As the night dragged on, dark clouds began to form and quickly took over the skies; a sweet watery scent began to fill the air as pressures from the coming storm began to build. In the distance, lightning flashed and the sound of rolling thunder was heard, the wind began to pick up as the first raindrops plummeted from the heavy clouds towards the ground below. It didn't take long before the sprinkling of rain turned into a torrential downpour, soaking everything within mere moments, the winds had begun to howl loudly, lightning flashed and thunder cracked violently throughout the skies.

A small feline figure made it's way quickly threw the storm, and while the rain soaked her fur and the loud thunder hurt her sensitive ears, she pushed ever on wards. Where she was going, she didn't know, but she had to get away from THEM from the duo whose hearts had turned black as coal. Mewing pitifully she cowered beneath the old gnarled roots of a large tree, her once beautiful cream colored fur matted and dirty from the mud and from many attacks from the local demon population. While she knew taking her larger form would most likely save her time in her search for shelter, it wasn't wise to fly in a storm such as this. It was proving to be as violent as the half-breed and former mistress that she had once blindly followed.

Shuddering again, Kirara knew that she only had a moment of reprieve, she had to move. Remaining here would not be the safest thing, for even a being such as herself was susceptible to the unforgiving storm. With a deep inhale she darted out from beneath her temporary haven and moved threw the underbrush, her thick coat did a lot to protect her from the thorns and sharp branches of the forest. She stopped, only for another moment when a familiar scent floated on the winds. Inhaling deeply, Kirara nods to herself

'It is faint,' she thinks to herself as she began running again picking her pace up 'But, no doubt that is the scents of Ah, Uhn and the rest of their pack...they aren't far off' she picked up the pace, fire enveloped her small body and in her place stood a much larger saber-toothed version of herself, maw opening she let out a loud roar to alert her old friends of her impending arrival, dragons didn't have as good of a sense of smell. They (like most lizards) relied on sensing heat signatures and quick movements, what Ah and Uhn lacked in scenting, they made up for with their impeccable eyesight!

She only hoped that their lord was in a good mood today, or joining up with them would prove to be QUITE the challenge...something she would look forward to if she weren't so exhausted.

The loud roar echoed through the trees and bounced off of the cave's walls. Upon lifting his head the dragon Ah turns his head towards the opening of the cave and nudged his brother awake with a soft rumble of his throat. Uhn, grumbling about being awoken looked at his brother with an annoyed expression.

"...Is there a REASON you woke me at such a time? I mean really, we've been traveling all day, and with two additions, not to MENTION, dear brother, both of which are severely injured" Uhn grouses, fangs gritting together in pure annoyance.

Rolling his eyes, Ah snorts "You seriously complain WAY to much, seriously brother we are not hatchlings anymore and yet you complain if someone disturbs your beauty rest" he chides but his voice light with humor, getting under his brother's scales was his favorite past time after all "But, I heard a VERY familiar roar, and she's coming our way, it would be rude not to greet her after all" Ah would say in a singsong and lighthearted tone, forcing their shared body to stand and ignoring his twin's protests he moves them towards the front of the cavern.

Eyes widening at the statement Uhn would strain his ears forward to hear better "She?! You've gotta be joking, there is NO way that she would leave that damnable human that we saw her with last, I mean really, this is Kirara we are talking about" he was quick to voice his disbelief, he knew their old friend was a lot of things, including loyal to a fault to whatever master or mistress she happened to be serving at the time.

"This is no joke brother, I would never joke about such a thing" Ah replies sounding almost offended, he snorts in a very undignified way as he looked out in the raging storm "I hope she gets here safely" he says after a moment "it's...getting rough out there, I mean, it has to be if even Lord Sesshoumaru was bothered by it"

Uhn nodded in silent agreement, their Lord was rarely bothered nor slowed down as something trivial as the weather, but even the powerful demon knew when it was time to seek shelter from the elements, and storms at this time of year were never ones to be taken lightly. He only hoped their Lord Sesshoumaru was in a mood to receive visitors, it was always so difficult to understand him at times. He snorted to himself, Uhn shook his head, really the overgrown dog could stand to be knocked down a peg, two or even four for that matter!

The twin headed dragon didn't need to wait long for their longtime friend, for she soon showed herself, dripping wet and miserable, it broke their shared heart to see such a proud and powerful creature such as Kirara on the brink of exhaustion. But her eyes, it was her eyes that were the worse. The beautiful red orbs were so sad and clouded with grief that it was palpable.

"...Kirara.." said in unison, the twins would both have leaned their long necks down to greet her with gentle nose rubs and sniffing to make sure she was in one piece "it is good to see you...tell us what has happened, you look like you've seen better days" Ah spoke gently as he watched the feline as she shook herself off.

"Ah...Uhn...it lightens my heart to see that you are both well..." the feline says after a moment "It...seems I was terribly mistaken...I..." her voice broke and she mewls pitifully head lowered, eyes closed, her whole stance screamed agony and heartbreak. Her twin tails wrapped tightly around her paws "...my human...Sango... I fear the worst has come to pass...she is no longer the woman she used to be...in her place is a terrible hateful being...gone is the strong-willed girl I used to know...she's been consumed by revenge and hatred I'm afraid and...that...that HALF-BREED is just as full of anger and hatred as she!" the feline spat out angrily, her body shookthe little demoness was so full of hurt and anger. It weighed heavily on her mind and her heart, never in all of her years had she bore witness to such a betrayal that it had caused her to abandon her charge, her current master/mistress.

With wide eyes, the dragon lead the feline closer to the fire that was blazing merrily in the otherwise dimly lit cavern. They ignored their master's questioning, if annoyed, gaze to pay close attention to their longtime friend.

"I...I'm surprised, never in all of my years have I seen you THIS upset," Ah says as he and his brother lie down by the fire he invited Kirara to snuggle up to them so she could warm herself faster "Surely the human could not have become that bad, hell, not even Lord Sesshoumaru's half-bred brother is that bad...sure he's a little...rough around the edges but..." he trailed off with a frown.

"Ah is ...correct for once, I, for one, never sensed anything such as what you have described of either being" Uhn says wisely "but...perhaps you can enlighten us more as to what has happened," he paused for a moment in quiet thought looking towards the bed of furs where the two newest members of their little pack lie asleep "...might this have something to do with the preistess and little kit? We found them both close to death in a field not far from here"

At those words spoken by the dragon, Kirara's head snapped over to where he was looking. Her heart almost stopped "Lady Kagome!" she spoke with a soft gasp "Little Shippou as well!? They...they're alive..!" she whispered "I thought...I heard that...they..." she dared not finish that sentence, it was just, to much for her to bare the thought of.

With a shake of his head, Ah would also look in that direction and sighs "no, they are very much alive...if only barely. It seems the girl took most of the damage, any injuries the young one sustained are merely superficial, he is young but his blood is strong and he should heal rather quickly in comparison to her" he sighed gently "come now, lets get you warmed up, and you can tell us what has transpired, there is much that isn't adding up for my brother and myself...as well as our Lord, I'm sure he too, would like to hear your tale"

With a sharp nod of her head, Kirara joined the twin dragons at the fire, the heat felt wonderful on her soaking wet and cold body. She glanced, if only for a moment, in the direction of the demon lord. She gave him a polite nod of her head before she turned her attention back to the twins "...it all started about nine moons ago...I remember it was a bright and sunny day...everything was going fairly smoothly if I recall correctly..." she turned her head to gaze into the flames as she became lost in memories of not that long ago. She felt very old then, and in truth she was, but never in all of her years in this existence had she felt as ancient as she really was. The flames danced in her ruby colored eyes, she sat up, tails curled back around her paws.

After only a moment of silence Kirara spoke again "...Inuyasha had decided that he and Sango were to be mates, they...hadn't meant to fall in love, it had just happened. The Lady Kagome and Master Miroku were...both respectively heartbroken, and understandably so" she says softly "the hurt was there, Lady Kagome went home and Master Miroku took to wandering the countryside with young Shippou, if only to help heal his wounded heart" she shifted as she spoke. "But time moves on, eventually Lady Kagome returned as did Master Miroku and our travels continued on...Lady Kagome and Master Miroku became close, he aided her more with her spiritual awareness and powers. They spent a great deal of time together" a small smile appeared on her face as she remembered happier times of the past, but then, her eyes took on a dark look to them the heartbreak returned as quickly as it had vanished and her voice became sad and full of anguish "...and when those two started spending more time together...is when everything went to hell"
