Chapter Twelve: Pain

Samantha's POV

That night was the breaking point, does that mean...Raph doesn't like me that way? But why didn't he stay? The pain aches, my heart hurts so much.

Tears rolled down my cheeks while I sobbed into my pillow, I never left my place.

It's been three days now, since that night I lock myself in and called my boss I needed time off for a week or two. April came first, wondering if it worked. I told her through the door that he never felt the same, and I just wanted to be left alone.

Even granny came by, or course I can't say no or turn her away. We had dinner some nights, which was ok. Nikki even tried, but we ended up arguing, so she doesn't want to see or talk to me. I lost a friend.

I tried calling her to apologize, but she blocked my number. So for some weird reason I changed, my ears and fluffy tail popped out and my feet turn into paws. I guess they pop out when I'm under stress or something, wish I could tell Donnie...

I sat up fast "Shellphone! How stupid of me! Donnie gave me a shellphone to call him if something's wrong!" I rush to my purse that is hanging on the wall.

I found out, thank god. And I hit on than tap Donnie's name.

"Come on...pick up, pick up." I was pacing while the shellphone to my ear, than it clicked and before I spoke my heart stopped-kind of? Cause the person who answered wasn't Donnie.

"Kid?"

Eyes dilated, I didn't know what to say or anything! I was paralyzed! I was scared in saying anything, but I needed to talk to Donnie, so I gulp down that feeling for bow, and took calming breaths.

"Oh, hi Raph! Where's Donnie? Is he busy or something?" I used fake cheerfulness, ugh how can one stand this fakeness?

"Uh...he's almost done with a new upgrade on the shellphone's, why ya ask kid?"

"N-no reason, just wanted to ask him something that's been bugging me. But if he's busy I'll wait, can you let him know to call me when he's done please?"

"Sure kid." Then their was awkward silence until he spoke up "you doing ok kid?"

"Me ok? Hehe, Raph I'm peachy~ No worries big guy, I better go-"

"Not so fast Samantha!" I jump, he sounded very angry "what's going on? April came over all upset, and worried 'bout ya."

My hand grip the shellphone while shaking, lips trembling but I kept a straight voice.

"I'm okay Raph, really. Just been under the weather is all." I told him with such fake cheerfulness, I think I just puked in my mouth. I hate sounding fake or lieing to others.

"I better go now, take care...Raph." I quickly hit the end button, and drop it on my bed falling to my knees crying into my arms on my bed.

I hate this! Why does it hurt so much getting rejected? And Raph is acting like that night never happened! That's when I remembered her! Sierra! I need to see her, so I quickly wipe my tears, open my window and jump out but flip up to the side of the building.

After jumping around roof tops, I found her! I was surprised she had...wings, she's just like me.

"S-Sierra?"

"Hm?" She turns out confused but waves at me in greeting when she notice it was me "hi kid, what brings you here this cold and night?"

I fidget slightly, but shyly told her everything. But not about the brothers being turtles though.

We are sitting down next together after I told her my story, but altered parts of it.

"So...after you express your love toward this Raphael guy, he just up and rejected you than left you?"

I nodded sadly.

"Wow...I'm sorry hun, but this Raphael sounds like a douchbag." She bluntly said.

I cold sweated "R-Raph isn't a complete douchbag-" she gave me the look of 'really?' With a sigh "ok he is, but...I still love him Sierra. He answered his brothers phone, and I panicked but kept my cool...but it felt like he forgot what happened." I told her in tears building up in the corner of my eyes.

"...Okay, that does it." I blink, when she stood up opening her bat like wings, holding her hand out to me "come on kiddo."

"Huh?" I grab her hand letting her pick me up, so I now lay awkwardly in her arms "wh-where are we going?"

"Going to have a 'chat' with that douchbag, and I'm going to make sure I kick his ass too." She stated in a angry blunt voice.

"N-no! Please don't harm him." I gasp, wrap my arms around her neck when she started to fly above New York city. I was panicking! She'll find out their big turtles! Crap!

"Too late for that hun...he made you cry. I lost all my friends and everyone but my mom accepted me and now you. I got to know you little by little and you've grown on me kid. So I will NOT sit around and let that green turtle cause you heartache, get away." She said sternly while flying.

My eyes widen, she knows!?

"Oh and I know, cause I saw you two talking on the rooftop, the first time we met."

Lovely, Leo will be upset with me. I buried my face against her shoulder.

"P-please don't harm him...I don't want ether of you hurt." My face was muffled by her shoulder.

"...Fine, but you need to tell him. Let him know his actions caused you pain, he needs to know. He might feel guilt for putting you through this pain, don't hold things back."

She landed on a rooftop, putting me back on my feet-paws. When I heard a noise, rushing behind Sierra.

"Who are you...?"

That voice! It's Leo.

"Oh? Hmm, that's very rude of you...asking a lady who she is, when the male should introduce himself first, tat tat." She scolded him playfully.

I snorted, trying to hold back a laughter but I couldn't hold it cause Leo heard me.

"Sam?"

I peek out from behind Sierra slightly.

"H-hi Leo, fa-fancy meeting you here?"

I saw him frown, than he cross his arms narrowed his eyes "why are you hiding behind the lady, Sam"

"Tch, this 'lady' has a name greeny." Sierra said boredly, but with anger laced in it.

"...Right, names Leonardo."

"See? Not so hard is it. Anyways, my name is Sierra. Sammy and I met not long ago, wait...hey Sam? Is this Leonardo douchbags brother?"

Leo frown in confusion, but me my face burn in embarrassment.

"Y-yeah...sorry Leo, she um...saw me and Raph some nights ago." I explained to him.

"...Its ok Sam, but...why you still hiding behind Sierra?"

My ears went flat down against my head, tail went limp so when I walk from behind her, it drag against the ground. When I look up to see his reaction, it wasn't anger but worry, and concern.

"Why aren't you back to your human form already?"

I was going to lie, which I flinch but Sierra spoke up for me.

"That's why we are out here, where's the douchbag? I want to give him a piece of my mind." She glares but not mad at Leo just at Raph.

"You mean Raph? Why? What did that brother of mine do this time?"

"Heh, he did allot! That idiot brother of yours caused my dear friend Sam, cry and heartbroken. So where is he?" She walk over arms cross, staring up at Leo's eyes.

"What?" He looks from her to me "is this true Sam?" I was hesitant to say anything until, everything got out of control.

"Hey! What's goin' on here?" Raph jumps down landed behind Leo. I frozed, eyes widen slightly.

"Raph..."

"So your Raph?"

Raph frowns, narrowed his eyes.

"Whatcha want to know lady?"

He hasn't notice me yet? Ok...just slowly walk backwards.

"Yeah!" She storms over to him "you," pokes his chest harshly "need to stop being such a douchbag!"

I stop moving backwards, oh boy.

"What!? Listen bat lady, ah do NOT listen to anyone but my master, and ah wont listen to someone like you! So back off." He growls out.

I felt worried, I don't want anyone to get hurt. I rush over surprising the three, stood between Sierra and Raph, hands up stopping them.

"Please! Stop." I begged them.

"Kid? Why aren't you-"

"I don't have time Raph, so please...everyone calm down." I said calmly but gently.

"...Fine, your in luck douchbag. Sam saved you, next time you wont be so lucky. I gotta leave kiddo." I pouted when she ruffled my hair.

"Sierra! Why must you always mess up my hair?" I whine out.

"Pff, cause your too adorable kid. See ya Leo~ Maybe we can hang next time?" She winks at Leo, than flew away into the night.

I fixed my hair, but froze when I felt two pair of eyes on my head.

"So, I better head home~ Night boys!" I was about to jump but one of them grab the back of my sweatshirt, than put me on my feet/paws.

"Not so fast kid! Explain, now." He said sternly, cross his arms against his chest. Even Leo did the same but more gentler glare.

"What's wrong Sam? You never stay this long in this form, is something going on your not telling us?'

"No, I just felt like it Leo! I can only jump around or run really fast when I'm in this form." I was nervous, and scared.

I can't tell them that, I can't change back even meditating can't help. My mind, heart and soul is too troubled.

"Enough bullshit kid! Ah can tell your lying, spill it!" I flinch at his glare.

"Raph calm down! Your scaring her." Leo walk over stood between me and Raph protectively.

Raph did not like that one bet, I jump away with a yelp when Raph shoved Leo harshly.

"Shut it! You don't know her, you didn't like her at first, and now your acting like her boyfriend!?"

"What? No! Sam isn't like that to me!" Leo dodged his fist "stop assuming things! What's wrong with you?" He grabs his fist glaring at him.

"Grrr! Stop acting so smart!"

I look at the two fighting brothers in worry and fear. Anxiety hit me, too much is hitting me. I can't handle this pressure, from the guilt from my father's death, Nikki and I argument, and Raph's rejection.

"STOP IT!"

They froze, turn to look at my shaking body.

"Just stop it! I lied ok!? I'm NOT ok, I've been feeling guilt over my father's guilt, mine and Nikki's argument, and getting rejected! J-just stop fighting! I cant stand the shouting!" Tears roll down my face.

"And most of all...I'm so full of anxiety I changed and I can't change back. I-I can't do this...why didn't I die instead of daddy?" I fell down to my knees sobbing into my hands.

It was silent until I heard shuffling feet walking over to me.

"Sam...why, why didn't you tell us?"

"Yeah, you should of told us kid."

Anger...rage build up in my chest, I snap my head up glaring at Raph eyes turn to slits.

"Stop calling me that! I'm NOT a kid! I'm so fucking tired of hearing you call me that!" I shouted at him surprising both brothers.

"What? Than why ya didn't say anything than!?"

"Why? Do you want to know why!? Because I love you, you dumbass! And I knew...I knew you didn't like me like that but being called that makes me think you only see me as one! So; fuck. You!"

Not giving them any chance to react, I jump away to another rooftop too rooftop until I lost them. When I got to my place, anger left me and I started to cry until I fell asleep.
