Sixteen hours after she went into labour, the whole family was finally called into Octavia and Lincoln's room, finding the two of them on the bed, curled around the tiny bundle in Lincoln's arms.
Clarke and her mother leaned tiredly against the wall as the others tiptoed in, no one wanting to be the first to interrupt the awestruck new parents on the bed.
Eventually, Lincoln managed to force his gaze away, towards the crowd of people hovering near the doorway.
"Hey guys, we'd like to introduce you to our daughter." He smiled proudly.
"A girl?!" Lexa exclaimed happily, taking a step towards the bed before stopping herself short.
Octavia laughed and beckoned her closer, "Get over here. But yeah," She continued, as Lexa clambered up on to the end of the bed, "I had my money on a boy, but I guess Lincoln's wish came true."
Grinning, Lincoln smiled down at the sleeping child in his arms, "I just had a feeling, I always imagined myself with a daughter one day."
Following Lexa's example, the rest of them crowded forwards, taking up positions around the bed and cooing over the baby.
Smiling tiredly, Clarke just stood behind Lexa with her hand on her wife's shoulders. "Tell them the name O." She prompted gently, knowing it would be long before they'd need to be kicked out to let the exhausted woman rest.
"Oh yeah!" Octavia shouted, a little too loud as the baby stirred, "Oops, anyway, we started digging through Lexa's library a few weeks back looking for ideas and found a name that could work for either gender, seeing as we both thought differently on that. So, this is Valentina." She grinned tiredly, leaning into Lincoln's side heavily.
After the suitably reactions had been made by the rest of them, Clarke nodded to her mother, who began shepherding Raven and Ontari out of the room, whilst Clarke wrapped her arm around Lexa's waist and pulled her off the bed without giving her chance to protest.
"We'll leave you to rest Octavia, just shout if you need anything, we're just down the hall."
Yawning, Octavia waved a hand, completely fixated on her daughter, "Thanks Clarke, see you later."
As everyone filed out, Lincoln passed Valentina back to Octavia and pressed a kiss to her head, "You should sleep, it's been a hell of a day for you."
"Just a bit longer." Octavia whispered softly, tentatively running a finger over Valentina's head. "Just hold me for a bit."
Wrapping his arms round his family, Lincoln just smiled. A few moments later, he felt Octavia's breathing even out as she slipped into sleep.
