Zane looked over at the young man, still sitting at the table, staring down at his empty plate, a lot obviously on his mind. He walked over carefully and cleared his throat in order to grab the attention. "May I take your order now, sir?"
"I think I'm just going to leave." The man mumbled in a solemn reply. His blue eyes were looking rather dull. Something was obviously the matter.
Zane commented upon the obvious circumstance. "Did they not show up?"
"Nope. She just...she didn't." He ran his hand through his bright orange and sighed. "I think I'm gonna go now. I'm sorry for holding the table."
The white haired-man looked around quickly then turned back. "I suppose I am on break now. How about I sit in with you?"
The redhead looked up confused, then glared reluctantly. Eventually his expression dropped and he sighed. "Okay."
Zane set down some water and poured them both a glass. This man, he obviously was very down about the situation. "I'm sure she had a good reason for not being able to show up."
"I'm sure she had an even better reason for not calling me about it."
Zane bit his lip and softly added in. "Whatever the reason is, you deserve better."
He looked up slowly, and had a gleam of amazement in his eyes; as if it had been something he hadn't been told before. "D...do you really think so?"
"Anyone who would want to ditch you couldn't be seeing you for who you are."
He was blushing, this Zane could tell. "Thanks."
There, the two men stood respectively, each having to part their separate ways. "H-hey!" The man asked quickly with an embarrassed smile. "Will you be here tomorrow?"
"I work here, of course."
"I...maybe I'll be back. Around this time." He left then, hands stuffed deeply into his pockets and a grin spread across his face.
Zane smiled as well. And maybe, he too was blushing.
