PROLOGUE
"You are not doing that." Minerva snapped, waving her wand. "You are not." She repeated, glaring at Albus.
"He'll be safe here, Minerva. Voldemort will never suspect anything." A visible shiver passed through her body. "He is ensured to come back, and I have promised to keep Harry safe."
She shot another glower at him, enough to make any man shrivel. He looked at her calmly, stroking his beard calmly. "And what if he finds the place? They can't protect him."
Albus began to speak, but thought better of it and closed his mouth, the absence of the street lights guarding his anxious expression.
"Albus? Have you thought of that?" Minerva adjusted her spectacles, speaking sharply now. "They may be muggles, but He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named is dangerous. I-at least let me raise him." He closed his eyes, motioning for her to go on.
"I already told you that I've been watching them all day, and they are horrendous. Don't make that decision, tell Hagrid to give the boy to me."
"Perhaps, Minerva." Albus mumbled, looking at the house. A faint glow shone on the upper level, and the outline of a large figure could be seen. Her sister always treated Lily with disgust… She may not treat Harry kindly. "Perhaps…"
She nodded stiffly, transforming back into the silver cat with spectacle markings around its eyes, watching the wizard before padding away.
Albus watched her leave, while talking to himself. "That would maybe work. Minerva is a good teacher and could tell Harry about poor Lily and James… Yet if I hid Harry with them, it would prevent him from being found and…" he cast a glance at the house, making his decision. The elderly wizard walked away, with a click turning the streetlights back on after he was not able to be seen.
