Chapter: Prologue

..

Haddonfield, Illinois; 1990

..

At the age of ten, Remedy Kane was a girl with dead straight milk chocolate color hair going pass the bottom of her shoulder blades. She had sea foam green eyes, and she had slight chubby cheeks. But what stuck out were her braces. The older kids would call her brace face or a walking metal detector.

The end of last school year, she had been the new kid. A new school year was about to start. It was almost two years since she arrived in Haddonfield to live with her busy aunt. Her aunt was always on some business trip. With her aunt being away a lot, her aunt hired a nanny to come over to the house and make sure Remedy was safe and all right.

Remedy grew up with parents, but then it was disrupted. Her mother left her father, and Remedy watched her father take a turn for the worst. Her father began to drink a lot. The neighbors soon noticed how little Remedy would do a lot of house chores on her own, and how she was taking care of herself. The neighbors soon called about their concerns for Remedy. Then Remedy found herself packing most of her clothes and some items from her bedroom in two large suitcases. She was taken in by her father's sister.

When Remedy first came to the small town of Haddonfield, she felt out of place. The small town was were everyone knew one another, and did all sorts of community events with each other. When it came to school, Remedy was really out of place. She knew it would be hard coming to a new place toward the end of the school year, and attempt to make friends.

The first few days of her attending her new school, she would find herself alone during lunch time. She would sit by herself underneath a tree in the schoolyard with her small lunchbox. Inside she made herself the usual PB&J sandwich, apples slices and a small bottle of water. Her first week in the new school, she received her first taste of being bullied by some older kids.

The older kids was a three boy group. The ringleader was a teenage boy by the name of Wesley Rhoades. Wesley found it hilarious to shove her down on the ground and then snatch away her lunch. Since she was brand new to the school, she kept her mouth shut and did nothing. She did not want to attract attention to her. She simply sat underneath the tree for the rest of the lunch period with her arms around her legs, hugging her legs to her chest.

It was when he appeared.

He held out a half of a PB&J sandwich slice to her with a small grin.

Michael Myers was ten years old, and was in the same homeroom and classes as her. He was bullied by Wesley too.

After the day she was picked on, and he offered her half of his lunch, Michael and she would continue to spend time with each other. The two would continue to have lunch with each other and stuck together in their classes. Michael and Remedy became very close. They would not hang out with other kids, only each other. Their closeness led to shared secrets and trust in one another.

With the new year in school, Remedy was not the new kid anymore. It was a few months within the school year. Today was also a big day. It was not only Halloween, but it was also Remedy's birthday.

Currently, Remedy stood outside of the Myers's House. She was waiting for her best friend, Michael. She smiled when the front door open. Michael came running out and right up to her. His mother Deborah stood in the doorway and waved at Remedy. Remedy continued to smile and returned the wave.

Michael grabbed ahold of Remedy right hand to start walking. The two walked down the sidewalk in the direction of the school. The school was only a couple blocks away, and was not a far walk. They found walking together better than being on the bus with their rowdy classmates.

"New mask?" Remedy asked softly.

She eyed the orange papier-mache mask on Michael's face.

For a few moments, Michael stared at her with his light blue eyes before he nodded.

Remedy accepted the fact how Michael hid behind the mask. She knew he hid his anger behind the mask from those around him. A lot his anger was formed and directed toward his older sister and his mother's abusive boyfriend, Ronnie. But Michael never showed his rage toward Remedy. Michael admitted to her how he liked to be around her because she brought comfort and a relief feeling to spread through him.

Before Michael and she could walk around the corner to the street the school was located on, Michael stepped in front of her. She halted in her step and looked down when he held out something in front of him. It was a small box wrapped in a shiny black wrapping.

"Happy Birthday, and Happy Halloween." Michael whispered.

He pushed up his mask to show his grin.

A bright smile came onto her lips. She reached out to accept the small wrapped gift from him. Quickly she unwrapped it. Remedy pulled the top off the small box, and the smile widen on her lips. She reached in and pulled out a handmade string bracelet. It was a friendship bracelet. The design was fish knot style, which she found tough to do. But she found Michael was quite talented when it came to arts and crafts, and the use of crafting with his hands.

"I made it with your two favorite colors." Michael pointed out.

The bracelet colors were black and teal.

The smile stilled lingered on her hips. With enough courage gathered up inside of her, Remedy leaned up on her tippy toes to press a small, gentle kiss agains this cheek.

Her actions made Michael to fluster up. His cheeks began to become a gentle pink hue color. His blushing was becoming brighten. He reached up for his mask and pulled it over his face to hide his emotions. Remedy held back a small snicker. Instead, she kept the wide smile on her hips.

Remedy held out her left wrist toward him, nodding her head toward the bracelet.

Michael grabbed the bracelet and then tied the bracelet around her left wrist. He eyed the bracelet and gave a nod at his approval. With a nod herself, Remedy began to walk forward. Together they walked toward the school to start another day.

..

The school day had started out smoothly until word got around about Michael being suspended. Rumors spread fast, and Remedy managed to piece together what happened. Michael had freaked out in the bathroom at Wesley. Remedy knew Wesley done something to make Michael to snap.

Halfway through the school day, Remedy had been called out of the classroom twice. The first time was by the teacher, and the second time was by the principal. The principal questioned her about the whereabouts of Michael. Everyone in the school knew how Michael and her were best friends.

Remedy noted how a worry Deborah stood by with an older man in the office. The waited until the principal finish talking to her.

I do not know where Michael is." Remedy answered with a shrug of the shoulders.

By the deep sigh from the principal, she knew it was not the answer the principal wanted to hear. The principal waved her off to go back to class.

While Remedy walked out of the main office, she did glance over her shoulder to see the principal enter the office where Deborah and the unknown older man stood. The principal head shook toward Deborah, who bowed her head and shook it. She heard the principal say, 'Loomis,' which drew the attention of the older man with Deborah. Now Remedy knew who this older man was.

At the end of the school day, for the first time in a while, Remedy walked home alone. Her mind was filled with all sorts of thoughts about Michael and his disappearance. She was wondering his whereabouts. Instead of letting her curiosity take her over, Remedy decided to walk straight home.

Remedy would do her homework, and then reheat last night dinner to eat. The whole time she could not stop thinking about Michael.

..

What Remedy did not know was the fact Michael had killed Wesley Rhoades in the woods. Michael had beaten Wesley to the brink of death with a thick tree branch, and left a dying Wesley in a pile of leaves.

Remedy did not know how tonight would be the night Haddonfield would change, and the idea of Halloween would become a living nightmare.

Hi Everyone,

Since it is Halloween Night! I made the decision to write about one of my favorite Horror movie fanfic story. HALLOWEEN!

The story is going to be a mixture of Zombie movie style and the original Halloween series. The originals are classics so storylines from that will appear throughout the story along with the newer versions.

There were many times I would attempt to write a storyline on the Halloween series, but end up erasing them. But this time I gathered up enough courage to write and post a Halloween story!

I want to apologize now if I get any sort of information wrong. So, sorry ahead of time.

This first chapter was a quick introduction of the main character. The next chapter will be a time hop type chapter where the years will be going by and how the two are growing up. Also, how the characters are developing, and how they are with each other.

Disclaimer for this chapter and the future chapters: I do not own anything about the Halloween Series. However, I do own my original character, Remedy and her aunt.

Enjoy!

Thank You!
