is that a risk you're willing to take? I came into this prepared, Nick. Did you?" Greg said with hint of desperation in his voice.

Nick didn't respond and instead looked down in shame.

"Let me go and no one will ever hear a word of it." Greg assured him.

"It was an accident. I didn't know it would do that," Nick said in his defense.

"You wanna tell that to the judge?" Greg said.

Nick gritted his teeth and grabbed him by the collar. "If you hadn't taken my mom maybe that would have worked. You can tell the whole world if you want to and hope we don't end up in the same cell."

Greg's smile vanished in an instant as Nick pushed him forward and led him back to the warehouse. Inside the van by the pedals at the driver's seat Finnick sat curled up. He listened carefully as the sound of the footsteps got further away and let out a sigh of relief.

"That was a close one," he whispered to himself.

Nick reached the other officers and Judy was the first one to notice him. "Nick! You caught him!"

"Sure did fluff," Nick said with a smug look. "He didn't even put up a fight."

Judy furrowed her brow at Greg and pointed an accusing finger at him. "You better tell us what you did with Nick's mother or-."

"He did," Nick interrupted with a saddened.

"Nick, what's wrong?" Judy said as her ears fell behind her back.

"We should probably get moving," he said with a small smile.

"Officer Wilde, I see you apprehended the mammal we were after," chief Bogo said as he walked up to them.

"Just doing my job chief," the fox said smugly.

"We've managed to catch the others as well, including Natasha that nearly got passed us," he informed them.

Greg's ears fell back after hearing that.

"Now all that's left is finding your mother,"

"About that, I have a location. If you don't mind chief, I'd like to go there," Nick said.

"How sure are you that it isn't a false location or another trap?" chief Bogo said with a raised eyebrow.

"I'm pretty sure. Besides, I got officer fuzzy tail over here as back up," Nick said gesturing at Judy who narrowed her eyes at him.

"After the tricks this mammal pulled I'm not taking the risk of sending you two in without assistance," chief Bogo said as he pointed at Greg.

"Sometimes motivation gives you the craziest ideas," Greg said with a half-hearted chuckle.

"I'll take him from here. Get two other officers to go with you," chief Bogo said and walked off with Greg. "You have the right to remain silent…"

His voice trailed off and Nick looked at Judy. "Come on, if we leave now chief buffalo-butt won't notice."

"Nick, what are you not telling me?" Judy said.

"I'll tell you on the way."
