In the Thick of it
"Yet I am not silenced by the darkness, by the thick darkness that covers my face" – Job 23:17
"Filthy weather out there," called the bartender, as Dean stumbled into the welcome warmth of the bar.
Dean shook himself, grimacing as ice-cold water trickled past his collar. "It sure is," he replied, peeling off his soaked jacket. "I must've got turned around; I'm looking for the interstate-"
"It's easy to miss the exit. Otherwise, I don't think I'd get any custom," grinned the bartender, gesturing to a barstool.
Dean glanced around the deserted bar. "The fog was so thick I could barely see anything in front of me."
"Yeah," smiled the bartender, his fangs descending. "The forecast's not good."
