2 Weeks Later...

Over two weeks had passed since the Phantom Lord Guild had been defeated. Afterwards in the past week, much had happened. The Rune Knights had arrived; the Army of the Magic Council, which mostly everyone knew that they'd show up after all of this. They had rounded up everyone and interrogated everybody. However, with the help of Batman and Cyborg who the latter had recorded everything that had happened during the war, it showed the circumstantial evidence and witness reports which all pointed to an attack from Phantom, but what really sealed the deal in Fairy Tail not receiving any sort of punishment was how Cyborg was able to record Jose's entire confession on his reason for attacking the guild and the multiple accounts of vandalism, assault, property damage, and attempted murder that could not only get Phantom into a lot more serious trouble, but also take a lot of pressure off of Fairy Tail. The Rune Knights had heard that the League had single-handedly took down the Jupiter Cannon, took out two of the Element 4 S-Class Wizards, and even fought against one of the Ten Wizard Saints to a standstill. Speaking of Jose, he was currently being escorted to a maximum security prison since he had nearly broken every law between guilds, and had been stripped of his title of being one of the Ten Wizard Saints. Afterwards the Rune Knights had found Fairy Tail innocent partly due to being intimidated with how the Dark Knight presented his case, Phantom Lord was hereby disbanded. After that they just left while saying the council would decide what would happen next.

However that wasn't the only thing that happened during the week. Lucy had apparently felt guilt over what happened and left Fairy Tail to return back home. Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and Team Natsu had found out about this when they went to see her place after she hadn't been seen for hours. The Trinity had gotten to see the inside of her place for the first time, although it was too bad that they got to see it under these circumstances. Anyway, Erza had discovered the letter Lucy left on her desk for anyone that found it. When Natsu and Gray saw it they immediately went nuts, not believing that their friend and teammate had just up and left. They instantly said that all of them should go get her back but Batman to Team Natsu's shock told them that it wouldn't do any good. Natsu had gotten angry and questioned why he would just forget about a dear friend. Batman refuted Natsu's claim by stating that this was a personal matter and if Lucy wants to deal with it on her own, they should let her. He also said that it's not something any of them can expect to help - not if they want to risk making it worse.

This caused tension between the two as Natsu still said that they should be there for her and try to get her to come back cause he felt it wasn't right for her to give up the guild she loves just because of what her father did. Eventually Erza and Wonder Woman split them up with the former berating Natsu and saying that Batman was entitled to his own opinion and that there was reasoning and logic in his words. So they went their separate ways as Team Natsu went to find Lucy while the Trinity stayed back in town.

Hours later, Team Natsu came back with Lucy who revealed that she didn't quit Fairy Tail but had left to face her father and finally tell him off which she felt she succeeded in doing. Superman applauded her for finally standing up for herself before she said that she heard the reasons why he, Batman, and Wonder Woman didn't go with team Natsu and thanked Batman for respecting her private matter. After that Natsu gave a small apology and everything began going back to normal.

After those events had transpired, everyone was now working on rebuilding the Guild. Of course, Orion had offered to use his Mother Box to restore it to normal but to his surprise Makarov had declined. When asked why, he said that this was a perfect opportunity to make some nice changes and additions to the guild. They had enough jewels saved up in the guild for the development of a brand new guild hall. Everyone liked and accepted the idea except for Natsu who complained that they didn't need any changes and the guild was fine the way it was. However no one paid him any mind since he was completely outvoted.

The Badlands, Inside the Hall of Doom...

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

"Oh, how I never get tired of watching this show. I swear you can't get better cable in this world than this," The Joker said out loud as he rewinded the footage of the entire Fairy Tail and Phantom Lord war to a part he loved seeing. "Well that was quite the entertaining show don't you think Lexy?" Joker said amusingly while scooping up a handful of popcorn and eating it as if he was watching a movie. "The Justice Losers' new playmates look like real fun don't they?"

"Perhaps," Luthor who was standing alongside Ra's and Vandal in front of the screen reluctantly admitted it. "But regardless we've seen plenty of the Justice League's capabilities and those of their allies they have joined up with in this guild." He then pressed a few buttons as a screen displayed Ultra Humanite sitting in front of a computer screen. "Did you acquire all the data Humanite?"

The albino ape turned to where the camera was and gave a satisfied nod. "Not all but certainly enough for a working start. Thanks to our drones' observations we have gathered the data on this Fairy Tail's abilities, analyzed nearly everyone of their members' capabilities, recorded their types of magic, combat skills and a few other things as well." Ultra Humanite said in a tone of interest as he was looking over the unique data on each member of Fairy Tail and their readings on magic power.

"And what about their precious guild master and that spell he used?" Savage questioned after seeing that large display of power.

"Oh yes, that little midget turned giant." Joker remarked remembering him from when he attacked Phantom Lord's base. "Man he was fun to watch. I especially enjoyed the part when he got bigger and all those Phantom losers were screaming and running for their lives while shouting 'HE'S A MONSTER! HA HA HA HA HA!" he said while laughing at how hilarious it was for the Clown Prince of Crime. He always did find panic to be entertaining, there was just something about seeing people lose it, that always put a smile on his face.

Ultra Humanite didn't answer right away as he simple stared at Joker in contemplation. He still didn't know why someone like Vandal or Luthor would keep someone like him on his side. Joker had always been a wild card, and there was still a chance that the clown would undo everything they had worked for. "Well I've compiled a list of data on that technique they called Fairy Law. It's truly a fascinating technique. It's a type of distortion that follows the users will by unleashing a fearsome light that extracts the magic, physical strength and will to fight to fight from those they see as enemies. It has a tremendous covering range making evasion or defending against it virtually impossible. It's almost like the perfect offensive technique. It brings no harm to the landscape or structures of civilization, only wiping out enemies and can even restore the strength of the caster's allies."

"There is no such thing as perfection. Have you come up with a way for us to protect ourselves from that spell?" The ancient conqueror questioned only to receive a shake of the head from the ape.

"Not right now but in time I'm sure I will have something. After all, magic is something we have yet to fully understand." Humanite remarked regarding magic as being unpredictable and not to be trusted, "However I can't come up with a proper counter method from just this data. I'll need more to develop a more proper method."

"That won't be a problem. We'll continue to have our drones observe them and gather more data." Luthor easily answered while typing a few things on another screen. "Besides we've seen that most of the Justice League's allies in that guild are nothing but inexperienced children who would pose no threat to our operations… however," he said while pressing one button as images of Erza, Natsu, Gray, and Makarov appeared on screen. "These four may prove to be quite the nuisance for us."

"Oh please," a childish voice rang out, as red energy leaked out from Savage's ring. Revealing a scraggy boy with long, thin limbs, a thin neck and an angular face. He had black hair in a mop-top style with V-shaped bangs and devil-horns rising over the ears to points slightly above the top of his head. Along with his pointed crown, these devil horns gave him a distinctive three-pointed silhouette. He had arched eyebrows and sideburns that taper to a point. He also had long, sharp, black fingernails. His clothes were formal, and predominantly black but include a white shirt with a tall, stiff collar. On top of this he wears a black skinny tie low on the collar, black skinny trousers and pointed shoes, as well as a distinctive jacket. The jacket resembles a standard suit jacket around the chest and shoulders, although it has long sleeves with flared, pointed cuffs, and the jacket's skirt was similarly long about mid-thigh length and shaped so that it comes to a point at the front. The jacket was fastened with two short button straps around the waist. This was Klarion the Witch Boy, a Lord of Chaos, "Their magic might be somewhat impressive, but it's still nothing compared to the magic in our universe. I can outdo that old fart's baby magic in a snap."

"Perhaps you do have a point, Klarion." Vandal said calmly, "But still, we can't take any chances. Deathstroke, I have in need of your services once more."

"Fine so what do you want me to do, go back to gathering intel?" The Terminator questioned having already arrived.

However to his surprise Savage shook his head as a certain smirk grew on his face. "Not right now, our spy bots can keep gathering info on the Justice League and their allies. I have a special assignment for you today."

Deathstroke raised an eyebrow in growing interest and curiosity. "So what is it then?"

Savage began to speak the assignment Deathstroke was going to be given and when he did a ghost of a smirk began to grow underneath his mask as he really liked what he was hearing. When Savage finished telling him the job, Deathstroke now appeared to have a look of satisfaction on his face.

"Understood. In fact I'll leave right now because I can't wait and I could use some fresh air." the mercanary remarked before he turned and left as he headed for the hanger where his hover bike was kept.

Once he left Vandal walked to his seat like throne which Joker had been using to watch the footage before he sat down and put his hands together in thought as he saw that his plans were beginning to form and one day soon, he would be ready to launch the first attack. However there was still much to do, things to learn and many more things to acquire before that day came.

"If I may interject Vandal, but I'm confused about something." Humanite sudden spoke up getting the conquerors attention.

"What is it?" he questioned.

"The Justice League as well as the members of this Fairy Tail are all tired with the latter injured, so why is it that you don't just launch an attack against them now?" Humanite questioned since this seemed like the perfect opportunity to finally rid themselves of their hated foes.

Suddenly Savage began to chuckle, "While it is indeed true that this seems like the perfect moment to strike back, the fact remains that we still don't know enough about this world to act. Besides after what happened I'm sure those foolish members of this Magic Council will be sending their military to deal with the incident of their pitiful clash of guilds. So for now we will remain out of sight and continue to observe them. But once we've gathered all the data we need and our remaining allies have arrived, then we'll begin our plans to dominate this world and eliminate the Justice League."

"Hmph, I didn't think you would be patient enough to wait," Luthor remarked considering he knew Vandal was rather the impatient type.

"When taking over a world with limited resources one needs to adapt to the situation and change tactics. I know that from experience," Savage commented with a condescending smirk as he waited for Deathstroke to return from his special assignment.

Elsewhere, Far Away in a Mountain Area...

On a pathway leading to a secret base was a prison wagon being driven by two drivers and accompanied by over twenty members of the Rune Knights high ranked soldiers, about sixteen men and four women. They were each a squad leader of a small battalion who were sent on a mission to ensure the prison transport of a dangerous criminal who's been recently branded as one.

"I can't believe we were all dragged into doing this prison transport mission." A male Rune Knight said in annoyance.

"Quit your whining and act with some professionalism why don't you?" A female Rune Knight shot a glare at the complaining member of the team.

"Hmp, I don't even know why we're bothering moving this guy to a maximum security prison. The man hasn't said a word since he was brought in." The complaining knight remarked.

"Even if he's in a state of shock or something, he's still considered a threat to the public. That's why we must make sure he's secured in the most fortified prison we have." Another male Rune Knight replied. He was wearing a helmet that hid his hair and had yellow eyes that were honed from experience.

"That's why we're all here, to make sure he arrives with no trouble. After all since he may still have associates on the outside we're here to ensure he does not escape from us." Another female knight answered..

Inside the prison wagon was the prisoner they were transporting who remained silent. He had pale skin and grey hair like an old man and his body was slightly shaking fearfully as he was still traumatized from his experience.

After his defeat at Makarov's hands they had apprehended him, Sol and Aria of the Element Four. The other two Totomaru of the Flame and Juvia of the Rain had escaped and vanished before they could be arrested. Jose had been found where Makarov left him shielding himself and appearing catatonic.

Inside, Jose was sitting on a bench chained up to the floor and wall, even though it didn't seem necessary. His hands were chained in special magic blocking cuffs that prevented him from using any kind of magic and were made of a sturdy alloy that he couldn't break through normal methods. His hair and skin were still pale with his body still shaking as well, horrified due to the effects of whatever Fairy Law did to him. But on the inside however, his mind was still functioning and contemplating. He had been beaten and humiliated by those weak Fairy Tail fools and Makarov… but what really made him angry for blood, was the fact that a group of wizards who weren't even S-Class, had somehow managed to destroy his Jupiter Cannon, defeat two of his Element 4 Mages and had somehow managed to put up a fight against him and actually bring him to his knees. That had to be the only explanation for how he was easily beaten.

His frightened form began to shiver, as he asked himself, "How? How did those costumed fools beat me? How?" but then, it finally clicked in, as he remembered a certain message the council had sent him a few weeks back asking to report if he knew the whereabouts of a group that went by the name the Justice League that had been making a name for themselves lately in Fiore. Suddenly his mind processed what he had just discovered as his head careened upward, as his frightened eyes went wide and bloodshot, "It was that Justice League!"

Suddenly, he heard loud sounds emanating from the outside as he turned his head in perplexity. What he heard where the sounds of the Rune Knights shouting something before he heard the sound of magic attacks being fired followed by small explosions. The sounds continued as he heard the Rune Knights voices shouting in many ways. There were screams and shouts of agony. In time he heard the voices beginning to disappear one by one as they seemed to be silenced. Finally when it was over, silence filled the room as he wondered if it was a former member of Phantom Lord that had come to rescue him.

Jose slowly stood up from his seat, his body no longer shaking as his eyes seemed to have regained some of their light back to his old self as he waited to see if he was going to be saved or if this was something worse.

As if someone heard his thoughts, the doors to the wagon received a large dent before they were torn clean of their hinges and thrown to the side as light flooded the inside as Jose covered his eyes from the sudden entrance of light as his eyes adjusted to see who had opened them.

In front of him was a figure dressed in orange and black armor and a bizarre looking metal mask with the same colors that looked fiendish in nature.

"W… who… Who are you?" Jose questioned weakly as he was still nowhere near full strength.

The figure didn't answer him as he silently walked towards him and once he got in front of him he raised his hand as if he was going to strike him down.

Reacting fearfully Jose covered himself with his arms in a feeble attempt to defend himself when the figure suddenly brought his sword down and cut the chains holding his arm. Jose opened his eyes in surprise after hearing the sounds of snapping only to see him do the same thing to the magic blocking cuff's on his hands and then to the ones tying his legs which just left the shackles and some small chains still attacked to them.

"Follow me." The figure said in a mysterious deep voice as Jose followed him outside the vehicle to see what became of the Rune Knight's. It was then when he stepped out that he saw that the Rune Knights had all been massacred. Many of them were either frozen to the bone, burned, butchered, broken, gutted, even reduced to ashes with only their clothes being all that remained; it was like something out of a horror movie. The culprits of this vile act consisted of a woman with white hair wearing a blue leotard, a man in a black divers outfit with his helmet having large red eyes, a purple humanoid covered in white stripes, a reptilian humanoid that resembled a crocodile, and a purple armored man with a purple flaming skull for a head. Needless to say, Jose was horrified by this carnage.

"Like what me and my associates have done with them?" the masked man asked Jose who didn't really answer other than just nodding. "You asked me who I was before." He said before he removed his mask revealing a middle aged man with white hair and a goatee with an eyepatch over his right eye. "Well my name's Slade and from this point on you can consider me your new best friend." The now revealed Deathstroke said wittingly to the unsettled Jose.

AN: Hello everyone, I know this chapter is short but it's better than not updating at all right? Think of this as more of an interlude chapter before we get to the next arc. Watching Young Justice: Outsiders and reading Scott Snyder's run on Justice League has motivated me in getting back to this story. Especially in regards to what the Legion of Doom's goal is. For you comic book readers, this story is meant to take place in the DC Rebirth continuity with the events of Dark Nights Metal and No Justice having already happened but it ignores events such as Heroes in Crisis and Dr. Manhattan interfering with the timeline, which means that the Justice Society is still around. Plus this story ignores Brian Michael Bendis and Tom King's run on Superman and Batman with Superman's son still being and a kid and Batman and Catwoman's marriage if there's any chance some of you have been keeping up with the comics as of late. Basically I've decided that this story's plot is going to be a loose adaptation of the current Year of the Villain event in the comics with some elements of Young Justice included as well. So, I hope you look forward to what's in store.
