Hi! It's been what, 2 years since I posted this story. I haven't read this for quite some time, and so I totally forgot the majority of what happened in this story. But when I checked my email yesterday, I got an email notification for a review on this story. This user mentioned that they were confused about the ending, and I remembered that a lot of readers too got confused with it. So I decided to write this author's note and explain why just to settle things once and for all.

Explanation: The second to the last part, where Percy was sitting and thinking about the weight on his ring finger, was a future scene. In this scene, he got divorced and he feels like a burden has been lifted off him. And then, a girl with golden blond curls and silver star eyes (which we all know is Annabeth) joins him, and he remembers his promise to remember her.

But then the last sentence ruins it because it meant that he was just dreaming the scene where he meets Annabeth again after getting divorced. Which leads us to the title of the song that inspired this story, Wildest Dreams. All the good things about being with Annabeth, marrying her, were all part of his wildest dreams. :(

xx

Okay, so I just realized that this was really sad. I really liked writing sad and angsty stories back then. Anyway, I'm planning to write a new multi-chapter story (I wanted it to be a one-shot, but it can't just happen), so I guess stay tuned? I don't know when I'll write it, or even if I will be able to write it, but please support me, I guess. It's set in a royalty au with bits of selection au, and i'm really excited to write it. Anyway, enough ranting, bye!
