The Arrival.

"It's a girl," the healer announced with a smile as she passed the newborn over to a waiting medi-witch.

"A girl," Draco Malfoy gasped, beaming down at his exhausted wife, Hermione Granger. "We've got a little girl, Hermione."

"It's amazing," Hermione said with a weary smile. She and Draco had chosen not to find out the sex of their child, so the fact they'd had a little girl had been a suspire for them. "You're not disappointed, are you?" she checked with her husband.

"How can I be disappointed? She's gorgeous," Draco cooed as the medi-witch carefully handed him his newborn daughter.

"I guess the Malfoy name will have to wait until next time to be continued," Hermione chuckled.

"We'll soon find out," the healer remarked. "I know you're tired Hermione, but it's time to go again."

"Again?" Draco queried, sharing a bemused look with his wife.

"Baby number two is on its way," the healer replied calmly.

"Baby number two?" Hermione screeched. "What baby number two?"

"You're having twins," the healer said in bewilderment. "Didn't you know?"

"Does it look like we knew this?" Draco questioned, groping for a chair and sitting down with a thud.

"How could you not know?" the medi-witch asked.

"I don't know, but now is not the time," the healer said as Hermione let out a loud cry. "We've got a second baby to deliver."

With very little time to digest what was happening, Draco handed his daughter back to the medi-witch and supported his wife as she delivered their unexpected surprise. Half an hour later, the Malfoys had been blessed by a baby boy and as Hermione held her children for the first time, she wondered just what the hell had happened. How had she been expecting twins, and no-one had informed her?

"I've never seen anything like it," the healer admitted. "But your notes are clear. It's been known since your first scan that you were expecting twins. Didn't the healer you saw in France tell you any of this?"

"Not that I recall," Draco muttered. Their early healer appointments had taken place in France as it was where they'd been living when they'd discovered Hermione's pregnancy, but they'd chosen to move home so they were raising their child at home, surrounded by their friends and family. "And it couldn't have been a language barrier as both Hermione and I are fluent in French. No-one told us. I swear they didn't."

"But why didn't no-one here pick up on it?" Hermione asked. "I've had plenty of scans and check-ups since we moved home, and no-one mentioned twins. Although I guess it explains why I was as big as a house."

"I can only apologise," the healer said remorsefully. "In future, I will make sure every pregnant witch I deal with knows how many children she's about to give birth to."

"I just can't believe we didn't know about this little one," Hermione said to Draco as the healer left them alone and her husband took their son from her arms.

"It's certainly a surprise," Draco muttered. "I was only expecting to become a father once today."

"To be fair, you're only a father once, but to two children," Hermione said. "How hard do you think this is going to make things?"

"To be honest, I'm not sure it's going to make much difference," Draco admitted. "Since we didn't know the sex of the baby, we've been buying in neutral, and we did say we'd bought enough for twenty babies, not one. So we won't be short of clothes and supplies, and it'll be easy to get a second crib, or enlarge the one we have so they can stay together. And financially, it won't make any difference. It's not like we're short of money."

"True," Hermione agreed with a nod. "I can't wait to see people's reactions when they find out we had twins. I mean, who goes into hospital to have a baby and gives birth to twins?"

"We wouldn't want to be like other people," Draco laughed. "And as for telling everyone, how do you feel about having a bit of fun with the reveal?"

"Tell me more."

With a devious grin, Draco informed his wife of the cunning idea which had just entered his head. He may have changed a lot since school, but he was still a Slytherin and he loved any excuse to be devious and sly. Luckily, Hermione had a fair bit of Slytherin in her, and she agreed to her husband's idea of how they were going to break the news to their friends that they'd unexpectedly had twins.

The day after Hermione gave birth, her and Draco's friends gathered to welcome the newest member of the Malfoy family. The gathering was being held at Draco and Hermione's house, and Draco had given their friends permission to decorate. However, he'd refused to be drawn on whether the new baby was a boy or a girl, so the decorations had to be neutral.

"Would it have killed him to say if it was a boy or girl?" Pansy Parkinson moaned as she helped Ginny Weasley hang a banner announcing a new baby. "These general things can be so plain. All the best stuff either said boy or girl."

"We can jazz them up," Ginny suggested, using magic to add a bit of colour to the banner.

"Oh, I like that," Pansy said with a nod. "Theo, come and help," she ordered, snapping her fingers at her husband.

While Theo aided Pansy in livening up the decorations, Ginny went to make sure Daphne Greengrass was coping with setting out the food. Although when she entered the dining room she found Daphne was battling with Ron, to stop him from nibbling on the snacks.

"Ron, stop being a pig," Ginny scolded. "Draco and Hermione will be home any minute. And then you can eat."

"But it all looks so good," Ron whined, quickly nabbing a square of cheese as he scurried out of the room.

"It does look amazing," Ginny said to Daphne. "Did you make all this yourself?"

"Heavens no, I wouldn't want to poison everyone," Daphne laughed. "I hired a caterer. Although I do wonder if we should have just asked your mother. The cake she's made is stunning."

The centre piece of the spread was a gorgeous two tiered cake depicting a stork delivering a baby to a couple who looked like Draco and Hermione. And to add a nod to their background, the lower tier was decorated with red and gold lions and the top tier was decorated with green and silver snakes.

"Mum could have been a professional," Ginny said with a proud smile. "If if course she hadn't had so many of us kids to raise. And let's be honest, raising Fred and George must have been a full time job on it's own."

"I'm not sure I could have done it," Daphne agreed with a laugh as they headed back into the front room to join the others.

Ten minutes later the floo sounded from the floo room, and everyone jumped up to gather under the largest banner. When Hermione and Draco entered the room, with Draco carrying a tiny bundle in his arms, their friends let out a cheer and everyone rushed forward to meet the newest Malfoy.

"What is it?" Ron hissed to Harry, not wanting to make a fool of himself. While the baby was cute as a button, he thought all babies looked alike and he couldn't tell if it was a boy or a girl.

"She is gorgeous," Ginny cooed, inadvertently answering her brother's question.

"Do you have a name yet?" Harry asked.

"Not yet, but we do have some options," Draco replied.

"Congratulations mate, she's lovely," Blaise said, clapping Draco on the shoulder. "But where are your parents? Didn't they go to meet you?"

"They're coming," Draco answered with a shrug as Pansy asked if she could hold the baby. "Of course you can, Pans," he said with a grin, gently passing his daughter over to Pansy.

As everyone continued to fuss over the baby, no-one noticed Lucius and Narcissa entering the room, with Narcissa cradling the second baby in her arms. That was until Theo got his eye on the older couple and nudged Draco in the ribs.

"I don't mean to worry you Draco, but I think your mother has taken a baby from the hospital," he hissed loudly.

"Really Theodore, do you think my wife and I are child-nappers?" Lucius drawled. "This child is a Malfoy."

"What?" Theo squealed, gaping at Narcissa. "Are you saying that you went to the hospital to meet your granddaughter and had a baby yourself?"

"No, he's not mine," Narcissa chuckled. "My child bearing days are over."

"He's ours," Hermione said, taking her son from her mother-in-law and turning back to her stunned friends.

"I don't get it," Theo frowned. "How can he be yours, when you've already introduced us to your daughter?"

"Use your brains, Theo," Pansy tutted. "Hermione clearly had twins."

"Twins," Ron gasped. "You never mentioned twins."

"We didn't know about twins," Draco explained. "Hermione gave birth to our daughter, and while we were getting used to that, the healer just casually announced it was time to have the next one."

"It turns out the hospital have always known we were having twins, and they assumed we knew as well," Hermione said. "It was in our notes from France."

"Didn't they tell you over there?" Blaise asked.

"Nope," Draco replied with a shake of his head.

"Are you sure you just didn't get confused?" Theo checked. "I can never understand what those French people are saying. They speak an entirely different language."

"You don't say." Pansy rolled her eyes at her husband as she passed the baby she was holding onto Ginny, who was eager to get a cuddle from the newborn.

"We understand French, Theo," Draco told his friend. "But no-one told us about the twins. We've been planning for one baby, and now we have two."

"It'll be like having your own Fred and George," Harry laughed.

"Okay, we're taking one back," Draco said as he turned to Hermione, his eyes wide with fake horror. Although to be fair, he was hoping his twins wouldn't be as troublesome as the legendary Weasley twins.

"After everything I went through to have them, we're keeping them," Hermione said, passing her son to Daphne for her to have a hold. "Even if this little devil was unexpected."

"So what are you going to do now?" Theo asked. "Do you have room for another baby?"

"I'm not sure about that, he might have to sleep outside in a tent," Draco replied with a sarcastic roll of his eyes. The house he and Hermione lived in wasn't even half the size of the manor, but it was still large enough to hold a large family comfortably.

"Well, I think this is amazing," Pansy said. "Although when I get pregnant, I'm going to check how many children I'm having. I don't fancy a surprise like this."

"What do you mean, when you get pregnant?" Theo asked his wife. "We haven't talked about having children."

"We are having children, Theo," Pansy said sternly.

"You could just take one of these," Blaise joked. "After all, Draco and Hermione were only expecting one. I'm sure they wouldn't miss the second one."

"I'm sure we would miss one," Hermione laughed as Lucius and Narcissa gathered up the children as if to ensure they were safely in Malfoy arms.

"I think we should toast the new arrivals," Daphne announced.

As everyone made sure they had drinks, a toast was made to the two newest arrivals. Everyone may have gathered to greet one Malfoy, but they were more than happy to celebrate the arrival of two gorgeous little babies. Hermione and Draco may have gotten the surprise of a lifetime when she'd given birth, but it was a lovely surprise and the couple were eagerly looking forward to raising twins and seeing what sort of mischief two Malfoys could cause.
