To Asami, Korra's hands had a relatively simple mechanic: If she was in a fight, training, or coaching the new Fire Ferrets, her hands were rather tough; When she was at an orphanage caring for the kids there, at a dinner, or with her, Korra's hands were soft. In fact, whenever she was with Korra the softness was always there, even in a fight.
The only time Asami could remember when Korra's hands were rough when they were together after the got together, was when some casanova wannabe came up and started flirting with Asami despite her protests. It was when the man made the grave mistake of putting his hand around a spot where he really shouldn't have that she got mad.
The man was in the hospital the next day.
Korra wasn't normally a jealous person, but when people treated Asami wrong, she made it very clear that that wasn't how one should treat the heiress. But Korra was surprisingly clingy to two major parts on Asami's body: Her hair, and her hands. Not that Korra wouldn't be upset if any other part on Asami's body was hurt, but when the two favored parts were mistreated or insulted, she would send a gust of cold wind their way to make them shiver (Or hot air if it was a hot day) at best, or she would send a fireball or a chunk of rock their way at worst.
"Don't you DARE talk about her like that!" She would always growl when the occasional rock or fire was thrown. Even if she thought it was a bit extreme, Asami couldn't help but smile, she was perfectly capable of defending herself, but she always felt a sense of comfort when Korra did something like that. She found out that it was Korra's way of telling Asami that she wouldn't be leaving her side. As a bonus, Korra's hands always looked protective when she did that stuff.
Asami's hands were something of a marvel to Korra. One moment, they were as gentle as a baby otter penguin's belly, the next, they were as tough as nails. She absolutely loved it. It was half a percent on Asami's body, sure, but it was an awesome half percent. She was a marvel of a beauty, and was quite possibly the prettiest thing around for miles. When Asami's hands were intertwined with hers, she felt like she was capable of everything.
Korra considered that when Asami wore the equalist glove it was a crime. Not that it was because it hurt a lot or anything, but because she thought it an insult to the spirits to cover up such a thing of beauty and elegance, that was at the same time resourceful and mighty. Bolin sometimes joked that she should get it passed as a law at one point, to which the Avatar turned away embarrassed.
The bill was shot down faster than Sokka ate when it was read.
Korra only found it right to cover up when Asami was in the workshop. Her reasoning being that Asami's hands should be protected at all times. Asami didn't know why, but she found it adorable when her gloves went missing and Korra outright forbade her from going to work without proper hand protection.
Korra only found Asami's hands to be the prettiest thing after there was a ring on it, and Asami found the most comforting part of Korra to be the neck that had the betrothal necklace on it.
They were a couple, and the world would just have to deal with it.
Just wanted to say that I had fun during Korrasami Month, and thank you for reading, reviewing, and faving my stories. I'm available for beta reading right now, so… that.
Little extra thing to mention: Dec 19th, Korrasami one year anniversary. Celebrate, be merry, and have a gay old time!
… Yes, that was intentional.
And before I forget, I own nothing related to Korra or Asami. All credit goes to the creators, Gah! I can't believe I forgot something as essential as the disclaimer all those fics ago.
