A/N: So, I was just being bored and then this story idea popped in my head. I think it's a good idea, so I hope you like it. 2016! Baby! Happy New Year! This year's stories are gonna be epic, and I wanted to start it with this lovely one shot. :P

Nat's POV

"I don't want to go," I whined.

"Well too bad," my fifteen year old brother said, pulling me of the door. "We promised Kristina that we would go to her New Years party."

"But what if Rosalina is there?" I asked quietly, following him.

"So?" Alex said. "Rosalina is her best friend so she'll be there. And she probably had a new boyfriend, so don't mind her."

"Alex you know I can't do that," I said. "I really still love her, but I can't tell her that."

"Nat, listen to me." Alex said. "Rosalina does not care, and neither should you. You are in the middle of you're senior year, and she is a junior in college. Now, we're going to a party with our friends. Have a good time. Don't worry about girls, okay?"

"Fine," I said.

"Good," Alex said. "Now, you forgot your coat."

"I don't need it," I said.

"Well then go get your mask," Alex said, clearly aggravated. "Kristina said its a masquerade party."

"We could buy one on the way," I said.

He sighed, giving up.

.

I had to text David to find him, Thomas, and Qaasim. "Nice mask dudes," I said.

"Later," Alex said. "My lady says she's by the snacks." He walked off, leaving us there. Two girls walked over, smiling at us.

"Hey," the shorter one said.

"Hey," Qaasim said. "What's up?"

"Non," the shorter one replied. "Cool party, huh?"

"Yea, Kris is one heck of a party thrower," she said. She turned to me, smiling. "You seem not into it."

"Eh, I'm not much of a party person," I said.

"Then why did you come?" The slightly taller one said.

"Kris was counting on me," I said. "She's my friend, and I promised her I would come."

"Well that's really sweet," the shorter one said. "Hey, you wanna dance?"

"Uh, sure," I said. She grabbed my hand, pulling me onto the dance floor. All night she danced, told me crazy stories, and laughed with me all night. It was really fun, and she was really nice. And soon, it was a minute to midnight. She was so excited, so happy, counting down loud with everyone around us. At 0 I turned to her, feeling her hugging me. Soon people were kissing, and I bet they didn't know who they were kissing. At least for a few more seconds.

And then this mystery girl kissed me. When she pulled back, she smiled, lifting my mask over my face. "I knew it was you, Nat," she said. I was so confused, at least until she took off her mask. I smiled.

"Happy New Year, Nat."

"Happy New Year, Rosalina," I said, pecking her lips.
