New story, since I'm done with one of my other stories, I think I'll start a new time travel one. Which is this one! :)
7/16/19: Hey y'all I'm gonna take the time to slowly proofread and edit all these old chapters before I start updating the new chapter. I may add extras or change some parts so do try and reread the old chapters once I update them.
Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto.
The past... the present... And the future
When their worlds collide, what would happen?
A budding cherry blossom ready to open up its petals...
A fully bloomed cherry blossom, in all its beauty...
A cherry blossom flying off in a shower of petals, waiting for the new generation to bloom...
Past
It was a crisp autumn day, sunlight streaked through the bright orange overhanging trees, and birds chirped cheerfully as a light breeze filtered through.
A young girl with cropped pink hair and a large forehead, walked down the dirt path. She grasped a basket full of herbs and medical supplies in her hands, ready for another grueling day with her shishou, the Sannin, Tsunade-sama.
As she ambled down the path, she caught the eye of a scroll merchant down the road. He beckoned her closer, "Young lady, filled with such beauty and potential, would you like to see your future written in this scroll?" She tilted her head curiously and asked "How much, sir?"
"Oh, no worries this one's on me. Such a beautiful girl like you should receive something as insignificant as my scrolls without a price." The merchant smiled and handed her a scroll wrapped with a yellowed parchment paper. She thanked him kindly and proceeded down the path.
Weighing the covered scroll in her hands, she eyed it with curiosity as she unwrapped the parchment paper, and inspected the scroll inside. It was beautifully crafted, a navy blue base color with cherry blossoms scattering the throughout the background. An inked hawk scrawled on the base of the scroll weaved through the endless petals.
Setting down her basket, she used her now free hand and gently unraveled the red printed end of the scroll. She blinked at the thick cream inside, squinting at the unknown runes written in it. Suddenly it started to glow as a vortex snapped open and dragged her through, blinding her with it's shining light.
The woven basket, sat unnoticed on the floor.
Present
A teenager with a crop of short pink hair and her large forehead already grown out, walked down the street with her best friend, the boisterous, loud blonde named Uzumaki Naruto. They were currently arguing
over who was going to pay for tonight's ramen dinner until she bumped into a merchant.
The very merchant that her past self bumped into.
"Oh, I am so sorry, sir!" She exclaimed and helped him up before picking up the scrolls that scattered around their feet. He thanked her "It's quite alright, it's just an accident. Thank you for picking up my scrolls, as a token of my thanks, here."
He handed her the same scroll once again and disappeared into the crowd. Curiously, she opened the scroll and just like her past self, she was sucked into a vortex and disappeared.
Witnessing it all, Naruto stood there gaping until he gathered his wits and rushed to the Hokage Tower, intent on informing Tsunade-sama.
Future
A beautiful pink haired woman stood on a stool, cleaning out the apartment. Her daughter, an onyx eyed young girl stood waiting for her to finish dusting off the shelves.
"Mama... are you done yet?" she asked impatiently, pushing up her red rimmed glasses irritably.
"Not yet Sarada-chan... oh wait, what's this?" The pink haired women pulled out yet again the same scroll, opening it to see it's contents. Like her two past selves, she too was sucked into the vortex, every trace of her gone.
Sarada stood there shellshocked before she rushed to the kitchen to call for her father.
She didn't realize that the scroll disappeared too.
Past
"Ow, that hurt..." Sakura muttered, rubbing her head and surveyed her surroundings. She was in the middle of the forest, close to a winding dirt path that was well worn, a clear sign that it was often used.
Scanning through what she had, she found her weapons case stocked and the ninja pouch she carried on her waist holding just her wallet and a scroll that was filled with herbs.
Luckily, she was wearing a cloak, it was right in the middle of autumn where the weather was beginning to get chilly in Konoha. She double checked her items one more time before proceeding to walk towards the dirt path, inspecting her surroundings to see if there was anything strange. Noticing nothing out of the sort, she summoned a little bit of chakra to her feet and lept onto the trees before bursting off into a sprint.
As she began to near the closest village, she hopped down onto the dirt path to continue her journey on land.
She stiffened when she heard the familiar tak, tak, tak of ninja sandals scraping the ground, pulling out a kunai and holding it in front of her, she turned around to face the intruder.
Her eyes widened when she saw a small group of older nins stop near her. There were 3 men and a red haired woman. The leader of the group looked extremely familiar, reminding her of her sorrowful past with her teammate, the second male had pale white hair and mischievous purple eyes, hefting up a very familiar sword, and the third male had a huge hulking figure but strangely gentle orange eyes and the same colored shock of spiky hair.
She backed away slowly, holding up her kunai up as she slid into a defensive form, cursing her luck, when the red haired woman suddenly opened her mouth and asked "Ne, Sasuke, why is there a genin by herself near a regular town?" Her mind froze when the red haired woman uttered the name Sasuke.
The white haired man shrugged and replied "Beats me, but she looks kinda cute, can we take her with us?" His face was immediately met with the haired woman's fist and his head burst into water, splashing onto the ground.
"Shut up Suigetsu, we're here to restock supplies, not kidnap little girls." She snapped, pushing her glasses up the bridge of her nose, "Isn't that right Sasuke?" She leaned closer to the raven haired teen, giving him a sugary smile.
Sakura cringed at the exchange, backing away from the group, ready to run for her life when Suigetsu, or whatever the red haired woman called him, called out, "Hey little girl, what's your name?"
She pushed away the uncomfortable feeling in her gut and replied bravely, "Why should I tell you, for all I know you could be a nuke nin." Suigetsu burst into laughter and he snorted between peals of laughter,
Ya hear that Sasuke, she can tell that we're nuke nin! HAH!"
Fear coursed through her veins when Suigetsu confirmed that they were indeed nuke nin. That was when the man named Sasuke stepped forward, "Care to explain why you look exactly like my genin teammate?" He asked coldly, staring her down impassively as his eyes spun into the frightening three tomoe Sharingan.
Sakura's mind reeled when she realized that she wasn't in her time anymore, she was in the future and God was playing some sick joke on her by making Sasuke go rogue.
Present
Sakura stood up and inspected her surroundings carefully. It seemed that she was on the roof of a house in a village that seemed to be technologically advanced. As she turned around to examine the shiny new signs and televisions, she gaped. A very familiar looming mountain of 7 faces stared down at her, except she only remembered there were 5 faces.
The two new faces etched on were eerily similar to her sensei and her blonde teammate and Sakura had a sinking feeling of where she was at.
Suddenly a young girl's voice yelled out from under her, "Papa! Mama's gone! She opened a scroll while cleaning and disappeared all of a sudden."
'That's what happened to me!' Sakura thought as she leapt down the roof and slowly climbed down the wall to eavesdrop the conversation, carefully masking her chakra.
"Where was she when she first disappeared?"
Sakura froze when she heard the familiar voice, there was no way Sasuke was back in village, but if her gut feeling was right the whole time, she must really be in the future.
"Who's there?" Sasuke demanded, whipping opening the balcony door to look out and apprehend the eavesdropper. Sakura could do nothing but stare blankly at the face of an adult Sasuke and his daughter.
"Uhhhh... ok, I'm just going to leave now, sorry for intruding sir!" Sakura stammered and leapt off the wall, breaking into a sprint as she landed on the ground and taking off.
"Wait!" Sarada cried out at the pink haired teen before she climbed off the balcony to follow. Sasuke sighed and closed the balcony door, following his daughter and the panicking pink haired kunoichi.
Sakura snaked through the crowds, ignoring the calls of the younger girl trailing behind her, quickly leaping into an alleyway to escape. 'Shit, shit, shit, way to go Sakura.' She berated herself as she lept up over a box, only to have a large hand grabbing her shoulder and pulling her down.
She slowly turned around to see the face of Sasuke grimly staring at her. In her panicked state, she automatically threw a punch at his face in a desperate attempt to escape.
The older Uchiha released her shoulder and caught her fist, but couldn't help but cringe as pain shot through his wrist from the impact of the chakra filled punch.
Slapping her palms together, Sakura let out a burst of chakra yelling, "Kai!" She had to be in some fucked up genjutsu, there is no way she was in the future.
But nothing happened.
Future
Sakura found herself standing at the front gate of Konoha, strangely she saw only 4 heads on the Hokage Monument.
"Am I in the past?" She wondered, as she stepped towards the gates.
"Halt! Identify yourself." One of the old gatekeepers yelled out, Izumo, Sakura remembered distinctly.
"Yuzu Hinoko." She lied smoothly, as she approached the two, carefully crafting an unnoticeable genjutsu around them, using it to mask the Uchiha symbol etched on her qipao.
"Are you a citizen of Konoha? If you are, what are you doing outside of the village?" Kotetsu, the other gatekeeper asked.
"Yes, I'm a citizen of Konoha and I was merely outside to collect some herbs." Sakura replied calmly, reaching into her ninja pouch to show them the herbs that she had stuffed in. The gatekeepers looked at her suspiciously but let her through and she sighed heavily before running towards the edge of the wall.
Finding the area where Kiba dug a hole under the wall to escape, she shimmied down the small passageway and streaked through the forest.
If she really was in the past, she was determined to find out what Sasuke did during this time. He had always changed topics when she tried to get him to open up more about his past with Orochimaru and she understood why, but she couldn't let down this chance to finally answer all her questions.
Considering that Naruto probably left with Jiraiya and she had sensed Tsunade's chakra near the training area, it was clear that she was right at the exact time when he was training with Orochimaru.
Cursing inwardly at the outfit she wore, as she still donned her civilian clothes, she reached towards the entrance of the Eastern hideout and slipped into a henge of a Sound ninja. Quickly, she sprinted down the dim twisting and winding hallways, eyes open for the familiar jet black hair of a certain Uchiha.
Sensing someone near, she quietly slipped into a random room and gently closed the door, waiting for the Sound nins to walk away.
"Who are you and why are you here?" A familiar voice behind her asked coldly.
Sakura turned around, smirking at her luck when she saw Sasuke sitting on one of the simple beds of the hideout. He stared at her impassively, lounging on the bed seemingly relaxed, but the Haruno turned Uchiha knew better, he was ready to spring into action at any time.
Undoing her henge, she stared at him with a grim look plastered on her face, "I suppose I shouldn't tell you as I shouldn't be here. However, let's just cut to the chase so I don't have to deal with any future violence." She inwardly laughed, dealing with Sasuke right now would be a piece of cake but she would rather tease him and push his buttons instead of having to fight him immediately.
"My name is Haruno Sakura, nice to meet you Uchiha Sasuke." She stuck out her hand as if waiting for him to shake it, smiling mischievously.
His expression didn't change, though his eyes gave away everything no matter how hard he tried to hide the shock.
"Surprised aren't you? I'm the same girl that you knocked out on the bench a year ago." She shrugged and leaned on the wall, crossing her arms.
'This is going to be interesting.' She chuckled inwardly, flashing Sasuke an innocent smile as the young Uchiha was still processing the situation.
Well this is the first chapter, hoped you liked it. I know I kind of made the adult Sakura kind of OOC but I figured she's not exactly like Naruto who can forgive anything Sasuke don't s (even if she loves him), so I made her tease Sasuke since he's probably not as strong as her back in the past and can't do anything about it.
Anyways, RR Ja!
7/16/19- Jesus, finally finished editing and fixing up the first chapter, I'm still inwardly dying at the atrocious grammar and OOC-ness that I'm desperately trying to fix.
Anyways stay tuned for chapter 2's edit, hopefully this first chapter isn't too disappointing.
Reviews are greatly appreciated, thank you!
