I do not own Hetalia or Les Miserables.

It was after Christmas in the year 2012. All the nations were gathering in London for the final meeting of the year. Britain, wanting to do something nice for the other nations, tried to make sugar cookies with crushed peppermints on top. However, his snowmen came out looking like dead men with the red oozing everywhere. Nevertheless, they were not burnt and that was the most important thing.

Britain and Sealand arrived early to the meeting and waited for the others to join them. Once all the nations were there, and Sealand over by the Nordics, Germany was about to start the meeting when they noticed that America was not smiling like she usually did.

"America, are you feeling alright?" England asked.

America looked at Britain and alarm bells went off in his brain as he saw her eyes fill with tears.

"Love?"

"Did you see them going off to fight?"

What? Why was she singing? Then her sister Canadia or Canada? sang too.

"Children of the barricade who didn't last the night?"

England locked eyes with Prussia and knew the same thought was going through their heads. What in the name of Gallifrey was going on?

"Did you see them lying where they died? Someone used to cradle them and kiss them when they cried."

Now Hungary was in on this?

"Did you see them lying side by side?" Greece woke up from her nap long enough to sing that.

"Who will wake them?" Wy asked. Australia and New Zealand must have brought her.

"No one ever will. No one ever told them that a summer day can kill." Finland answered.

Sweden and Sealand were looking at Finland like she was replaced by an alien.

"They were schoolboys, never held a gun. Fighting for a new world that would rise up like the sun."

Even Norway?!

"Where's that new world now the fighting's done?" Belgium sang.

"Nothing changes, nothing ever will."

"Every year another brat, another mouth to fill."

Even the Italy and Romana were in on this? Oh, tea and scones, Spain has a nose bleed!

"Same old story, what's the use of tears? What's the use of praying if there's nobody who hears?" Seychelles can sing? Who knew?

Just then all the female nations sang together in one eerie harmony.

"Turning, turning, turning, turning, turning through the years."

Are they part of a cult or something?

"Turning, turning, turning through the years. Minutes into hours and the hours into years. Nothing changes, nothing ever can round and round the roundabout and back where you began! Round and round and back where you began!"

It was dead silent as the women and, in Wy's case, child left the meeting room.

The one to break the silence was Japan. "What the hell was that?"

"I have no idea." Germany said as the nations that were left agreed with him.

Meanwhile, France was sobbing in a corner.

"So, that was unexpected." Canada said.

"But fun." Norway added.

"Hey, as the hero, I just came up with a totally awesome idea! We should go see Les Miserables again." America voiced rather loudly.

"I'll bring the tissues because we didn't have any last time." Finland said as they passed a small store.

And so they watched the musical and they cried all over again.
