Disclaimer: I obviously don't own Harry Potter.

A/N: I thought of this scenario and I absolutely had to write it! I think I'm not going to be publishing as often, because the stories I have already published were ones I wrote before I made the account, so it's easier to find them. Also, my English teacher likes to pile homework on us, so it's harder to write as often. Well, it's harder to write well more often. I'm not sure if it's up to my usual standard, but I hope you enjoy!

"Mum?" Ginny whipped her head around to the direction of the voice. It was Lily, her 8 year old daughter. Ginny stood up from the couch and crossed the room. She kneeled down next to Lily.

"What is it, honey? Why aren't you playing with the other girls?" Ginny asked. Most of Ginny's family was gathered at the Burrow, including her many nieces. Harry, Ron, Hermione, and George were in the sitting room while the kids were entertaining themselves around the house and outside.

"Well, I was talking to Lucy and she was telling me about something Uncle Percy got her…" Lily trailed off.

"What is it?" Harry asked. He loved to spoil his daughter.

"Harry, you can't spoil your daughter rotten." Ron told him. Harry rolled his eyes.

"What do you want?" Harry asked Lily.

"Um… can I get a diary?" Lily asked quietly. Harry opened his mouth to respond, but Ginny cut him off.

"No!" She exclaimed.

"Why?" Hermione asked her.

"Diaries are dangerous!" Ginny turned back to her daughter, "Lily, it's not that I don't want you to have one, but they are deadly." She explained. Lily's face contorted in confusion. She wasn't the only one, it seemed, because Harry, Ron, George, and Hermione's eyebrows were raised.

"But Lucy has a diary and-"

"Then I'm going to tell Uncle Percy to burn it." Ginny told her.

"Why?" Ron asked.

"Because diaries are murderous! I would know, of all people!" Ginny replied.

"When has a diary tried to murder- oh." George's face lit up with comprehension. Then he burst out laughing. As soon as Harry, Ron, and Hermione understood, they joined him.

"That's not funny! I almost died!" Ginny shouted.

"Mummy, what are they laughing about?"

Ginny turned to her daughter.

"Something that was absolutely… petrifying." George told her.
