*20 mins sitting in my chair trying to think of what to say after being away for so long* …Uhh…hey-
Holy fuck, its been awhile. Nine fricken months to be exact. And I'm reading the old comments and I find one that said 'You should update more often' and I laughed my ass off. I'm sorry for being away so long, but life took a weird turn and I was preparing for college trying to catch up on gr 12 math, and finally getting in and doing it… It completely exhausted me. The college was abt an hour from where I lived and the course was challenging af, but it ended in April and c0vid hit in march. Afterwards I started making more progress, I almost forgot what I wanted to write all those months ago. But I started off and I wanted to incorporate my very own OC. And the more I thought about how to describe my character, the deeper these convos will need to be. SO I'll put some basic info in the story notes. All I'm gonna say is wait until 8:59 p.m. If you guys wanna know more about her, leave in comments right now. *Stares at you* "Fuckin dew it"
Story Notes: Okay. Basically my OC comes in at the end. I don't wanna spoil her now. I'll talk about her in the End Note so stay tuned. Also, I should add after the Café scene, Weiss goes off to train at the cabin before coming back and reading her textbook. I just decided not to include it in as the page count's already doubled at this time. So just to warn you, there might be time gaps later on in this arc. but for now, it's fast-tracked into what I envisioned. So for now, stay for the end notes and enjoy!
EDIT: Forgot to add, I've been getting back into star wars again for the past several months, soo yeah, it inspired the spec ops outfits greatly.
IT'S GOOD TO BE BACK!
The dormroom was quiet as team RWBY slept. Soft… rather loud snores, actually, came from Yang's side of the room that filled the silent space a round their dorm. And Ruby's soft rhythmic breathing accompanied it. Everyone was asleep, except Weiss, however. The events of the day filled her mind, as did the offer. She had to make a decision tomorrow, and the heiress wished she had more time to think. While she didn't want to leave her team behind, it was a once in a lifetime opportunity. Weiss wasn't worried about the possible threats that came with the job -that bit worried her the least, actually- She was more so worried about what her team would think, should they find out the truth. What she feared most, though was if her team would be targeted. She knew the confidentiality of the program would keep her and her team safe, but what if the academy got wrapped up in it? She knew she would deal with it should it arise, but the thought of it churned her stomach, and made her fear the worst.
'You shouldn't fret about that, Weiss,' Snow spoke, almost startling Weiss as her hairs stood up. 'The possibility of something like that is very low, especially accounting the anonymity of this unit.'
Weiss sighed softly. "I don't know, Snow. I don't want to pass this up, but I don't want to abandon my team either. But now, it feels like I'm being pulled in two different directions," Weiss whispered to herself. "What should I do?"
'I can't make this decision for you, Weiss. You have to come to terms with this on your own,' Snow replied, reminding Weiss of her mother telling her words of wisdom. 'However, this opportunity might be the perfect chance to better hone your abilities, in both physical and inherited. It won't be simple, but you will come out far stronger than you are now, should you succeed. Sleep on it Weiss, think about it.
Weiss sighed again. "That's all I can think of." She spoke, but no reply came as she stared at the bottom of her girlfriend's bed above them. The thought danced in her mind and made it hard to come to a conclusion. Suddenly, Ruby shifted as she naturally wrapped around the alabaster girl, tuning her thoughts away as she observed her sleeping girlfriend. Ruby's breathing turned into soft little snores as she rested her head on Weiss' shoulder, whom the heiress had to keep her composure as to not die from the overload of cuteness that was her sleeping girlfriend. But soon, her thoughts turned back to the offer, and made her think of what her girlfriend would think, should she learn the truth. Weiss honestly didn't know how she would ever tell her. How was she to tell Ruby of her inherited powers? How would she even react? Weiss didn't know. Her head hurt with the possibilities and outcomes, but she pushed it all away before it started to build up as Weiss Flipped over. Weiss coursed her hand around the redhead's hips as she continued to gaze at her, taking in her rose scent and her sleeping beauty as she started to doze off. She let go of her worry and anxiousness as it was soon replaced with dreams of Ruby, of adventures and dates.
And soon, her worry melted away with the scent of roses.
9 a.m. Unknown Location. Near the outskirts of Industrial Vale.
Weiss peered out the back window of the car as it drove down a dirt road. There were no other vehicles around them in sight as they continued down the secluded road. Finally, they made it to what looked to be like a concrete bomb shelter as the car stopped just in front. Weiss unlocked her door to get out when the driver locked the door again. "Where are you going?" The driver asked.
"Isn't this the end of the line?" Weiss replied confusedly, until the doors to the shelter opened.
"There's more to it than you think," the passenger spoke up as the car drove into the bunker, the reinforced doors closing behind them as the lights finally turned on in the facility. "This. Is Vale's Special Operations headquarters."
Weiss looked around the underground bunker as the car finally pulled over near the entrance. "This is the end of the line." The driver spoke, finally unlocking the doors as Weiss hesitated for a moment.
"How will I get back to the dormitory?" The teen asked.
"Ozpin will send someone to come pick you up when you are ready to leave, just give him a call when you're done." The other man spoke, Weiss nodding before finally exiting as the car drove back to the front gates. Silence hung around the entrance, other than what Weiss could only assume was intense sparring coming from inside as Weiss walked in.
As soon as she stepped foot into the building, nearby strangers turned to look at her before turning back as Weiss looked around. People of every race, build and sex were pooled into the lobby of the place, most watching the two special ops fighters spar at the end of the room. Their fighting was far more advanced and different than any of the sparring classes Weiss had ever taken. Both had what could only be assumed as military grade sparring weaponry; one was using dual batons and the other a long staff. Their fighting was different as well. In her class they would utilize and hone their techniques and use their semblances and dust to break the opponent's guard and gain the upper hand. But the spec ops in the ring fought differently, both flexed and shifted their bodies in extremely complicated ways, clashing their weapons many times and mixing it with different forms of martial arts. They looked like they were after each other's throats in the match, as if trying to bloody murder their opponent. As soon as one staggered the other, looking as if they were gonna win, the other recovered with finesse and went for their opponent again. It was oddly beautiful how both continued to clash with great force against one another. It was almost like two clashing lightning bolts, or like watching the historic fights play out in front of Weiss and a hundred more like her.
Finally, both fighters lunged at each other's throat's, stopping an inch away from it as the timer finally buzzed to signal the end of their fight. The duo panted lightly before bringing their weapons back and sheathing it, one held out her arm in peace as the other shook it honourably before turning to their audience as they walked towards the group. Finally, Weiss could see their uniforms in full view now. Both wore sleek dark grey armour on, looking almost like Atlas' own forces, though donning no Atlas military badge, instead a plaque that read 'VSOU' was embroidered over their right chest plate's. They had a black outfit underneath the armour as well as what looked to be like special commando helmets, resembling that of an old Valian warrior's helmet that Weiss distinctly remembered in their history class. It was a simple helmet molded into a T-shape for the eyeholes and the mouth at the front of it. Now that Weiss thought of it, their entire armour resembled that of a modern Valian warrior. Both of the spec ops fighters removed their helmets as a medium sized woman and a powerhouse of a man looked at the group of initiates that were waiting in the lobby.
"Hello everyone. It is a pleasure to finally meet you all here," The woman spoke first, slowly walking forward. "My codename is Sky; this is my partner Gordon." She spoke, raising her hand to her sparring partner as he gave a simple wave before crossing his arms. "I'd like to welcome you all to the Vale Special Operations Unit, or VSOU."
After Sky's statement, the lights dimmed as a projection of Vale appeared on the walls behind the fighters. "For almost the entire year, the increase of White Fang operations and robberies has gone up tremendously in Vale. And while a huntress group that must remain confidential has thwarted a couple heists in the past, the urgency to act has been called into play."
The screen switched to its next slide of city hall, along with a picture of the mayor of Vale. "The police have been trying to keep up with the amount of illegal activity that's been going on in this past year. But their resources have been stretched to its limit. The growing crime in Vale is becoming more and more of a threat. And so, the mayor has declared a rise to action, and the headmaster of Beacon has created VSOU, and has called for the best hunters and huntresses in all of Remnant to help combat these growing threats to society."
"We don't know why they have attacked Vale, but we suspect many reasons. We believe our opponents are creating an army, but there is no concrete evidence to prove it. We know the White Fang have recently teamed up with criminal leader Roman Torchwick from the reports of the confidential hunters, but we don't know their whereabouts or their drive. That's where you all come into play. VSOU has only one goal: to uncover their HQ and stop them from doing more damage to the city of Vale." Gordon spoke next. A slide with a mugshot of Roman Torchwick in the corner of the slide with the background of the harbour appeared on the walls.
"We operate mostly in the shadows; we protect humanity as ghosts and should remain that way to society." Sky continued the speech as she trotted slowly across the room. "The police and the hunters and huntresses work in the limelight to bring justice and order, but we operate in their shadows to ensure that justice and order is achieved and enforced. We are anonymous and should remain that way. Your identities are for the outside world, but not here. You will take the time to either come up with your codenames or we can give you codenames; it must be a simple name that you will all use with your teams. You have until tomorrow to come up with them, but for now we will show you our base of operations."
The VSOU members motioned the group to follow them as they made their way to the right side of the building. Weiss started to follow the end of the group when she saw a familiar face, one she wasn't expecting to see at all as she approached. "Pyrrha?" she spoke, the redhead in question turning to see Weiss as she gave a look of astonishment.
"Weiss?" Pyrrha returned, looking at Weiss like she was a ghost. "What are you doing here?"
"The same reason you're here, I'm guessing." Weiss told, waiting for the majority of the group to go first as they stuck back.
"So, you're in this too, huh?" Pyrrha said as they walked behind. Weiss nodded.
"Does your team know of this?" The heiress asked, to which Pyrrha shook her head.
"No, they think it's some kind of special co op program," The Amazonian woman explained. "Jaune and the others wanted to know if they could join too, trying to get an advantage on their training. But I told them it was exclusive. What about your team?"
"Basically, the same thing. They all seemed to like the idea, I wish I could tell them though." The heiress spoke honestly, earning a hand on her shoulder from the woman beside her.
"Hey, don't beat yourself up about it. I feel the same way, but it's better to keep this hidden from them until we can trust their confidentiality with it." The redhead reciprocated.
The duo followed behind closely as the hunters gave the tour of the facility. The headquarters was massive, looking to almost rival Beacon's vast institution in a more compact replica. The facilities were numerous. From weapons stations to their own giant cafeteria and bunk rooms, The VSOU HQ was significant. After lunch at the caf, the tour guides brought the group back to the entrance. "This concludes our tour. We will discuss the rules and familiarize you all with your own gear tomorrow at 10. We will also assign your personal codenames and assess your CQC skills." Sky spoke, raising her hand in a last gesture. "Before I dismiss you, I would like to state one rule, and a simple rule to follow: Anything and everything that happens while you are here is to remain confidential. We are anonymous. This never happened, we were never here. During your time in this program we must be willing to face everything, and we cannot guarantee we will have allies to back us up. But you won't be alone, your team is your strength. Confide in them and trust them. We have amassed a select group of gifted and talented hunters and huntresses; you are all one in the same and should treat each other as such."
"Dismissed." Sky concluded, the doors to the facility opened as the group started to leave. Weiss and Pyrrha made their way to the exit as a black car awaited their departure.
Weiss motioned for Pyrrha as the redhead turned her gaze to her. "Can we talk?" Weiss asked before the taller girl could speak. Pyrrha gave a nod as they turned to the driver, whom still stood waiting for them.
"Do you know any good coffee shops in this part of town?" Weiss asked the chauffeur. The man gave a nod as the duo got in and they made their way out the bunker.
"So that's how you got accepted?" Pyrrha asked in amazement, Weiss nodded as Pyrrha gave a laugh in response. "That is hilarious!"
The duo laughed at the memory as they sipped their coffees. They managed to find a café nearby as they sat outside. The beautiful weather complimented the occasion as the two huntresses recalled their enrollment into the program. "So, how did you get nominated?" Weiss asked next. Pyrrha took a swig of her coffee before speaking.
"Well, not as exciting as yours. I was at Beacon's gym when he called me in. He told me about the program and what it was about. He said that my skill in combat would benefit the cause, I was hesitant at first, but…"
Pyrrha paused for a moment, looking down at the table for a moment before looking back at Weiss. "Vale is under threat of terrorists. Nobody at Beacon knows, but the growing crime rate and the amount of dust and weapons stolen proves this is more than just a series of small robberies. The program is the only way to stop the growing hostility and I know that for fact. With that in mind, I couldn't turn it down."
Weiss nodded in agreement. She too knew the damages done in the city. The increase of dust stolen in Vale alone has made an impact on her family's company. Security has since doubled around SDC shipments, with constant 24/7 surveillance monitoring the cargo. But that alone hasn't stopped the mass robberies of dust stores and equipment shops around town. And now, it has come to a point where stores have even taken dust off of shelves or locked it tightly behind durable glass containers in order to deter thieves. "I agree, dust stolen this year has been the highest ever in record since the White Fang raids. I've been looking into the reports and manifests."
Weiss scooted her chair closer to the redhead as she opened up her phone, setting her scroll down on the table as she opened the umbrella to show the projection. It presented a digital map of Vale and had red blocks on multiple different buildings around the city. "The red indicates the stores that have been robbed this year. The most common places seem to be the poorer parts of town," Weiss reported to Pyrrha, whom gave a nod as she continued to eye the map. "At first I thought it was just mere coincidence, but it's not just dust they are stealing."
Weiss then brought up a picture of the Atlesian Knight 130 models as the map brought up the location of their area. "My older sister Winter has been kind enough to send me this info. Apparently, less than a week ago, Atlas' own cargo facility in Vale was also robbed. Over a hundred androids were stolen from that hangar, as well as a few Paladins. They tracked the androids from their chips to two stops."
Weiss pointed at the far-right side of the map. "The first was at the abandoned City in Vale near the depot where they stopped at the train station and loaded it on one of the trains," Weiss told. Pyrrha nodding as she studied the map. The ivory teen traced her finger on the holographic map down to the mid-left as a picture of the underground tunnels appeared. "The thing is they made a pit stop and finally removed the trackers there. The station has an old underground maintenance hangar nearing the end of the railroad. At the end of this tunnel lies a small guarded fort that was used to store the trains in as a docking bay and to protect them from smugglers and White Fang. I'm no tactician, but that spot would be the starting pack to any shady organization. It is literally an impenetrable underground base."
Pyrrha nodded as she continued to survey the intel. "They knew there were tracers on the droids, but they chose to take them off near their possible base… It sounds almost like a trap."
"It does, but think of it geographically; Mountain Glenn houses many dangerous monsters. It would take them forever to remove their chips individually, but this maintenance depot was more than just a simple mode of transportation. They used the tunnels late at night and even during the day to ship grimm to-and-from the underground facilities that connected Southeastern Vale, including Mountain Glenn itself. They placed tracking anklets to the grimm as a sort of security cuff mechanism. Vale's history textbooks even say the outbreak started from the underground tunnels. They had a giant dangerous grimm that they didn't know of and had no record. Upon cuffing it, the beast lashed out and managed to escape, and what emotion would you feel when there's a giant grimm headed for the mainland city? It sparked the attack, and the overwhelming force on the gates themselves opened the whole city up. most of the creatures underground ended up right at the capitol of the city."
"So, you believe they're using the underground railroads to transport the stolen dust and weapons?" Pyrrha asked, Weiss half-heartedly nodding as she crossed her arms.
"In logical sense… kind of," Weiss told. "The thing is most of the abandoned city is free land for anybody. They could just as easily have taken the wiped androids and went back the way they came. They already have airships from the reports in the investigations. It would be simple to take it to any part of the city. But at the same time that train depot is the most secure bunker in all of the abandoned city. It would be the ideal choice."
Weiss finally sat down as she gave a sigh. "I've been studying all the stolen report logs, the maps and Vale's history textbooks since the nomination, any and every piece of info I've looked into. I gave my findings to Ozpin; I just hope we can find more conclusive proof. The White Fang and the criminals that lead the raids always seem to get away. Their arsenal is growing drastically. If we don't put an end to these operations there could be serious danger for Vale or anyone that they deem targets, even Beacon."
"Don't fret Weiss," The tall redhead spoke. "We'll put an end to this. I got your back." She told. Weiss smirking in response as she nodded.
"And I've got yours." Weiss replied.
Around 8:50 p.m.
Weiss' eyes trailed along the text as she flipped to the next page of the Self-Defense: Basic book she was reading. The heiress wanted to learn more about different CQC tactics to try and implement them into her training. Truth be told, Weiss actually wasn't too bad with fighting one on one. She was well enough to stand her ground, but it was usually the unexpected that always threw her off. Hence, she learned to fence and swordfight quite well even at her younger age. The heiress knew she would have to be able to pull her weight in the program, and so she took it upon herself to try and learn various techniques and styles, along with medical and other knowledge in fighting and survival. She had read a book entirely to the nature and wildlife of Vale itself, along with the vast textbooks of Vale's history. The more she read, the more she learned and the deeper she got into trying to piece the missing supplies' assumed locations. Vast hangars and buildings able to fit cargo and other vehicles, to the tunnels' track routes leading all around southeastern Vale and deep into the central parts. As she flipped the page again, she found it harder to keep her focus as she fought her tired body to stay awake.
Suddenly, a warm hand startled Weiss as she straightened her posture a bit. The ivory teen fought the yawn building in the back of her throat as she looked up to her girlfriend, whom had a blissfully sweet smirk emanating through her expression. "I never thought I'd see the bookworm Weiss falling asleep reading a textbook," Ruby joked as Weiss gave a tired giggle, retiring the book on the desk as she turned to her girl. Ruby fixed the heiress' sweat-dampened locks as she tucked the strands of hair behind her ears, sitting down in the tired girl's lap as she gave her girlfriend a kiss. "How was your first day at the co op program?" Ruby asked sincerely as Weiss played with her redhead's combat skirt.
"Good," Weiss told confidently, looking up to the redhead's eyes as she smirked. "They have everything there. The sleeping area, caf, and training room are all decked out. They don't go cheap with this program it seems. I even saw Pyrrha there."
"Even Pyrrha got nominated?" Ruby spoke amazed, as if relieved to hear it. "You two are perfect for the program. It's too bad I couldn't join you."
"Well, it's very advanced, even for me," Weiss said truthfully. "There's a lot of training and discipline involved. I'd be scared of something happening to you if you did get nominated. I need my Ruby in one piece."
"Now you know how I feel," Ruby returned, earning a confused look from Weiss. "The same goes for me, you know. I need you. You know if you ever need us, or even me, we won't hesitate to help out."
"Of course, Ruby. Don't worry," Weiss told earnestly, giving a smirk in return. "This program will be over in no time, and then we'll all be in our third year together."
Ruby sighed as she tightened her hold on the heiress. "You know I do. Even when it's something small. We've both lost a lot, I fear the unexpected when we're not with you. I can't… lose you."
Weiss sensed something so familiar to what she had felt in Ruby. The feeling of loss, of pain. She knew it so well she could feel it emanating in herself too. But she did not succumb as easily as before as she knew what to do, enveloping Ruby in a firm hug as the saddened redhead reciprocated. "I can feel your worry. It's okay hun, I'm not gonna leave you again, I promise you."
"You won't forget me, right?" Ruby asked as if it were true. Weiss brought her gaze back to the smaller girl, who looked like her life depended on the question as her eyes softened.
"Ruby. How could I forget the most amazing woman in all of Remnant?" Weiss told without thinking twice about it. She knew her girl better than almost anyone, and she could tell the younger teen needed some comfort. "I can never get you out of my head. You are the only one I look forward to seeing the most at the end of the day. You keep me sane, make me feel more love than I thought I ever could. And I couldn't be more blessed to have you in my life. I love you, more than anything in this world."
Ruby smirked as she gave a small giggle in return. "You really do?" the younger teen asked as Weiss nodded immediately.
"Everyday," Weiss replied without missing a beat. "I know I've been very selfish, and I've neglected you. And it took me until our fight to realize that, and after everything you've done for me, after everything I've done, I promised myself I wouldn't ever do that to you again."
The heiress started to play with the shorter girl's locks as she cupped her cheek. "I can't live without you, Ruby. You are the most important person to me. No money, fame or fortune amounts to you by my side -or in my lap, in this case," Weiss played, the redhead giggling as the former coursed her hand down her girlfriend's thighs, as if reassuring herself she was in this moment. "That's why it was so hard for me when we got back, when I was deciding what I wanted to do. If things weren't this great and amazing at Beacon, I would've been back in Atlas now to run the SDC with my dad. I'd be stuck doing something that I was born into, instead of something I was born to do. But Yang and Blake, team JNPR, and especially you, are all my family now. You all mean something to me, and the thought of leaving you and my family was something that made my stomach churn. I could be the richest Schnee in the world right now with nothing to gain from going back, and I knew that from the beginning. But…"
Weiss paused for a moment, playing with the redhead's outfit for a moment while shaking her head calmly before looking back up to her. "I couldn't give up my life, my team, or my girl, just for lien. I won't accept that. I wouldn't be Weiss if I did, I'd just be a Schnee."
Ruby smirked elegantly as Weiss felt herself mimic her girlfriend, whom at this point looked to be overloaded with emotion. Then Ruby raised her hands and coursed the heiress' skin lightly. Weiss happily sighed as the redhead gently massaged her neck. As soon as she started, Weiss practically melted into Ruby's palm as the shorter teen grinned. "You've been working hard. Your back's tense." She said as she continued to massage her. This time using a little more friction as Weiss rested her head on the girl's collar and instinctively wrapped around her.
"You're g-oo~d.." The heiress told as another content sigh left. "have you done this before? Your hands feel soo goo- Aaah!" She squeaked as a pain shot through the right side of her collarbone.
"Eek- sorry!" Ruby apologized as she held her hands up.
"It's alright, I strained my arm a little today at training," Weiss spoke as her arm stung a little, then Ruby gently massaged around the sore spot. Weiss could literally pass out from how good it felt to rub out her muscles. But she stayed awake as a sudden idea arose. Given her arms were tired, she grabbed the girl's hips and started to kiss collarbone and neck. Ruby let out a light sigh now as she tilted her head to the side and continued. Soon, Weiss was subconsciously grinding on her girlfriend as the redhead returned the gesture, she too starting to feel heated. As soon as it started, though. Another idea popped into mind as Weiss looked over to their bed.
"Tell you what, you wait on the bed, I'll take a quick shower, and then I'm all yours." Weiss said with a seductive tone as she gave a wink. Ruby liking the idea as she got up.
"Anything?" She asked with a devilishly innocent face that made Weiss burn up a fierce red.
"Okay okay, but I still need to sleep." Weiss replied, scared of the plans the smaller woman had for her.
"Don't worry, Yang and Blake won't be back for a little while." Ruby informed with an evil grin. The redhead unmounted Weiss and gave her one last kiss, followed by a couple more as the two started to giggle. Weiss finally broke it in a tort of laughter before wrapping her girlfriend up and kissing her some more. Finally, she untangled herself from the shorter teen as she smirked.
"Alright alright, wait for me my love." The heiress flirted as she turned around, noticing the rain starting as the pellets hit the window before making her way to the washroom…
Meanwhile. Near the far end of the gate, Atlesian Testing Site, Abandoned City, 8:59 p.m
A group of footsteps walked down the secluded entrance to the hidden testing site as they went through the missing gates. Of the burning testing site. The area around looked devastated as the rain fell on the small battlefield and alarms rang throughout the area. "Jesus, are you sure this is the place? It looks like we're walking into a trap." Emerald spoke as she checked the body of a nearby soldier, whom had many slashes across the chest and shoulders.
"Oh, this is the place alright. Salem knows this one really well," Cinder told as she stepped over a body, the duo following closely behind. "She's the most dangerous huntress you'll ever meet, our objective here is to work out a deal with her. We are not to attack her by any means and do NOT provoke her," The golden eyed criminal said with utmost seriousness. "We do not stand a chance with her. Keep it neutral."
"What kind of person are we talking about anyway? Is she a witch, maybe a freedom fighter?" Mercury blurted as they continued to think of the possible outcomes. "No… she's an assassin, isn't she?"
"Yes, but her skills and aura are far, far beyond any of ours," Cinder told as they continued towards the smoking buildings ahead of them. "She's said to even be sub par with Salem's powers. She's lethal and deadly, so keep your guard up just in case."
The trio now passed the cargo containers as all of their eyes widened, Vehicles were burning dark purple and black flames, the missing gates at the entrance were lodged deep into the side from a diagonal angle as the other was impaled through a few armoured vehicles on the other side. Dead bodies scattered the place as a trail of blood ran all around the area and mixed with the rain. "W…Who is this person?" Emerald stuttered as she stared around the scene in shock.
"Not many people know her real name, but she goes by the alias of the Redeemer," Cinder told. "Her name is Kyra. She is.. a grim reaper in the flesh. Be careful."
As they neared the doorway into the facility, more bodies aligned the ground and near the walls. Entering in they could hear the sounds of screaming, gunshots and explosives going off along with the alarms in the background. But before they could see, the people were all silenced by the sound of spikes. A very dark aura washed over the trio as they looked to each other and around the place, blood spilled all across the walls and broken furniture and discarded papers were everywhere. "Alright, let me do the talking, stay back." Cinder told as the two henchmen nodded. They turned around the corner to find the scene much worse and far more twisted. A medium sized woman walked towards one of the scientists that was trying to crawl away from her. She wore short, simple robes with exquisite tan shin-high boots with dark skinny pants. The robes were black with red and animal fur accents that complimented the boots and chest, with a wolf's head strapped over her left shoulder. She donned rather top-of-the-line dark bracers with an ebony plating and a dark hood with white stitching's around the edges. And a sword with a V-shaped cross guard fastened to the back of her hip with the dark hilt pointing to the right side. The beaten scientist tried to crawl away fast as the assassin grabbed him and spun him around, the scientist struggled in the woman's grasp on his neck as she held him up with ease. "You know what I want… Tell me," She spoke. The man chocking slightly as he dangled in front of her. "Where is he?"
"Kyra Torres," Cinder called out, the assassin in front of them didn't flinch as she turned her gaze slightly to the announcer. "My name is Cinder, Salem sent us here."
Kyra finally let go of the worker as he sprawled away from the woman. The dark-haired woman now turned around as she gazed at the three of them. She had black silk hair that covered over her left eye as the right one studied the group. The light silver eye scanned them before checking the surroundings. "What do you want?" She asked in a cold manner, sounding more annoyed that they halted her than wanting to hear what they had to say.
"We came here for a proposition." Cinder continued, stepping a couple feet in front of the others as she did.
"I'm not interested in Lien, nor power," Kyra replied, turning around to continue down the facility. "I have but one goal, and you cannot provide it."
"How about a chance to kill General James Ironwood himself?" Cinder told, the shorter woman started to flare up as dark aura emanated and her eye changed. In a fraction of a second, she was at Cinder's side, her blade resting at the older woman's throat as said person held her hands out immediately. All in a matter of a couple seconds. Her visible eye was now blood red as the concealed eye glowed through her hair.
"How do you know me?" Kyra asked, her voice a threatening, calm tone as Cinder looked away from the shorter woman's gaze
"Salem told me everything I need to know, including your target," Cinder told, pushing the blade away from her neck as she stepped back. "We'll help you get to Ironwood. In return, you help us hack the CCT and destroy Vale."
The woman hesitated for a moment, lowering her sword as she sheathed it on her right hip. "Salem's used me before, give me a reason why I shouldn't kill you all and find him myself." Kyra told, her intent clear as day as the silver and green duo readied themselves.
"Salem's not running this operation, I am," Cinder told, though not seeming to matter much to the dark-haired assassin. "The Vytal festival is in 4 months. General Ironwood will surely come down to visit Ozpin, but he will be heavily guarded. We have over a hundred androids, wiped and ready to use, once we hack the CCT, Ironwood will be exposed. You want him dead, we want to watch Vale crumble."
Kyra thought about it more now, seeming to persuade the raven-haired assassin as she pondered on it. "We have a common enemy. Let's bargain," The shorter woman spoke before walking forward. "Ozpin is another important target, but that's a hard battle alone. I will help you with your plans, I'll hack the CCT myself. In return help me take down Beacon's headmaster."
Cinder nodded in agreement as a smirk arose. "I think this'll work out for the both of us." She told. Then, Kyra turned back to face Cinder, her eye glowing as the dark aura emanated from her again.
"All I want, is general Ironwood dead at the end of my blade."
Epilogue: 9:25 p.m. at the dormitory…
The bathroom door opened as the hum of the fan entered the bedroom. Weiss walked out to see her redhead fast asleep, snoring on the pillow sprawled out on her side. The heiress giggled before opening her dresser. After slipping on a nightgown, she opened the window as a cool breeze wafted into the room. Content, she finally turned off the lights before stopping at the window again. A strange feeling arose in the heiress, like something was happening somewhere out in the City. She stared into the looming night sky as she watched it. Nothing but ordinary rain clouds blew over into the forest as it continued. 'Snow, do you feel that?' Weiss asked in her head.
'Mmm. Yes. Something's off in the world, a shift in power.' Snow replied. Weiss sensing her study the clouds coming from Vale through her eyes. The ones coming from Vale were different, like smoke clouds. Before Weiss could fully study the skies, a warm hand pulled her back into reality as she looked over, finding her sleepy girlfriend with her arm reaching out to her.
"Weiss, are you okay? You look worried." The tired Ruby asked before yawning as Weiss turned to face her, giving a single nod.
"Yeah. Just, watching the clouds," Weiss told in half truth. She walked over to her as the redhead's hand held onto her hip. The heiress slipped down onto the bed as she laid down beside her girlfriend. Ruby's silver eyes gazed over Weiss' complexion; she knew it was a simple check up that they knew to do in their relationship. After the fight they made a pact with each other, and it was 2 simple amendments: the first was to always try to be there to check up with one another, and it would be little gestures, Weiss would make sure to give Ruby a snack right before they parted because she knew her girlfriend ended up hungry at the end of class before the next one. And Ruby had made breakfast a couple times for the heiress now. They made sure they had everything for the day, and it was something Weiss wholly enjoyed. She was planning on something big for her girl. But she knew the job had to come before she could even book time for it. But she wanted to surprise Ruby someway. The other was to be honest with each other. They knew one another well at this point, Weiss knew she could talk to Ruby about her mother, about her past and her history, and about her goals. And Ruby could do the same with her. There was no need to hide from each other, and they worked with it together. Weiss knew Ruby was giving the 'are you sure?' face. A soft furrow of the brow as her eyes seemed to have doubled in size. "I'm alright Ruby, I'm just, adjusting to the new program protocol. I miss seeing you during the day though." Weiss affirmed with her redhead, said girl's eyes softened upon hearing that, wrapping her arm firmer around the heiress as smirked.
"I miss you too, not seeing you in your regular spot is kinda… it's odd," Ruby admitted, looking down at Weiss' gown as she played with the fabric. "Yang and Blake feel it too."
"I'm starting to doubt my decision of starting this, it's a completely different basis than a general huntsman and I'm gonna be with an entirely different teammm-"
Before Weiss could finish her sentence, the redhead's warm lips silenced her frustration as her mood stabilized. She returned the gesture before finally parting. "Weiss. It's gonna be alright, you've been accepted for a role that most hunters wish they could get. They chose you to be apart of this special co op program. You can't give up now, your destiny's just starting," Ruby told Weiss with the enthusiasm and light of a true soul. Weiss stared at the shorter girl's face as she told her. "This is your calling, Weiss. This is a chance to show your true potential. And I couldn't think of anyone more suited for the job than you."
"What about you?" Weiss questioned, looking into Ruby's beautiful silver eyes as the dark room illuminated them. "What about my girl? What about not being there for my team?"
"Don't worry about us, Weiss. We're still here," Ruby told. "We'll always be here for you at the end of the day, waiting for the stories and tales of your adventures. And one day, we'll all be doing them, together."
Weiss giggled a little as she gazed at Ruby. "You have an excellent view of our future. I can see that, you aren't afraid of what lies in our path," Weiss told as she rolled onto her back, Ruby wrapping around her as she rubbed the former's stomach. "I like that idea. We'll find a place out in Patch, build a home and live there forever. Go on adventures and missions throughout Remnant, and when we're really adventurous. We'll do them in our free time." The white-haired spoke, Ruby giggling happily at the end as she readjusted her posture, burying her head in the alabaster girl's shoulder.
"Go around the world, explore different areas of Remnant." Ruby added, smirking brightly at the thought of it.
"I couldn't think of anyone else I'd wanna do it with." Weiss said with a smile, staring at the bottom of the bed above them before looking to Ruby, whom awaited her gaze before latching onto the heiress. Before Weiss knew, Ruby sat atop the heiress' lap as she stretched up in front of her. Weiss ogled Ruby's skinny body that was partially exposed by the loose shirt with admiration as she traced her hand up the shorter girl's stomach. Ruby let out a content noise as she lowered back down atop Weiss. They kissed briskly for a few minutes as Ruby finally parted for air, the heiress doing the same as they panted lightly. The smaller redhead played with Weiss' silky locks with a grin.
"I love you." Ruby said with all her heart. Weiss smiled at the statement. She never got tired of hearing it.
"I love you too." Weiss told as a warm smile broke her complexion. Trailing her hands down the teen's body to the hips. Before Ruby continued to kiss her passionately, as the clouds rolled over Beacon
END NOTES: so I hope you guys liked that, I really wanted to make sure there was detail in this chapter, especially the bit leading to my OC. So I will give up some information about Kyra Torres, but I want to save bits and pieces to help fit the story better. Cuz if I tell you now I can guarantee that even I will forget what I had told in the previous, so by breaking it up into the next chapters, you will better understand Kyra and it will tie in with the chapter itself. My other concern is that Kyra is, well. OP. But that is how I envisioned her and I will explain. There are many, many, many, MANY fucking stories that make their character progress or learn things so fucking slowly along the way. And I get it, it's story depth and I do it too, but Kyra is different from that, she has trained all her life in fighting, and she doesn't have any role models, so there is not a lot about that. What I want from her is how she impacts the story, and how she connects with Weiss and Ozpin and Ironwood in this very weird circle of red wire. I'll talk more about Kyra's semblance and her past in the next chapter, so stay tuned, If you have any questions about Kyra or the story let me know, pm me and I will try to get back to you, but I can't really get into detail about her yet. So thanks for sticking this far, if you've made it past this point, you're a god.
