Angelic Prophecy Ch.4
Eraventa reappeared in their secret room, where Muriel was waiting.
"So was I gone too long?" Eraventa asked worryingly.
"No." Muriel answered. "Though you almost were this time! The jammer just now ran out of energy! If you were still in that world you would have been caught!" She added.
"Well as long as it worked out and the Archangels didn't sense me!" Eraventa said happily.
Muriel sighed. "Yes… it did work out…" She deadpanned. "But I hope your job worked out." She said with an annoyed tone.
"I'm sorry that I went against you and went there, but they were thinking I was a bad angel and I needed to fix that!" Eraventa said.
"You didn't need to do that, you wanted to do that!" Muriel pointed out angrily.
"And I got what I wanted, cause now they know that I'm not a bad angel!" Eraventa said happily.
Back in the forest on Remnant, the Angel of The Forest was flying through the forest. The look of fear on her face suggested she was trying to get away from something.
She stopped flying as she was about to run into something, and the shadow now looming over her suggested she had been caught.
"Sweetie?" The figure said.
She looked up fearfully at the figure.
"Did you go out and pretend to be me again?" The womanly voice asked with a falsely sweet tone.
Her disguise faded away, the leaves of her dress turning to a simple brown, as well as the leaves of her wings, while her face changed so she looked younger.
She now clearly looked like a fearful daughter that was just caught by their mother.
"But I found bad people and went to try and stop them!" The girl pointed out.
The real Angel of The Forest looked down at her daughter.
"And you thought you could pretend to be me to scare them?" The Angel of The Forest guessed.
"Yeah." Her daughter answered, still looking fearful. "I didn't do anything wrong, mother! I swear!"
"Did you really think you could punish them and then get back without me noticing?"
"I… didn't actually get to punish them…" Her daughter answered hesitantly. "I was scared I would get caught by you so I left before I could kill them…"
"And look how that worked out for you." The Angel of The Forest put a hand on her daughter's shoulder. "Naegi, someday you will take my place as the Angel of The Forest, but that day is far away right now. There is no need to pretend to be me, for someday you will be properly trained to replace me."
Naegi wished that day would come sooner, but she smiled regardless. 'Mother is smiling, so I must not be in trouble!' She thought hopefully.
Her mother's face turned serious.
'Nope. Still in trouble.' Naegi realized.
"If you had simply told me about these bad people, then I would have taken care of them. Unfortunately, this means I have to deal with these people that you let get away…" She turned and began to walk away before turning back to Naegi. "What did these people do and where did they go?"
"Well… they really aren't bad people. In fact, right now they're really good people! Though… you said that that never lasts… but still! I don't think you should hurt them! They're an angel's pawns, so all you have to do is stop the angel that they work for!" Naegi answered.
"Really? Good find Naegi. Do you know who they work for?"
"Yep! The Angel of The Elements." Naegi answered.
"Really? Shame… she seemed like such a nice girl…" Naegi's mother commented sadly.
"That's what I thought!" Naegi commented. "I can hardly believe that she would do something like this!" One of her friends, one of the younger angels that actually liked to be around her, was one of those bad angels? She wanted to believe that it wasn't true, but evidence said otherwise.
"Well… it can't be helped." Naegi's mother said sadly. "I'll bring her up to the Archangels… probably Archangel Michael, since he's the one leading the hunt for the evil angels." She said before fading away as she teleported to the Angelic Realm.
Eraventa was currently walking down one of the halls in the main complex of the Angelic Realm.
Muriel had suggested that they start making splitting up part of their strategy. They split up every time that they leave, so people don't get suspicious of them always being together in those empty halls.
They had split up a few times already, and so far things had been working out…
…only now she was being followed by the Angel of The Forest.
Well, maybe not 'followed'. The older angel was simply fast-walking until she was close enough to grab Ignequa.
The elemental angel turned another corner, and the moment she did so she saw a shadowy figure with glowing yellow eyes grab her before a flash of white engulfed them and they were gone.
"Alright! You're coming with me you-" The Angel of The Forest started and then realized that her and Ignequa weren't in the halls.
She touched the younger angel's shoulder, there was a flash of light, and now they were in a massive grassy field.
And for some reason Muerte was here…
No, scratch that, she could tell it was his energy that had been used to bring them here.
"You again!?" Ignequa yelled as she pointed at the cloaked figure that had tattered looking wings and was standing a short distance from them.
"Yes, it is I, the Angel of Death." Muerte said with his usual creepy tone.
"Muerte! Why did you send us here!?" The Angel of The Forest demanded.
"You know that I abhor that name…" Muerte deadpanned. "Just call me Death."
"Oh! Silva!? What are you doing here!?" Eraventa asked, both happy and confused. "And where are we?"
Silva sighed in annoyance. 'She's still too young to sense his energy.' She mentally noted before pointing at Muerte. "He brought us here."
"He did?" Eraventa asked before looking back at the Angel of Death. "Why did you bring us here you creep!?"
"Well, truth be told, I was just trying to bring you here so I could kill you, but apparently Silva grabbed you at the same time that I did." Muerte explained.
"Why did you grab me?" Ignequa asked Silva, confused.
"Because I know that you have warriors working for you on one of the worlds of Remnant!" Silva answered angrily before turning to Muerte. "Look, we don't have to kill her! We can just take her in to Archangel Michael!"
"Oh Silva, old friend, you don't understand." Muerte started. "I'm Death. I'm not going to settle for anything less than killing her."
"But then you would be no better than what she is trying to be!" Silva argued. "Don't sink down to her level and kill her! The Archangel's will find you if you kill her!"
"Once again, for an angel that is only a thousand years younger than me, you don't understand." Muerte said with his usual creepy smile. He held out his hand and an Angel Relic appeared in his hand. "I found a relic that is perfect for jamming the Archangels' abilities to sense us." Half of the relic flew out of his hand and sank into the ground, disappearing completely and causing the planet to glow for a moment, "Now they won't sense us." while the other half became part of a necklace that he now wore.
"Wait, what are you doing?" Silva asked.
"I'm going to kill both of you." Muerte answered before creating his black scythe and readying it.
A dark realm, with the floor covered in endless dead grass, gravestones every few meters, and a poisonous looking yellow fog everywhere.
It was his realm, where the Archangels couldn't watch him, and no one else could enter without his consent, not even Archangel Michael.
Muerte walked over to an empty spot right before another gravestone appeared, and Aiden's spirit rose from the grave.
"Ah, it's you." Aiden said casually.
Muerte nodded.
"I died and lost everything, you can stop being so damn quiet all the time." Aiden complained.
Muerte decided to humor him and speak. "Yes, I saw that girl of yours bring you back and you both had a little moment."
Aiden chuckled. "Longest sentence I've ever heard from you." He noticed the weapon that the angel was holding on his right side. "Cool scythe."
"Yes, it's my Cardinal Weapon." Death said while running his hand along the blade. "The weapon I've been allowing you to copy with your Aura."
"I guess I shouldn't be surprised, seeing as you're the Angel of Death." Aiden said. "Why am I here, anyway?"
"Well, you mortals may consider it unfair, but since I'm the Angel of Death, I get to decide rather you go to heaven or hell."
Aiden sighed and braced himself. "And?"
"You did well, I was able to sense which angel's energy you were dealing with while you fought that one called AJ. I will take of her, your job is done. As thanks for making it all possible, and for all the help you've been, and the Angel Relic you had helped me find in that zombie filled world, you will go to Heaven."
Aiden let out the breath he had been holding. "Thank you."
"No, thank you, Aiden."
As Aiden's soul was fading away into Heaven, he chuckled.
"Dude, why do you always sound so creepy?"
"Part of the job description." Muerte answered with a chuckle.
Muerte dashed at the two angels and swung his scythe at them.
Eraventa screamed in fear and jumped out of the way.
"Whoa wait!" Silva shouted and created two large green daggers in her hands to divert the blade of Muerte's scythe, creating sparks. "Why are you doing this!?"
Muerte turned around and glared at them from under his hood.
"Because you bastards made my little sister a Fallen Angel!" He yelled angrily before charging again.
"What?" Silva managed to ask before both female angels jumped into the air to dodge him, and he flew into the air after them.
"Silva!" Eraventa started. "You got it all wrong! I'm not one of those bad angels!"
"You're lying!" Silva yelled back before flying out of the way of Muerte's attack. "My daughter told me you have warriors on one of the Remnants!" She realized she had no choice but to defend herself and struck back at Muerte, who barely dodged the attacks before using the range advantage of his scythe to keep her away.
"But it's not for what you think! We're trying to stop the bad angels!" Eraventa argued. "You know, like the one trying to kill us!?" She said, pointing at Muerte.
Death started shooting out energy blasts colored a sick green at Eraventa. She dodged the attacks before holding her hand out at the ground below them. Large pieces of the planet they were on broke off and flew at Muerte. He dodged or slashed the boulders before flying at her.
"I guess I'll kill the weak one first!" Death yelled angrily.
Eraventa panicked for a second before holding her hand out toward the holes in the ground that she had created. A stream of lava flew out from one of the holes up to her and she formed it into three tendrils of lava that began flying around Muerte, trying to hit him.
"What does your sister have to do with this!?" Silva yelled from behind Muerte.
"I'm gonna bring her back here!" Death answered while dodging Eraventa's lava attacks. "She's gonna be a true angel again!"
"But… she can't be." Eraventa said, confused. Her attacks stopped as she lost her focus on them and was instead focused on what she was saying. "She sided with the demons, she can never come back."
"She was going to come back! She isn't a bad angel like you all made her out to be!" Muerte yelled angrily at them. "I'll prove it!"
He dashed behind Eraventa before she could react and punched her in the back, sending her towards the ground. He flew towards her as she was falling, intent to slash her on her way down, but he had to divert his course to avoid a green energy blast from Silva. Eraventa would have thanked her but she then crashed into the ground so hard she created a large crater where she landed.
Silva looked down at Muerte, then to Ignequa. "We're going to deal with him first, but then I'm taking you to the Archangels."
"You can't!" Eraventa argued desperately once she stood up. "I'm telling you, we're trying to stop the bad angels! The ones who just want power!"
"Why should I believe you?" Silva asked.
"Because she's right." Muerte answered, smiling. "I had been using a powerful pawn to find relics and give me power, only another angel's pawn killed my pawn. I sensed that the energy on the pawn was from her." He glared at Eraventa. "So, I brought her here to kill her, since she's far weaker than me and has no experience fighting. But even if you both fought together you couldn't beat me." He grinned confidently at Silva. "You don't have any relics, Silva. Since you stick to the new ways and don't embrace power, you'll never win."
Suddenly Eraventa held out her hand towards him and he found his feet frozen in place.
"Ha! Gotcha you creep!" Ignequa yelled before creating a lance of ice and stabbing him with it, the lance shattering on contact and sending Death flying away. Muerte got up quite easily for being hit by such a powerful attack, before putting the palm of his left hand on the ground. A blast of energy exploded from under Eraventa's feet and knocked her into the air. Death then flew at incredible speed, stopped above her, and then used the blunt end of his scythe to slam her into the ground again, making the crater even larger.
He then flew up at high speed to fight Silva, who tried to hit him with a volley of energy blasts before he got to her. He avoided every attack and was on top of her before she knew it. She was forced to completely block his weapon with her daggers, creating a massive shockwave from the force.
"I'm done holding back, can you tell?" Muerte asked with a grin before blinking behind her.
She dodged to the side before stabbing him in the side with one of her daggers, then going to stab him in the face with the other. He grabbed her wrist and stopped the attack short before throwing her downward. She quickly stopped her descent and glared up at him before creating a storm of leaves and sending them towards him. He simply held his hand out to create a green gas between him and the leaves, which all died and fell as they came into contact with the gas.
"Death always wins in the end, Silva, you know that." Muerte taunted, then realized she wasn't there, having used the cloud of leaves to hide her movements. He suddenly felt an incredible force smash into his back and send him into the ground, creating an even larger crater than the other one.
'I can't believe I fell for that diversion… ' Death thought as he slowly stood up.
It was at that point that Eraventa attacked with a lance of wind, which Muerte easily parried for a bit before slashing her side with his scythe, then kicking her into the sky. He then turned to deal with the massive wall of vines that were approaching him. He put Angelic Energy into his scythe before slashing through the wall and finding Silva on the other side of it. Silva held her hand out towards him and a single sharp vine appeared behind her and shot out at him.
He ran towards her at high speeds, dodging that vine, as well as the ones that came after it, till he reached her and slashed at her. She jumped back from the attack and suddenly grew a tree between them, which he cut through. He then swung his scythe horizontally towards her head, forcing her to duck under the attack. He continued to spin with his attack and then used the scythe to trip her before smashing her into the ground with his fist.
"Get off her!" Eraventa yelled as she flew in with a lance of lighting.
Death grinned as he backed up and easily parried her attacks before punching her in the face and slashing her across the chest. Just as he went to aim for her head, Silva jumped up and stabbed him in the gut with both of her daggers. He simply grabbed her by the arms and threw her into Eraventa. The elemental angel knew they needed space or they were going to die, so she decided there was only one way to get him to back off. She created a lance of wind and threw it at their feet, creating a massive explosion of wind that blew everyone away.
"Agh! Damn it Eraventa!" Silva yelled angrily at the girl as they recovered midair.
"I'm sorry! It was the only thing I could think of to get him to back off of us for a second!" Ignequa explained. "But now we have a chance to breathe, so let's work together to get him now!" She then created a lance of fire and threw it down at Muerte, creating a massive explosion of fire.
"Fine!" Silva begrudgingly agreed before she began firing down large Angelic Energy blasts at Muerte.
Eraventa threw down another lance of flame, then a lance of ice, then a lance of water, then a lance of lighting, before she took a minute to catch her breathe. There was so much smoke and debris that they couldn't tell if they were hitting him or not, they just knew that the landscape was changing with every second as they wreaked havoc on the area.
When the smoke cleared they were shocked to see Muerte slowly standing up.
"How are you still alive right now!?" Eraventa demanded, shocked.
"Clearly the relic has made him more powerful than I thought." Silva answered.
"*Gasp* *Gasp* You both know too much!" Death yelled up at them. "That's why I have to kill you! My sister will be back! And you will all see her as a true angel again! In fact, she's been working on finding a way back, she'll be here soon! I can't let you stop us!"
"Can you use your lances anymore?" Silva whispered to Eraventa.
"I think I can use one more…" Ignequa said weakly.
"Well it better be enough then." Silva said before looking back down at Muerte. "You're sister is a Fallen Angel for a reason! She will never be accepted as a true angel ever again!"
"She will be! Even if we have to kill everyone who doesn't see it!" Muerte yelled again before getting ready to fly up at them.
"Ignequa, we need that lance now!" Silva ordered.
"Alright!" Eraventa fought through her tiredness and created a lance of pure Angelic Energy. "Screw you, creep! HAAAAAAAGH!" She yelled before throwing the lance, creating a massive explosion three times the size of the ones from the lances she used previously. The explosion actually pushed them back a short distance.
"Incredible…" Silva said in awe. "You really have improved."
"It was… nothing… really…" Eraventa said, breathing heavily. "You'd be surprised… what a little piece… of an Angel Relic… can do…" She said, pointing at her necklace.
Once the smoke cleared and they were able to see into the ridiculously large crater, they saw Muerte on one knee, looking at the shards in his hands. His hood had been destroyed, revealing his short dusty black hair.
"You…" He growled before standing and looking up at them. "You destroyed the relic! YOU BASTARDS!" He screamed before flying at them.
"He can still fly in his condition!?" Silva noted before he reached them, fluidly dodged their blades, grabbed them both by the throat, and flew back down and smashed them onto the ground right at the edge of the crater. Both of them were unable to get up, but Silva was just barely able to create three more vines to stab Death with. However, Death was able to dodge and cut down the vines easily.
"Well… as long as you two are dead, I guess it doesn't matter." Muerte said as he calmed down a little. "I don't even need the relic to be able to kill you two. It was nice knowing you, Silva old friend, but I simply can't let you stop me. I'm not really a bad angel, besides the whole 'killing you both' thing. At least killing angels isn't my whole purpose."
"You're still a fool." Silva said weakly. "How can you honestly believe that the angels will accept your sister back? She fought with the demons during the Great War and killed other angels."
"She had no choice!" Muerte shouted. "And when she comes back she'll explain all that and everything will be fine! My little sister can finally stop suffering."
Suddenly a large white portal appeared behind Muerte, who turned towards the portal with a surprised look.
"What!?... Yes! She did it! She can get through when I only have half the relic!" He cheered before turning to the two female angels. "I'm so happy I almost want to let you live! But… you'd both talk about me trying to kill you… and we just can't have that." He said before he began laughing maniacally.
"You know what? I'm gonna let you all see her come back before I kill you!" Muerte decided. "Allow me to introduce: The Angel of-" *BOOM*
An etheric arrow had shot out of the portal and hit Muerte in the chest, creating quite a large explosion on contact and sending him down into the deep crater.
It wasn't his sister that had come back, it was Eraventa's.
"Are you two alright?" Muriel asked as she approached the downed angels.
"Yes." Silva answered weakly.
"Yeah we'll live…" Ignequa answered before looking in the direction of the crater. "Is that creep dead?"
Muriel casually looked into the crater. "I don't think so… let me just make sure." She created a bow and arrow out of pure Angelic Energy before firing the arrow, which created an explosion that only deepened the crater. "That's for trying to kill my sister…" She growled out.
"You do care!" Eraventa shouted happily and crushed her sister in a hug.
"We went over this already… and where do you get your energy from?" Muriel asked as she tried to pry her sister off of herself.
Silva managed to stand up slowly and looked them over. "How did you know where we were?"
"I have a tracker on her." Muriel answered, pointing at her sister.
"Wait, you do!?"
"So… this is 'we'?" Silva suddenly asked.
"We?" Eraventa repeated in confusion before her eyes widened in realization. "Did I say 'we'!?" She asked in fear.
"Now I'm actually starting to consider what you said earlier." Silva started before looking Muriel in the eyes. "Unless you both actually plan on killing other angels."
Muriel glared back at Silva before turning her head towards Eraventa. "What did you tell her?"
"That we were trying to get power so we could stop the bad angels." She answered.
Muriel sighed. "Why did you tell her that?"
"Because she said she was going to turn me in to the archangels and I needed to convince her not to do that." Eraventa answered with a fearful tone.
Muriel sighed again before looking back at Silva. "Well, that's actually the gist of it. We just want to stop the evil angels. If we killed any angels it would be the ones that want to kill us… like Muerte."
Silva let out a frustrated growl at the thought of him and looked down into the smoking crater. "That fight was a disgrace! I did almost nothing to him. In fact, your little sister did far more damage than I."
"This would be our first time fighting with our powers limited." Muriel explained. 'Though it seems my bow is still very powerful.' "I understand your frustration, Silva."
"At least it's over now." Ignequa commented.
"Yes, but you two are going to have to explain to me what you're doing to stop the evil angels." Silva said. "I'm not yet convinced that you two are doing what you say you're doing."
"Fair enough. Follow us." Muriel said before she teleported the three of them back to the Angelic Realm.
Silva followed the sister angels as they went into the largely unused halls, and eventually through the secret door and into the secret room that they worked in.
"Alright, who are the warriors that you have chosen?" Silva asked them as she looked around the room.
"That takes some explaining." Muriel started. "You see, I discovered this room by chance, and found this writing on the walls." The three angels stepped closer to the wall that the writing was located on. "I'm still working on deciphering it, but I realized early on that this was a prophecy about some human boy. Somehow this boy was meant to become an angel's warrior, and something about him made him a far greater warrior than any other being that we could have utilized. I made this boy my warrior, and sent him to Remnant to see how strong he could get. He made amazing progress, until the amount of power in him let to this side effect of a demon being created."
"How powerful is this demon?" Silva asked.
"We don't know yet, but it felt about as strong as the boy was." Muriel answered. "The prophecy had told me to find another version of the boy and send him to Remnant as well, so I called my sister and had her make him her warrior. What we did differently that time, was we brought three of his friends along with him. This will both make the transition to another world easier to bear, and also split the power that she gave between the four of them, while still giving the boy of the prophecy a bit more power. Now I get why it had me find the boy twice. So far, he is showing progress, and no signs of a demon forming."
"And in the end, the whole goal of this is?" Silva asked.
"To use this powerful warrior until we find out what his purpose is, decipher the prophecy as well to find out his purpose, and hopefully this will all end with the warriors finding Angel Relics for us to give us enough power to beat any evil angels."
"There is a serious flaw in that plan." Silva commented. "You still wouldn't be safe from the Archangels who would take no chances and get rid of you."
Muriel opened her mouth to speak but Eraventa got in front of her and spoke up first.
"Well admittedly our focus is more on understanding what makes this boy so special." Eraventa said.
"So you still have no idea what it is that made him a part of this prophecy?" Silva guessed.
"Actually, it seems clear that his soul is different." Muriel answered.
"How so?" Silva asked, actually showing some curiosity.
"His soul is the only human soul that is actually stronger." Muriel answered.
"Stronger!? Not purer, but stronger!?" Silva asked, shocked.
"Yes, and it really shows on Remnant, where your power comes from your soul." Muriel answered.
"It's a shame that even angels as old as we are" She looked at Muriel when she said that." know nothing about warriors." Silva said sadly. "We never got to experience having a warrior. The only living angel that's that old is the Angel of Time."
"Dad would have known…" Eraventa mumbled sadly.
"I already talked to the old man, I couldn't get him to say anything about warriors." Muriel said. "How does our energy behave in them? How did they grow stronger? How powerful did they get back then? Did they normally get our powers on their own? How long did it take them? What were his own warrior's like?"
"I believe you." Silva said after a moment of thought. "It seems that you do just want to help. I didn't believe you two could be evil anyway."
The two sisters sighed in relief.
"But if I'm wrong about you two…" Silva started threateningly.
"We trusted you enough to show you our secret base." Eraventa pointed out as she motioned around them.
"So… should I find this boy as well? Make him my warrior?" Silva asked. "And should I give him a lot of power like you did or a little like your sister?"
"Don't make him your warrior at all." Muriel answered. Silva opened her mouth to ask why so she explained. "I'm worried that one of the dangerous angels might come across this boy multiple times while searching for relics if we all have him as our warrior. They might get curious and use him for themselves, and make no mistake, he is powerful, and should not be allowed into the wrong hands."
"I… see your point." Silva said hesitantly. "I'll just keep you secret safe with me, and help in any way that I can with your goal. After all, I want to see these angels gone as well." It was then that the leaf covered angel noticed something. "Why do you not just let the Archangels do their job? They're hunting down evil angels anyway, are they not?"
Muriel was wondering when Silva would ask this. "Our father always told us that angels were meant to do great things… Destroy all the demons, rule the multiverse and keep it safe… we are supposed to be great and powerful beings, but the Archangels have lost sight of that. They did what they thought was right. They ended the Great War because of how it was tearing apart the multiverse. They didn't want to trust the demons with a truce, but they did anyway. Because of that truce though… angels had no purpose. Some did, but not all… and that's what led to angels killing each other, and what led to the Archangels deciding they needed to put a lock on our powers. They did what they thought was right… but it's just not right!"
Muriel turned and looked at the writing on the walls.
"Rediscover the ancient ways of the Angelic Warriors, gain enough power from the Angel Relics to break the lock on our powers, use that power to find and rid the Multiverse of the murderous angels, and show the Archangels that we were meant to be powerful, so they will release the locks on our powers and let us fight demons again." She turned and looked confidently at Silva. "That is our end goal."
"I'm sure you realize that this will bring war down onto the multiverse once again?" Silva asked.
"Yes." Muriel said with a nod.
"You and I had barely been born by the time that war ended. We know nothing of fighting demons." Silva pointed out.
"We know." Eraventa said and smiled. "But back in father's day… that's just how it was! There was always war between the angels and demons. We're never going to get rid of the demons by just sitting here and killing each other, right?"
Muriel nodded and smiled at her sister.
Silva turned to Eraventa. "True. I'm sorry for trying to capture you and take you to the Archangels."
"That's ok! If you weren't there to hold him off and distract him and well… actually have a chance fighting him, I would have been dead for sure!" Eraventa exclaimed.
And that's that, the end of the book.
I have to say this now, I strongly suggest you follow me, not this fic, but me, if you haven't already. Why? Well, you need to be able to know when the next book is posted. "Wouldn't I be able to just see it in the list of RWBY fics?" I can't tell you why, but that won't work for the next thing I post. You really need to follow me, or you won't notice the next book being posted (pay attention to the wording of those last two sentences). Just trust me and follow me, K? Please? Don't you want to know what happens next?
Also, I changed the summary of book 1, might want to check it out real quick, and remember it, cause I will reference it sometime far in the future.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed, and I hope some questions were answered. I also hope new questions were brought up.
It should be noted that this story is far from over.
Have a great day everyone!
