Hey, guys. Holy cow it's been a long time since I updated. I am not going to lie. Life didn't happen so much this time as I was burned out and didn't notice. I needed a break, so I took one. Then my computer broke. But now I have a Chromebook. Please bear with me as I kind of find myself again and get back into regular posts. You guys are awesome!

Chapter 39: A Revolution Begins
Angel and Kristy sat in the back. They weren't really paying attention to what was going on at this point in the show. Kristy was fuming about what Hunter had said about her and Angel and it looked to everyone like she wanted to figure out how to get revenge on him for it. Angel, meanwhile, was trying to figure out how to be the best Champion she could just to spite him.
"Kristy, look, I know what you're thinking about. You want revenge on Hunter for what he said. The best way to do it is to just work your ass off and be true to yourself" Angel said.
"So, keep doing what we have been just to spite him?" Kristy said.
"Exactly" Dean said.
"That's about as good a plan as any. Anything else I do could get me fired" Kristy said.
"That's the last thing we want given that we just convinced you not to hang up your boots a few minutes ago" Roman said.
"Right. So, what's going on your brain, Angel. You look like you're thinking about something" Becky said.
"I'm actually thinking about how to get rid of this belt and how to get rid of the term Diva. It…doesn't exactly fit with us. Especially when you think about what a Diva actually is or what the definition is" Angel said.
"Do I want to know?" Bayley asked.
"The actual definition is a self-important person who is temperamental and difficult to please. And yes, it is mostly used toward Women. And no, that is so not the girls that work here. Well, most of them anyway. Nikki Bella and Charlotte fit the definition, but other than that, I don't see it" Angel said.
"OK. That is so not us. So, how do we change it?" Bayley asked.
"That's the other thing I'm trying to work out," Angel said.
As if on cue, her cellphone rang. Kristy picked it up and sighed, looking worried. Everyone looked at her with a questioning look.
"It's Xander," Kristy said.
"Oh, god. Now who do we have to worry about?" Angel asked.
"Answer it and find out," Taker said.
Angel nodded and took the phone from Kristy. Then she stood up and went outside into the hallway, closing the door behind her.
"Hey, Xander. What's up?" she asked.
"I just called to say congratulations. I hear you're a Diva now. You know, do you have a personal driver and a private journalist yet?" he asked.
"I know you're kidding, Xander. But seriously? Diva jokes? At least where you are, we're called NXT Superstars" Angel said.
"Then change it. You've changed the world once before. As I recall, it was a match with a big Neanderthal"
"Intergender isn't a new thing you know"
"Still, you did it. If you don't like the way things are being done, change them. As for Divas, I may be able to do something about that butterfly thing you're carrying around. I may or may not have had something made hoping I could poach you"
"Poach me? You know you don't need to do that. All you gotta do is call and I'll come down to NXT. Anyway, if you can get rid of this glorified Barbie accessory that I'm stuck hauling around, I'd love the idea"
"Between you and me, Angel, there's a rumor going around. The old man wants NXT to be the third brand. I put feelers out there. I get a couple of draft picks. The nose didn't like the idea of me permanently claiming his top female talent. I made a pretty sizable offer too"
"Really? He was livid when I won the title. Talking about how I was "a blind, scarred up thing with a messed up brain". His words, not mine. Glad Vince is wanting NXT to be the third brand by the way, you all deserve it"
"He might have a giant nose, but he isn't stupid. He knows even if he doesn't like you, the people do and it's the same people buying Dead Girl t-shirts at NXT shows. Those same people are where WWE's money comes from. You are a priceless talent in WWE. Anyway, if you want the title I have here, then it's yours. I think we're taping before Raw next week, so I will bring it with me"
"Nice. That will give me time to run this by Steph before it goes down. I am not doing anything without checking with her. Besides, she's the reasonable one"
"If she gives you any trouble tell her you could always jump to the third brand. She knows I'd happily accept half a million extra viewers"
"I don't bring in that much. Hang on, do you have permission to sell my shirts there?"
"Technically, you were on NXT. I just didn't stop ordering your merch. Vince doesn't care as long as what I order sells. I need the order open anyway if Triple H finally loses his mind and lets me keep you"
"Cool. As long as you're not getting in trouble for it. As for that title, bring it to Raw next week. I have an idea"
"Consider it done. I won't stop you if you feel like cutting a promo at our taping"
"Let me think on that one"
"See you Monday"
"Yep. See you then. And I need to be thanking you. I was trying to figure out how exactly get the term Diva and the association with the term ditched, and thanks to you, I did"
"Well, then. You're welcome. Bye, Angel"
"Bye"
Just as Angel hung up, she heard the locker room door open. When it closed again, she felt someone tap her on the shoulder.
"Ang, everything alright?" Kristy's voice asked.
"Oh! Yeah, everything is fine. Don't worry" Angel said.
"You have that look on your face that you get when you're planning something. What's up?"
"We will talk about that after the show is over tonight, alright? I need to let the others know and I don't wanna repeat myself"
"Sounds like a plan"
"Good luck. Not that you need it"
Kristy nodded and headed off to the ring. Angel on the other hand, headed to Stephanie McMahon's office. As she approached the door, she heard yelling. It appeared that she and Triple H were arguing about something. However, as soon as she knocked, the yelling stopped. Then the door opened and someone pushed Angel aside and walked off.
"Um, Stephanie…is this a bad time?" Angel asked, quietly.
"Oh. Angel, it's you. It's fine. Come on in" Stephanie said.
"Thanks," Angel said, closing the door.
"So, what's up?"
"Look, I wanted to run something by you before I did it. How would you feel if we dropped the term Diva and we were just WWE Superstars or Female Superstars?"
"I'd like that very much. Do you have some sort of idea in mind?"
"I do actually. Apparently Xander had a title made for me when I was in NXT on the off chance that Hunter lost it and let me stay down there. He's bringing it next week. I'd like to make it the new Women's Title if I could. At least until you can get one made. Or if I lose it. I wanted to run it by you first because even though you are more sensible than the rest of the family, I still answer to you"
"Let's do it. I just need you to do me a favor and rally the other girls. I'm sure that they will be all behind you whether they like you or not"
"That I can do. Thanks, Steph" Angel said.
She turned around and walked out. She walked to the gorilla position and looked at the monitor. Angel got there in time to see Charlotte tapping out to the Sharpshooter. Angel couldn't help but smile at the fact that the self-proclaimed Queen was laying on the mat and had been transformed into a bloody mess. Just then, Kristy walked back through the curtain. She was smiling too.
"Nice one. Now, come with me" Angel said.
"Where are we going?" Kristy asked.
"Girls locker room. Before the Battle Royal, I wanted to talk to everyone" Angel said.
Kristy nodded. She followed Angel to where they knew the female talent had their locker room. She walked in and the whole room fell silent. Angel could feel them staring at her. She knew why too. It wasn't often that she came into the female locker room and interacted with the other talent. Usually, they would have to go to her if they needed her help with anything. However, the girls all knew that a lot of it had to do with Undertaker being protective and not because Angel didn't want to be friends or interact with them.
"Well, this is rare. What do you two want?" Nikki Bella snapped at them.
"Girls, I need to talk to all of you for a minute. How would you all feel if we got rid of the term Diva and got rid of this?" Angel asked, holding up the title.
To her surprise, she was met with a rousing cheer. Even from Nikki, who had just ripped her head off for daring to come into the locker room and talk to them. Angel grinned. Then she whistled, calling for quiet again.
"Then I guess it's settled. I know you all have a Battle Royal tonight and I want to wish you all luck. Whoever gets the title shot will have earned it. Next week, I need to get you all together again. Stephanie is having a new title made, but for now, I am getting my own custom title to carry around in the meantime. I would like you all to be there next week when I get it, but you don't have to" Angel said.
"Are you kidding? This is awesome. This had to have been your idea. Right, Angel?" Naomi said.
"Yeah. It's just that...this title doesn't fit me too well" Angel said, blushing slightly.
"So? What brought it on?" Brie Bella asked.
"Well, the term "Diva" refers to a self important, temperamental person who is hard to please. It has very negative connotations to it. It's not anyone in this room. I respect all of you, even if I'm not best friends with you. We all work hard and I think we all deserve to be called Superstars" Angel said.
Again, Angel was met with rousing cheers from everyone. She couldn't help but smile. She wasn't happy because she had gotten her way. She was happy because the other girls had rallied behind her, despite any differences that any of them had with each other. They were all united by the same cause.
"Alright, the Battle Royal is up next, which means I gotta get to ring side. Girls, I just want to say good luck. And thanks for the support on this" Angel said.
The girls all walked over one by one and hugged her. Then she left the room with Kristy. Kristy headed back to their usual locker room while Angel strapped the title around her waist and headed for the ring to be ringside for the Battle Royal.
Angel walked down the hall and headed for Gorilla Position. She waited for her music to hit. When it did, she walked out and then went and sat at the commentary table and just sat there. She didn't bother to put on a headset. She was just there to watch, not to talk. She watched as, one by one, the Women made their way to the ring. Angel got two huge surprises. One was when Kristy's music hit, despite her having had a match earlier in the night with Charlotte. The second surprise came when she heard Jennifer's music hit. Her old best friend turned bitter rival was back again. Then the bell rang.
Angel watched quite intently to see who would win, the whole time running different matches through her mind for the different Women who were in the ring, except for Jen-who she had had matches with before-and Kristy, who she had trained with multiple times. Part of her was hoping that Kristy would win and part of her was hoping that Jen would win just so that the two of them could have another showdown in the ring. Even though Jen had fallen into the same traps her father had fallen into and cleaned up her act, she still seemed as arrogant as ever, walking around the ring like she owned it. Angel rolled her eyes. Arrogant as usual. She thought. Then she watched as one by one, Jen threw everyone from the ring. Before Angel knew it, it was down to just Jen and Kristy. Angel crossed her fingers, hoping that Kristy would win.
Angel watched as the two Women circled each other in the ring. When they stopped, Kristy looked at Angel. No one but Angel herself saw Kristy wink. She nodded in return. Kristy pointed at Angel and then ran her hands across her waist, signalling that she wanted the title.
Jen laughed. Then she pointed to her ears, ran her hands across her waist and then shook her head. Angel growled under her breath. Kristy's eyes widened. She knew what Jen was saying. She didn't feel that Kristy was worthy of holding the Women's Title.
Kristy ran at Jen and hit her with a clothesline. When Jen stood up, Kristy clotheslined her again. Then Kristy picked Jen up and held her up for a suplex. She walked to the edge of the ring and suplexed Jen over the top rope. The bell rang. Kristy had won. Angel got up from her chair and got into the ring. She handed Kristy her hearing aids. Kristy put them in and asked for a microphone.
"For so long...for so long, I've avoided having a match with my best friend. For years, people have been begging Angel and I to have a match and for years, I've always said no. Now, though, it seems like I have no choice. Ang, you're my best friend and my sister no matter what. That title and this match changes nothing. So, while I'm looking forward to this match, you and I had better both bring our A games because I want that new Women's Championship" Kristy said.
Angel stared at her best friend for a second before asking for a microphone of her own. Then she turned to her best friend and took a deep breath.
"Kristy, you're right. We've been best friends since we were thirteen years old. And ever since we've gotten here, everyone has wanted to see us in a match against each other. You have your reasons for saying no all this time and I'm not gonna go into them here since there are some things you deserve to keep private. That being said, I only have two things to say, and it's coming from the heart. One, you had better not back out of this before Night of Champions because if you do, we're gonna have an issue and two, you had better bring your A game because I'll be bringing mine" Angel said.
"I wouldn't expect anything less from you, Ang" Kristy said.
Then the two of them dropped their microphones and left the ring together. When they got back to the back, they were cut off by Jen. She was by herself, but even so, she got up in Angel's face anyway.
"I'm guessing you're not here to say hello. So what's the deal?" Angel asked.
"After you wipe the floor with your little friend, I am taking that Women's Championship, Dead Girl" Jen said.
"One, I'm not gonna "wipe the floor with my little friend". If anything, it's going to be a clinic in technical wrestling and we're going to take each other to the limit if all goes well. And two, if you want this title, you're gonna have to pry it from my hands. Which is something you do not have the ability to do. I could out wrestle you on my worst day. Most of the Women here could I bet. You have got some catching up to do" Angel said.
Then she pushed past Jen and walked off. Kristy followed her and headed back to the locker room. As soon as they walked in, everyone was waiting. One by one, they all hugged Kristy, congratulating her on her big win. Angel slipped into the washroom and showered and changed. Then Kristy took her turn. After that, they all headed back to the hotel. They all knew that they were going to have quite the busy week ahead.
Phew. That was a long one. I hope it was worth the wait. I have sort of an idea of where I wanna go from here, but we shall see. I'm all the way back in 2013, so I'm quite a few years behind here, but hopefully I will either catch up, or do a skip in time. There isn't a lot of stuff that WWE is doing at the moment because of this crazy pandemic even though there are stories going on. Speaking of that, stay safe you guys! I love you all and I hope this makes isolation just a bit better. Lots of Love!~Taker's Soul Girl
