CH11: Quiescent...

Hermione's POV

What we do is secret…

To say that Jackson was pissed the next morning was an understatement.

"Jackson what happened?" His mother called to him as he threw a fit in his room, tossing poor ole Matt's camera aside with disgust.

"Nothing happened," he said loudly enough for her to hear before adding softly. "nothing at all…"

"...ok...well you know your father and I are heading out now, be safe and we love you."

"Yeah." Was Jackson's response before he fell back into his bed.

I waited until I could hear the front door closing before shifting back. "You know you could tell them that you love them back…"

He cut his eyes at me. "Mione, I'm in the middle of a crisis here."

I rolled my eyes. "No you're not, you're in the middle of over reacting."

"Nothing happened last night, there's nothing on this stupid fucking camera except me sleeping."

"Jackson did you forget that I was here, with you, all last night?"

"No but-" He paused taking in my words before his eyes lightened "Yes...yes you were, so tell me what happened?"

"What happened is, you transformed some time after the moon reached its peak, then you left. Because I'm such a good friend I followed after you in my animaious form. You snooped into a lot of places you didn't belong but thank goodness nothing else happened."

He raised an eyebrow. "Were you expecting something to happen?"

I shrugged trying to look casual. "I mean, you could have killed someone…"

He scoffed. "I'm not Isaac."

I narrowed my eyes, my tone a tad accusing. "You don't even remember."

"Yeah about that, why is it that I don't remember this happening?" Jackson asked with a frown.

I shrugged. "Honestly I don't know, my uncle doesn't recall his moonlit shifts either if that makes you feel any better."

He was silent for a moment before his frown faded. "Actually yeah it does...otherwise I might feel like a freak or an abomination."

"You are not an abomination!" I snapped venomously making Jackson throw his hands up in surrender.

"Ok ok, don't bite my head off."

"I just, I'm sorry, but just don't ever talk about yourself like that."

"Ok" He said softly. The two of us were silent for a moment basking in the rays of the morning sun before Jackson jolted like he was struck by lightning. "Danny!"

"Danny?"

He nodded going over to the camera he had tossed aside like garbage. "Danny's pretty good at this camera shit, he can figure out what the hell happened to my video."

I nodded slowly. "Ok…"

He sighed. "Yet I'm sensing a but…"

"I'm just wondering...if Danny is as good as you say, that means he'll be able to recover the missing footage...he'll be able to see your transformation...so the question is are you ok with that?"

And Jackson paused in his movements. "Huh, your right."

"...and are you ok with that?" I asked curiously.

"I...I'm not sure. I mean I'm ok with you, obviously, but Danny…." He trailed off, his face becoming pensive.

"Well how bout this, we have time, it's the weekend, let's take a break from all this yeah?"

He seemed like he was ready to argue but gave in. "Alright. We can put aside my transformation till I figure out if I can live with Danny knowing my secret...but I'm not putting aside all supernatural talk."

His eyes glittered. "Show me more of your hocus pocus!"

I rolled my eyes. "Fine, but first I'll go home and shower."

He pouted, lunging at me and wrapping me in his arms as he whined "No, why? You can just shower here."

We rolled around for a bit before I pulled from his arm. "Jack, I have no clothes here."

"I have clothes for you." He said, scrambling towards his closet before pulling out a small pile of female's clothes.

I immediately frowned. At my unspoken question he spoke.

"These are things that I had picked out for Lydia once upon a time...things she hated, because she said they didn't fit her style."

My frown didn't leave. You want me to walk around in your ex-girlfriend's clothes...are you an idiot?"

His eyes rolled over my figure. "You and her are around the same size, she didn't even wear them, the tags are still on them."

I looked at some of the clothes before pulling out a deep burgundy velvet dress with a black peter pan styled collar and short sleeves.

I held the dress to myself before nodding. "Alright fine, I'll shower here, but I'm going to stay longer. I'll need clothes, that are more my style."

"Then we'll go to the mall."

"That means I'm going first," She said before flashing into his bathroom hearing him curse.

She took her shower not minding smelling like Jackson, he didn't use axe or anything like that but rather had an almond scented body wash. She used a wandless scroogify on her panties before putting them and her bra back on; she pulled a dark pair of knee high sock styled tights from the bag as well as throwing on the dress before magicing her hair dry.

"You gonna do something to that lion's mane?" Jackson asked after he finished his shower and dressing.

I looked at my hair that was well, everywhere, before shrugging. "Eh."

He sighed before sitting on the bed next to me and began gathering my thick curls into his hand. I let out a purr snuggling closer to him as he ran his finger through my scalp and pouted when he stopped. "There."

I looked to see that he had managed to get all my hair into a relatively neat ponytail. "Hm...are you sure you're not the one whose magic?"

We took a drive around town in Jackson's four door pickup truck because I was tired of riding in his porsche. He had decided that it was about time that I actually got the full town tour of this in his words shitty town.

Jackson was a well of information. I figured that because most people tended to think he was just a meat-head jock too arrogant to care about anything but himself and lacrosse, that he didn't take note of any of the town's juicy gossip.

"Hey, wait, pull over." I said, noticing a blonde dragging her bike that seemed to have not one but two flats.

"Mione this is supposed to be our day…" He whined.

"Jack everyday is our day, now quickly pull over before you completely pass her up." I said and he sighed as she pulled over.

"Hey!" I called out to the girl who's head snapped my way. "Needa a lift?"

"Mione..." Jackson growled but I was already out of the passenger side door, free falling from the side of the truck because it was that big...or as Jackson liked to say I was that short.

"Hey" I called out to her again when my feet touched the ground before I jogged over to her. I blinked as I got a good look at her. She was a familiar face in several of my classes. "Oh, um your Erin Reyes right?"

"Her names Erica, idiot." Jackson said as he stood beside me as I flushed with embarrassment, not noticing how Erica herself flushed at the fact that Jackson even knew her name.

"Oh, I'm sorry Erica," I said scratching my cheek. "Please forgive me, I'm not always the best with names but I never forget a face especially a pretty one-"

I flushed again when I realized what I said even as Jackson snickered. "I'm sorry I - I'm gonna just stop talking-"

"Not likely." Jackson snickered.

"Shut up!" I growled at him before taking a deep sigh and looking back at the blonde. "So needa ride home?"

Erica's face held a pretty pink tint to her cheeks as she looked between us before responding in a soft voice. "I-its ok, I got it besides I-I'm not heading home."

"Alright, see ya." Jackson said with a shrug before he started walking away until I reached up just as fast gripping his shirt to stop him.

"Where are you headed?" I asked uncaring at the moment that I was being incredibly nosey.

"T-the mall..."

My eyes I could feel lightened at her admission. "Oh really, so are we! We can give you a lift there, walking on foot while hauling a bike can't be any fun-"

"Hermione." Jackson said and I looked at him from the use of my full name, he was frowning. "She already said no, don't be annoying."

"But we are heading the same way. It just seems illogical to not travel together." I whined.

"You can't just force your company on other people." Jackson countered.

"How else am I supposed to expand our friend circle, all you want to talk to is Danny, barely."

He stepped into my personal bubble, glaring down at me. "Because we don't need anyone else!"

"See it's when you say things like this that force me to work over time with making more friends." I said with a sigh.

He threw his hands into the air. "Forcing her to do something she doesn't want to do is like a step away from kidnapping."

I huffed crossing my arms as I looked away from him. "Don't be so dramatic, our situation hasn't become so drastic that I would have to resort to that, yet."

"The hell do you mean yet?!" Jackson said grasping my shoulders and shaking me which made me stretch out his name like a child. "But Jaacckk..."

They both looked over when we caught the sound of laughter. When Erica realized that we were watching her she sobered up shrinking into herself like she was afraid we would hit her. "S-sorry."

I smiled at her. "No its ok, so about that lift?"

"For the love of-" Jackson was cut off when I reached up and slapped my hand over his mouth

"W-well…" She said looking at her flat wheeled bike before down the road where towards the mall. "Y-you really don't mind?"

"Of course I don't, and neither does Jackson," I said, removing my hand to walk over to her and grasp her hands. "Jackson can also put your bike in the back before he drives us all to the mall."

"Oh I can?" He snarks. "Since when did I become a chauffeur?"

"Yeah, don't be a tosser, you were technically already driving me around, be a gentleman,'' I said, not even glancing his way.

He scoffed but did pick up her bike and tossed it into the back of his truck. "Whatever."

"Great come on Erica," I said pulling her towards the passenger side. "You should sit in the middle because-"

"No, you should sit in the middle because your shortest." Jackson said cutting me off from the drivers side.

I pouted. "Fine." I narrowed my eyes on the truck before I began the climb to get in it.

I grunted as I grasped for the seat belt to further help pull myself in when I felt Jackson's arms encircle mine and pull me further into the truck. "Ah thanks."

Erica had less trouble getting in, but she missed a step and slipped a little bit, her face was tinted pink as she looked at me when my arm shot out catching her own with a soft smile.

"Its ok, when I was first getting in it was a good thing Jackson was behind to catch me because I sooner found myself sliding right on out again."

"Yeah she ended up sitting on my face." He added as we drove off making me laugh.

"S-sitting on y-your face!?" Her pink cheek getting darker as she eyes my bare thighs.

The ride wasn't awkward, for the reason alone being I refused to let her sink into herself. Questions after question were asked, and when I skirted the line of being too intrusive, Jackson would squeeze my thigh saying my full name in warning but I was stubborn and would redirect and then rephrase my initial question.

The trip to the mall was just as fun, the three of us looking so out of place with each other. Me being a chaotic ball of demanding energy with my arms wrapped around Jackson who glared at anybody-male in particular that stared too long in our direction and a skittish Erica, leading them to everywhere I wanted while asking what they wanted to do too.

"Oh that skirt would look so good on you!" I said and Erica squeaked dropping the black mini skirt that she had been fingering with a smile.

She began mumbling incoherently but I wasn't paying attention as I picked up the skirt and held it against her.

"Yeah, you would look really great but come on let's try it on." I said grabbing her wrist and pulling her up with strength that she really didn't see coming. On the way to the fitting room I grabbed a leather leather jacket that was in her size, while she grabbed a pair of cute leopard heeled shoes and a distressed white tank top.

"I-I don't know." She said looking at her reflection.

"You obviously like it and your legs look so great with the shoes and the skirt, seriously you should get the outfit." When she still looked hesitant I frowned. "Why do you hesitant?"

"I-I don't know, it's just what if people make fun of me? What if they say I'm trying too hard I can't take anymore-" She trailed off as before quickly stripping from the clothes.

I frowned. "Erica, you shouldn't let anyone stop you from expressing yourself. It can be hard, I know this from experience."

"Y-you have these problems too?" She said looking me over with a look of disbelief.

"Yeah, before I came here, I went to a boarding school in Scotland. I was bullied a lot because I'm incredibly brilliant and also competitive...so I come off as a bit a know-it-all to my peers who are not so much interested in academics as they are with sports or who's making out with who. And my hair was also a fun target for many, sometimes it has a life of its own and honestly if it weren't for Jackson dealing with it this morning you would know what I mean. People can also say I'm incredibly bossy, pushy and sometimes I can be very blase and ruthless...but while these aren't the only things that make me, they are still very much what make me, Hermione, and I wouldn't give them up to please anyone."

Erica stared at me in shock.

I placed my hand on her shoulder. "What I'm trying to say is all you can be is you so why would you try to be anyone else. If you like that skirt and those heels then you should wear it. If it makes you happy, go for it."

"And now, I'm about to be incredibly intrusive and bossy." I plucked the clothes from her hands. "I'm buying these for you."

"W-wait-" I ignored her taking her items and my own purchases, not surprised Jackson had been listening as he fell in step beside me with his own items he waited to purchase.

I cleared my throat, making the attendant tear her eyes from Jackson. "I would like these please."

"Cash, credit or debit?" She said blandly.

I winced. "...Ah."

I didn't think these things through. When I had left home, sure I had grabbed a nice full bag of galleons but I didn't have any muggle money, mum didn't keep any in the house and I had forgotten to ask my uncle who was probably the one who carried it anyway.

Jackson sighed before slapping down a couple bills as he tossed his own things with my own with an imperious. "Ring it all up together."

"I'll pay you back." I muttered noting how much my items were.

"In what? Gold coins?" He whispered with a smirk.

I frowned. "No, my god father must know of a bank around her that deals with our kind. I can get the money I did bring converted into what is the currency here?" I could feel my face heating up, at the fact that I actually didn't know what kind of money they used in america. Even Deaton gave me my paycheck in wizarding money... "I-it's not in pounds, is it?"

"No, Mione." He said resting his chin in my hair. "We deal in US dollars."

Mortified at my idiocracy I whispered. "Right, I'll get my money converted to us dollars." And made a mental note to read upon more about us currency.

"Don't worry about it, it's not a big deal."

I crossed my arms. "I'm paying you back, I don't like feeling indebted to anyone."

Jackson rolled his eyes pulling away to get his change. "It's just money...but whatever makes you feel better."

I handed Erica her bag as she gave me an exasperated smile. "You didn't have too."

"I know, but I wanted too, besides now you can't return it because that would be an insult to Jackson." I said with a large smile, my hand splayed across Jackson's chest.

"W-what?!" She looked at Jackson. "Y-you bought this? B-but you didn't have too."

Jackson looked at her before rolling his eyes. "It's not a big deal."

"B-but I just c-can't-" She began before he cut her off.

"Mione thinks you'll look great, I hope I can see what she was talking about soon." He said and Erica's face burned an even brighter red but she stopped resisting.

We continued our mall trip looking at all sorts of things, before Erica got a call from her parents letting her know that it was time for her to come home.

"I didn't know you could speak Spanish." I said my eyes shining.

She nodded. Yes, m-my parents are Spaniards, I w-was originally born i-in Spain but we moved here because of my aunt...its kinda kind of a long story."

"You don't have to tell us." Jackson said shooting me a look and making me pout.

"Oh," I said. "but now that means we can speak Spanish together."

"You speak?!" Erica said a little shocked.

"Yes, my mother taught me when I was younger." I said in her native tongue.

Erica's eyes brightened, she sat up straighter and seemed over all more confident as she switched to her native language. "Your mother is Spanish too?"

"No, she is french, but our family is an old one with semi traditional views." I said with an eye roll. "One such as myself should know more than the common tongue spoken which in Britain naturally is English."

She nodded with seemingly complete understanding. "I see, well your Spanish is very good, you speak so fluently."

I flushed. "Thank you."

"Not that this insist riveting but can you both switch back to English for the non fluent Spanish speakers." Jackson droned making Erica flush and me laugh.

"Ok." I said to him before looking at Erica with a sly smirk. "He can get so greedy, it's cute."

I yelped when Jackson pinched me.

"Why?" I whined.

"Because I'm not fluent but I can just tell that last bit was about me." Jackson huffed and Erica laughed again.

We were almost back to her home when her stomach made its presence known, my grin just widened. "We should get food~"

"B-but I have to get home." Erica said.

"Surely we can't send you off with an empty stomach." I countered.

Jackson's hand was back on my thigh. "Hermione."

I waved my hand in dismissal. "I'm sure your parents will understand-"

He squeezed his tone reprimanding. "Hermione."

She glared up at him. "Jackson we can't just let her starve."

"She's not staving!" He returned my sharp look before gesturing out the window. "And we're already at her house!"

I looked out the window to see that yes we had arrived to her destination "That doesn't matter!"

"Um guys p-please don't fight and H-Hermione it's ok, madre wanted me home because she has made dinner. S-So it is ok, we can always eat together next time, right?"

I turned towards her, my eyes glimmering. "How about tomorrow then?"

Erica's eyes widened. "T-tomorrow?"

"That's what is said." I sassed.

"Hermione." Jackson growled out.

I sighed. "I mean to say, if your not doing anything else."

"Well no-"

"Great then we'll pick you up." I said snatching her phone from her hands and putting in my phone number. "I have your number and now you have mine, ill text you the time ok?"

"O-ok"

"Great, see you tomorrow Erica." I chirped.

"What?" I asked after we drove off from watching her disappear into a Spanish styled home that was not quite as high end as Jackson's but certainly much better than the other houses surrounding it.

"What the hell was today?" He asked as he pulled off into the beacon hills reserve. and parked his truck.

I moved to exit but his hand on my thigh made me pause and look back to see his unyielding expression. "Us expanding our circle."

"Why?"

I pursed my lips. "Because shes blonde, cute and alone..."

"Yeah, and so is Lahey, but you don't see me going out of my way to befriend him." She blinked at his words. She stared at him from beneath her lashes used to him invading her personal space as he practically laid on top of her. "Now tell me the real reason your suddenly talking to her."

"Jackson, you can't have a pack of just two people." She said evenly and when his eyes widen in shock at what he figured out she was do she continued. "A pack is at the minimum three."

"And you think Erica would be suitable to be apart of our pack?" He said thoughtfully, he still hadn't moved an inch away from me though.

"I think she'd fit nicely between us...that is unless you'd prefer Issac, I don't mind either." I could feel my eyes twinkling "or perhaps you would like both? what an interesting sandwich we'd make then...I suppose with my magic we could all fit in your bed."

He cut his eyes at me even a his cheek tinted pink a. "Are you being funny?"

"On the contrary, I'm being completely serious, my kind don't even blink an eye at polygamy as long as all participants consent. in fact if a witch or wizard carry strong magic or duel family magics, polygamous marriage contracts are drawn."

"Mione!" His blush had spread to his ears and she grinned before switching topics.

"But seriously, packs are integral for all magical creatures, not just wolves...even reptilians are not solitary creatures all the time." She said softly. "Also you probably don't want one bigger than ten, that's a lot of people to be accountable for after all."

His eyes flashed yellow as his fingers trailed over my face tenderly. "You are integral to me, you know that?"

I nodded feeling suddenly rather meek under such an intense gaze. "So, about Erica?"

He sighed before nodded. "I'll follow your lead. If you think she'd be a good fit, then I trust you...though I am concerned, she's human so how does that work?"

I grinned. "I'm glad you asked~"

And so enters Erica. And I must say I'm actually soft for her.

I feel like in the show, she got written off so shitty, her, Boyd and even to an extent Issac, but seriously don't even get me started, cause I won't be able to shut up.

...

I pretty much stopped watching teen wolf at 3b.

Season 4 I watched like bits and pieces, my knowledge of season 4 has big ass holes in it.

season 5 all i know is : Theo is a hottie who's naughty, stiles kinda but not really accidentally killed someone, Scott pissed me off being hypocritical and there was like a big ass wolf. Literally that's it.

season 6 and beyond don't even register in my brain.

As stated before as the chapters progress slowly but surely things from canon will be tossed out, just givin ya'll fair warning~
