Leia's Realistic Reaction

Disclaimer: I don't own.

"Luke, tell me. What's troubling you?" Leia asked.

Luke decided she had a right to know. "Vader's here, now, on this moon."

"How do you know?"

"I felt his presence. He's come for me. He can feel when I'm near. That's why I have to go. As long as I stay, I'm endangering the group and our mission here. I have to face him."

"Why?"

Luke hesitated for a moment. "He's my father."

"Your father?" she asked in shock.

"There's more. It won't be easy for you to hear it, but you must."

Leia held up a hand. "Wait. I'm still processing the bit you already told me. You mean the guy who's been trying to kill us for the past four years, the guy who cut off your hand, the guy who tortured me on the Death Star, the guy who killed General Kenobi…is your father?"

"Yes. And if you're having such a hard time with that, you really aren't going to like what else I have to tell you. You see, if I don't make it back, you're the only hope for the Alliance."

"I likely won't. And, Luke, don't talk that way. You have a power I don't understand and could never have."

"You're wrong, Leia. You have that power too. In time you'll learn to use it as I have." He stopped for a few moments, just thinking. "The Force is strong in my family. My father has it. I have it. And…my sister has it." He paused to let that sink in. "Yes. It's you, Leia."

"Wait….we're siblings?" she shrieked.

"Yes, I'm afraid we are."

"But-but-but-we-we-we-we've kissed!"

"I know."

"Multiple times!"

"I know."

"That is…"

"Disgusting?"

"Yes!"

"Revolting?"

"Completely!"

"Nauseating?"

"Quite!" She stopped. "When-when did you find out?"

"When I went back to Dagobah after we rescued Han. Ben appeared to me and told me."

"Why did we know this? Why didn't he tell us?"

"He thought it would be better that way."

Leia suddenly gasped. "Wait. If you're my brother, and Vader's your father, then that means that…."

"Vader's your father, too?"

"Yes." She covered her mouth. "I was tortured by my own father? My own father forced me to watch the destruction of my home planet?"

"It appears so." He bit his lip. "If it's of any comfort, I don't think he knows about you. Ben said as much."

"It's not of much."

"Now, at least, you know why I have to face him."

"No! Luke, run away! Far away!" she urged. "If he can feel your presence, then leave this place! I wish I could go with you."

"No, you don't. You've always been strong." He cocked his head. "I wonder which of us is older?"

She chuckled. "Rather off topic, but I bet I am."

"You might very well be. You certainly do act like a bossy big sister."

She shoved him. "Seriously, though, Luke, why must you confront him?"

"Because there is good in him. I've felt it. He won't turn me over to the Emperor. I can save him. I can turn him back to the good side. I have to try."

"Good in him? He tortured his own daughter! He froze the man his daughter is in love with in carbonite! He cut off his son's hand! He murdered the entire Jedi order!"

"What?"

"You didn't know that?"

"Uh, no…?"

"I suppose it wouldn't have been part of the standard Imperial curriculum. My father, Bail, I mean, made sure I knew the truth about the Jedi and the Republic."

Luke nodded before hugging his sister (he had contemplated kissing her forehead, but, considering their history, he decided not to) and beginning to walk away.

"Luke!" she called after him. He turned back. "Do-do you know who our mother was?"

"No, I'm afraid Ben didn't tell me."

She nodded, and he left. She stood alone for a few minutes, trying to absorb the information that the boy she had kissed was in fact her brother. "That is so gross. And nasty."

A/N: So, here's Leia's more realistic reaction to the news of her family. Hope you enjoyed!

Should I do another one for Vader realizing Leia is his daughter?
