"Am I interrupting?"

"Yes."

Félix rolled his eyes and continued talking, "Your friend called back."

Marinette gave Adrien a quick peck on the cheek and went to grab the phone from Félix.

"Hello?"

"Ladybug I think I finally got everything we need," Max said rather hushed.

"That's great Max but why are you whispering?"

"It seemed too easy to get in. I know I said it would only take a few hours but then I realized just how encrypted everything was and it was taking hours to find basic passwords. But then out of nowhere, I was allowed access. I think he may know. And if he is able to have that level of encryption he has to have a good team for that which means that given some time I could be tracked."

"Max do we need to get you to a different place?"

"If possible for me and my family yes just until this mess blows over."

"Ok, I will send someone to get you and your family soon. Bye"

Félix and Adrien had concerned looks on their faces causing Marinette to quickly explain, "Good news we got what we need, bad news we need to get Max and his family to a safe place I'm thinking the bunker since it can only be opened by either Tikki or Plagg."

"Sounds like a good idea."

"Thanks, Adrien you up for a small errand?"

"Always for you My Lady."

"You two are disgusting."

The two returned and gathered everyone in the main room.

"Alright everyone we have what we need to find his lair. Chloe, Félix and Adrien, I need you to look at these blueprints and see if you can spot and extra room or anything that doesn't make sense."

"Yes, ma'am," Félix said with a salute.

"Alya, Bridgette, and Nino, I need you to help come up with a plan."

The group worked hard as Master Fu looked over them with pride, he could not have chosen a better duo. Even the older ones were working as a team again. After some time of planing, Kwamis whizzing around, and much frustration they had finally gotten what they felt was needed.

"Alright, guys. It's game on."

Spotlights flickered across the courtyard, making the mansion look more like a prison than his childhood home. Adrien glanced to the right, taking in the expressions of his partners. Rena Rouge and Carapace-no, Alya and Nino- wore matched guises that were tired yet firm. Bridgette was crouched low to the rooftop, analyzing the situation before her. Félix stood straight-backed next to her, his face betraying none of the thoughts racing through his head.

Steeling himself, he turned away from the house. Marinette sat farther up the gabled roof, her yo-yo wrapped around her fingers almost idly. She was also scanning the playing field but also watching her compatriots. She locked eyes with him, no doubt noticing the red-rimming his eyes beneath his mask. She gave him a small smile, making his heart flutter. Adrien turned to face the mansion again, only to have a hand placed gently on his shoulder. Chloe sat to his left, his childhood friend offering him some small comfort.

These people are my family, Adrien thought to himself, no matter what happens tonight.

"Alright," Chat said, his voice tight, "get to your positions. Follow the plan." Ladybug and Queen Bee darted off into the night, they would enter from the rear of the house, hopefully undetected. Rena Rouge and Carapace leaped to the next roof and rounded the side of the mansion, where they would sneak through an unlocked window into Adrien's bedroom. Chat Noir stood up and steadied himself. Voivire and Viper would attack the front doors with him, in order to draw the most attention and distract whoever Hawkmoth had akumatised during the amount of time he had to prepare.

"This feeling is not one you get used to," Bridgette remarked, standing up between the two cousins.

"Hmm, and what feeling would that be? Strolling into battle to save Paris or standing among the rooftops with me?" Félix replied with a smirk, playing with the hilt of his sword.

"You know exactly what I mean Chat- I mean- Fél- ugh!" Bridgette fumed. "I cannot STAND this side of your personality!"

Adrien gave a tense smile, enjoying seeing how they probably acted when they were younger superheroes.

The two continued to bicker back and forth with each other. Félix gave her a rakish smile as he smoothed back his hair. His eyes were lit with mischief like the black cat he was originally, but now a fire flickered there that had to come from the red and gold mask fixed upon his face.

Adrien shook his head, focusing on the front door of the mansion. Thirty seconds had passed, time for the distraction to start distracting.

"Guys, it's time to go." The older heroes stopped talking immediately. Their arguing had been a good distraction in and of itself, but it didn't help much in defeating Hawkmoth.

Félix nodded and jumped down from the roof onto the cobbled street below. Sliding his hand along the sword blade he yelled, "Wind Dragon!"

Air blasted out from where he had stood, blowing open the wrought iron gates. Bridgette hopped lightly down from the roof, Adrien following closely behind. The wind barreled across the courtyard and up the stone steps, blasting open the front doors. The spotlights focused on Adrien and Bridgette as they strolled across the courtyard. An alarm could be barely heard above the roaring wind that was Félix, as he ripped the heavy doors off their hinges, sending them crashing to the marble ground. The two neared the top of the stairs as whirlwind coalesced back into Félix.

Two figures stood serenely on the first landing, staring down the heroes in the foyer.

"Shhhh Ladybug!" Queen Bee whisper yelled. "Could you be any louder!"

Marinette gritted her teeth but knew it was warranted. She had slipped on the rooftops and nearly slide off several times that night, slamming the window they were trying to sneak into had just been another mistake that night. But how could she act calm when the stakes of this mission were so high?

"It's okay...we made it in," Marinette whispered, slipping through the window with Chloe close behind. They had entered on the third floor of the mansion, seemingly unnoticed as no lights lit the hallway.

"Okay, back hallway, which direction is it?" She knew the answer, but asking the question helped ease the queasiness that had settled in her stomach. This mission had barely begun, if these were the nerves she was feeling, she couldn't imagine what Adrien and Félix were experiencing.

"This way." Chloe pivoted and took off along the corridor, Marinette close on her heels. Chloe knew the layout of the house better than anyone on the team aside from Adrien, navigating to the place Max said would possibly be Hawkmoth's lair. They passed numerous doors, heading toward what the blueprint Max had found was a secret tower room. Rounding the corner, an explosion rocked the house, sending the girls tumbling to the floor.

Alya lay sprawled across the floor of Adrien's room, her flute clutched tightly with both hands. Wincing, she sits up and searches the darkened room for Nino.

"Where are you?" she whispers, panicking. A groan resonates from the other side of the room. Alya scrambles to her feet and stumbles past the overturned piano towards the door.

"H-Here..." Nino grimaces, he has managed to prop himself up against the wall, but something is wrong, there's blood, there's...

"You ne-need to pull it out... I..." Nino stammers, refusing to look at the wood lodged in his left shoulder, just underneath his clavicle. A slow, steady trail of blood has begun to drip down his chest.

"I... Nino...this..." Ayla stumbles over words, she can't, she doesn't know what to say, "What do...do I..."

Grimacing, he reaches out and grabs her left hand, placing it gingerly on the ragged edge. "Just pull it...straight out."

Steeling herself, she pulls against the wood, earning a groan on pain from Nino. More blood starts to flow from the wound.

I can't do this, I can't, I can't...

"Alya," he gasps. "Alya. One more time. You can do this. I'll... I'll count, ok?" He closes his eyes and grits his teeth.

She places her left hand on the wall as a brace, directly above his shoulder. "Ok...ok."

"3...2...1...AHGH!" he yells through his teeth, his hands closed tightly into fists.

"Nino!" She takes his face in her hands, reassuring, "Nino, it's alright, it's out."

He relaxes as the pain ebbs off, "I'm fine... We're fine."

Two bluish-purple figures stood upon the staircase, unfazed by the fact that Félix had just literally blown the doors off their hinges. Mayura had her fan splayed out in front of her face, white feathers floating everywhere. Beside her stood a shrunken Gorilla, fists clenched at his sides.

"Alright guys, five minutes..." Bridgette whispers, activating the miraculous on her wrist. Adrien nods, extending his staff, time for the distraction.

"WHERE'S HAWKMOTH?!" Félix yells, charging up the staircase at Mayura. He tries to slice her fan in half but Godzilla grabs his arm, swinging him around and tossing him back onto the first floor. He lands on his back and slides across the floor to Bridgette's feet.

"This is gonna be fun." Vouivre glances upwards, at her, pain and fire flickering in his eyes.

"Gorizilla, stop Chat Noir!" Mayura orders, jumping down from the landing, heading for the dining room. Bridgette leaps over Félix, cutting off Mayuras' escape. Mayura shoves Viper, throwing open the doors. Bridgette stumbles back, raising her lyre like a shield to stop Mayura's fan from slicing her across the face. Bridgette grits her teeth and grabs for Mayura's wrist, with a twist, she flips the lady over her head to slam her onto the table. Feathers float everywhere as the villain slides to the floor. Bridgette stalks around the other side of the table, lyre held defensively in front of her chest.

Mayura coughs sending more feathers flying, seeing Vipers' cautious approach, she grins, "Ha... can you believe an Amok can be almost anything?"

Bridgette tenses, waiting for whatever Mayura is talking about to strike, but it never does, because the whole room explodes.

"S-second Cha-nce."

Chloe and Marinette follow the blueprint to the end of a hall where a portrait of Adrien is hung. Adrien looks much younger in this portrait but very stiff and looks like he's struggling to maintain the forced smile.

"I think this is it," Chloe says rolling up the blueprint.

"Ok well, time to break this down." Normally Marinette would hate to break anything with Adrien on it but desperate times.

She summons her Lucky Charm and a large square-headed hammer with a leather strap appears in her hand.

"Oh, that's great what are we supposed to do with that hit him in the face?"

She hits him in the face.

It causes an electrical shock and the wall opened up. The next thing they see in an empty room with small white butterflies flying around in front of a massive window looking over the Effiel Tower.

"He's not here."

Twelve times, Bridgette thinks, and each time she leads me to some part of the mansion and blows it up.

"Alright guys, five minutes...what is she up to." Bridgette grabs the back of Felix's' costume, holding him in place before he charges up the stairs. "Adrien watch out for the feathers, if Nathalie touches something with a feather it'll explode."

His eyes widen with realization but he settles back into a fighting stance, his whole body tense with anger.

It's always better to tell him early but what should we try now?

Félix and Adrien glance at each other before charging up the stairs at Gorizilla. Adrien extends his staff, vaulting over the villains' head to land on the top of the stairs. Mayura slices the air with her fan, sending more feathers flying. Félix drops and swipes Gorizillas' legs out from under him, sending him tumbling down the stairs.

Mayura retreats up the second set of stairs, dodging Adrien's' punches with ease. "BLOCK HER EXIT," Bridgette yells as she turns her attention to Gorizilla. He pulls himself off the ground and lunges at Bridgette.

She sidesteps him as Félix jumps down onto his shoulders, yelling. "DON'T YOU DARE TOUCH HER." He locks his legs around Gorizilla and smashes the hilt of his sword into the villain's temple, knocking him down to his knees.

Bridgette glances up and sees that Adrien is now standing in front of Mayura, cutting off her escape to the rest of the house. She hacks at his face with her fan, cutting his face above his mask.

Think think think, where can we go, what is her goal, Bridgette grips her lyre with both hands and smashes it down on Gorizilla's head, causing him to slump to the ground unconscious. Félix jumps back before he can be pinned by the weight of the villain. He roars and charges up the stairs, to help his cousin.

Adrien dodges a kick from Mayura as she tries in vain to make it into the hallway. Félix grabbed for her fan but she catches his arm and pivots, punching him in the nose and sending him tumbling down the staircase, onto the first landing.

This is bad, time is almost up, should I reset? Bridgette sizes up the fight between Adrien and Nathalie as they trade blows. Félix lay dazed on the staircase, a steady stream of blood coming out of his nose.

What should I do, where... wait, WHERE HASN'T SHE GONE? Bridgette whirls to face the other set of doors, the ones leading to Gabriels' office.

"ADRIEN!" Bridgette yells, crashing into the locked doors.

Mayura glances over, and leaps over the railing, slamming into Bridgette and away from the door. The two grapple with each other. Mayura slices the air with her fan but Bridgette catches the blow with her lyre. Her fan slides between the strings, trapping Mayura's arm. With a twist, Nathalie is flipped onto her back, Bridgette leaning over to keep her in place.

"CATACLYSM" Adrien yells, destroying the doors to the study. Félix staggers down the stairs, blood trickling through his fingers as he clutches his broken nose.

Mayura tenses as the two boys enter, distracting Bridgette. Nathalie rears up, head-butting Bridgette and slipping out of her hold. Bridgette falls to her knees, eyes filled with tears. She sees Mayura shove through the superheroes, knocking them onto the ground. She collapses onto the raised glass set into the floor, feathers fluttering throughout the room.

"I'm sorry Gabriel," she says, as the room collapses.
