This was not how the day was supposed to go. They were supposed to go to school, get they're homework finished as fast as possible, and then he would surprise her with a nice, private candle-lit dinner at Topanga's, after hours. It was their one-year anniversary and Lucas had spent weeks planning the special night with all of his friends. She knew he had a surprise for her. When it came to what it might be, however, she had no idea, something she hated, because she's hated surprises for as long as she's remembered

Instead, they're on the floor leaning against the hallway lockers right outside of Mr. Matthews' history class, trying to let her recover from nearly fainting moments ago. They had been taking a oral pop quiz, each student standing when called on to give answer. When her father called her name, Riley stood, but her knees grew weak, vision became blurry, and had Lucas's over protective instincts not kicked in, she would've hit the floor right then and there.

"What happened, princess? You seemed fine this morning," Lucas said, stroking her hair as he pulled her closer to him, wanting nothing more than to her to be safe in his arms.

"I just didn't get that much sleep last night," she said, as she sat up, knowing it wasn't true.

"Riles, you said you went to bed at eight."

She sunk back into his arms. "Oh yeah." He knew her better than anyone, and could spot a lie immediately.

"Now, what really happened?"

"I guess I just haven't eaten that much lately."

Lucas looked at her confused as ever. It wasn't like Riley to not eat enough.

"Did you skip breakfast or something?" He asked, his mind thinking the worst, praying he was wrong.

"I might've skipped dinner last night too."

His eyes widened. "Riles, why would you skip two meals in a row? You know that's not healthy. You could get seriously sick."

Tears formed in her eyes as she sat up once again. "I don't know…I guess…It's just… All of the other girls at this school are practically super models. And here I am, "Super-Clutz Riley" dating you. I just don't feel like I'm enough for you."

He sat there in shock. How could she even think that? "Riley Matthews, I'm going to say this and you're going to listen, so listen closely okay?" He asked, sitter up straight in his arms, making sure he had her attention.

"You are so much more than enough for me. Every night I lie in bed and try to comprehend how a girl like you, could even think of being like a guy like me."

"Do you really think I care about what you look like? I love you, for you." He said, lightly poking at her heart.

"And for the record I think you're drop dead gorgeous."
