Me: Enjoy

Jack wiggles his eyebrows and giggles "somebodies in loooveeee" he cooed, Hiccup glared at him but the effect was ruined by his blushing face. Astrid was also blushing, but she didn't love Hiccup...right? Toothless wandered over and curled up beside her, she started to rub his head and smiled a little when he made a cooing/purring noise. Every Viking was looking at her in shock, the great Astrid Hofferson was petting a Night Fury.

The screen cuts to the next day, the grounds have been transformed with banners and flags decorating the ring. All of Berk have gathered to witness this event. "Well, I can show my face in public again" said Stoick, announcing the event to the crowd who burst into laughter and applause. " If someone had told me that in a few short weeks, Hiccup would go from being, well... Hiccup, to placing first in dragon training... I would've tied him to a mast and shipped him off for fear he'd gone mad. Yes! And you know it!" Laughed Stoick before becoming serious "but here we are. And no one's more surprised... " We cut to Hiccup who is standing at the entrance to the ring, listening to his dad speak and looking miserable and burdened before we cut back to Stoick. "... or more proud than I am. Today, my boy becomes a Viking. Today he becomes one of us!" He finishes and yells and the crowd cheers once again.

Hiccup looks down, not wanting to watch when he knew exactly what was going to occur. Rapunzel frowns and pulls him into a hug, Merida glares at the other vikings, daring them to speak and Jack and Sparky cross their legs and sit in front of him alongside Casey and Toothless who nuzzle his cheek. Hiccup smiles sadly and pets them both, glad that he doesn't have to face this alone.

Astrid approaches Hiccup with concern "be careful with that dragon." Hiccup sighs, looking at the crowd "its not the dragon I'm worried about." That only makes Astrid more worried "what are you going to do?" She asks, almost not wanting to know the answer "put an end to this." He says simply, Astrid eyes him, sceptical and Hiccup sighs " I have to try" he argues before looking at her seriously "Astrid, If something goes wrong... just make sure they don't find Toothless." Astrid nods, not liking this at all "I will , just promise me it won't go wrong" but Hiccup can't. They are interrupted by Gobber " It's time, Hiccup. Knock him dead. "Hiccup puts his helmet on and enters the ring where the teens are cheering from the stands "show 'em how it's done, my man" Yells Tuffnut but it's not him Hiccup is paying attention too. He and Stoick lock eyes and his dad nods and smiles that Hicccup half-heartedly returns. He takes a deep breathe and hoists a shield onto his forearm and selects his weapon from a rack of many, decieding on a small dagger. Stoick frowns, muttering that he woulw have gone for the hammer. Hiccup turns to face a bolted, heavy door, taking a deep breathe "I'm ready" just as the words escape him the door bolt is raised. The crowd goes quiet as the doors blast open with a stream of sticky fire and a Monstrous Nightmare, coated in flames. It tears out of its cave as the crowd roars and jeers. It climbs the walls and chain enclosure like a bat, hissing at the provoking crowd and blasting fire. It spots Hiccup and descends, leering and licking the flaming drool from its lips. The crowd grows silent, bracing for the big fight.

Said Monsterous Nightmare hisses, slowly approaching Hiccup and while it was huge, it gently bumped its head against Hiccup's in a show of peace. "Hey that tickles" squeaked Hiccup, smiling gently at the dragon which whined sadly "it's alright, it's not your fault. I'm just glad you aren't hurt." The Nightmare roared in agreement and curled up around the group, as if trying to shield them. Merida chuckled and pet its head much like she would with her horse and it purred. "Are all dragons just overgrown kittens?" Asked Sparky, and Hicccup pondered on it, ignoring Toothless's pouting.

With the Monstrous Nightmare's eyes locked upon him, Hiccup deliberately drops his shield and dagger stepping away from them. The dragon pauses, confused. Stoick blinks in confusion "what is he doing?" He mumbles but no one can answer. The dragon presses closer, snorting and Hiccup extends his open hand. The dragon snarls but Hiccup whispers that it is ok, even removing his helmet and tossing it to the side. "I'm not one of them" he says, ignoring the gasps around him as well as Stoick's glare. All of Hiccup's attention is on the Nightmare, holding his hand out. It paces around him and calms down. "Stop the fight" yells Stoick but Hiccup shakes his head "no, I need you all to see this. They're not what we think they are. We don't have to kill them." But Stoick ignores his son and yells louder "I said, STOP THIS FIGHT!" Stoick whacks his hammer against the iron enclosure, rattling the arena with a terrible reverberating clatter. Spooked, the Nightmare snaps at Hiccup's outstretched hand who yelps and spring back. The Nightmare reacts to Hiccup's sudden movements and blasts another stream of fire. Hiccup screams and barely dives out of reach. We cut to the cove where Toothless's ear plates shoot up, panic flaring in his eyes.

"You idiots! If you hadn't interfered...if you had let him finish...than none of this would be happening!" Glared Merida, Stoick flinched at the look before looking at Hiccup who was being comforted by the rest of the seasons, Astrid and the three dragons surronding him. He wouldn't look Stoick in the eye and Stoick didn't blame him. He hung his head in shame...knowing that he had failed his son.

We cut back to the training grounds where Hiccup is scrambling around the ring as the Nightmare pursues him. meanwhile, Stoick is pushing his way through the crowd, rushing to the doorway. "Hiccup!" Yells Astrid, wedging her axe under the arena gate and squeezes through. We cut back to the cove where Toothless is clawing at the walls in desperation, with a burst of of effort he is able to hook a claw over the stone wall. Back at with Hiccup, he narrowly avoids a stream of fire and continues to dash around the ring, trying to evade the Monstrous Nightmare. The Nightmare destroys the weapon rack and closes in on Hiccup. Back with Toothless, he tears through the woods, tryng to take to the air. With Hiccup, Stoick Toothless tears through the woods, bounding like panther and taking to the air in short bursts. Back with Hiccup, Stoick wrenches the grated door to the arena and jumps through, the Nightmare is now only a few feet behind Hiccup. Astrid is now in the ring "Hiccup!" She yells, picking up a hammer and hurls it at the Monstrous Nightmare, hitting it in the head. This causes it to turn its attention to Astrid and start chasing her. Stoick raises the arena gate, waving her toward it "this way!" He yells, directing Astrid who makes it through, but the Nightmare blasts through the doorway, cutting Hiccup off from it. The Nightmare pounces on Hiccup and prepares to finish him off.

"I have a bad feeling in my belly" says North, Hiccup chuckles sadly "you can say that again..." North raises an eyebrow in confusion "I have a bad feeling in my belly?" Jack facepalmed "right, remind me to teach North about sarcasm." Bunny snorted "yeah, I'm sure that won't go over his head." North looked at the duo with a grin "of course it won't go over my head. My reflexes are to fast, that they are." Every teen, child, dragon, Pitch and Bunny all face-palmed in unison.

Suddenly, a terrible roar pierces through the ring "Night Fury! Get down!" Yells Gobber as Toothless bounds over the crowd and blasts a hole through a hole through the chain enclosure. He flies through it and disappears in the boiling smoke. The Vikings rush to railings in time to see a flurry of wings cutting through the dissipating smoke, Toothless and the Nightmare tumble into the clear locked in a vicious fight. Toothless kicks the Nightmare off and plants himself between Hiccup and it. The Nightmare snarls, circling them but than Toothless lunges and roars which causes the Nightmare to relent and back away. To everyone's shock and horror, Hiccup gets to his feet and grabs Toothless protectively "alright, Toothless, go...Get out of here!" He says, panic in hs voice and the crowd is gob-smacked, growing livid to the point that they charge at Toothless. Despite Hiccup's best attempts at shooing Toothless, he stays and the Vikings begin pouring clambering through the enclosure and dropping into the ring. Stoick joins them, grabs an axe and charges into the arena, ignoring the yells from Astrid and Hiccup to stop. The other Vikings surround and attack Toothless who tosses them aside, his eyes focused on Stoick. "No don't! You're only making it worse!" Pleads Hiccup, but Stoick merely raises his hammer and charges. Toothless ducks and pounces on him and pins him to the ground, everyone braces themselves. "Toothless! Stop!" Yells Hicccup, Toothless swallows back the blast and turns to Hiccup, not understanding. The vikings use the opportunity to pile on and take him down. "No! Please...just don't hurt him" begs Hiccup who is being held back by Astrid. Stoick gets to his feet, fuming, shaken, he is presented an axe and he considers it before giving the axe back. "Put it with the others!" He orders before his burning glare turn to Hiccup.

The room falls silent, Astrid frowns and looks at Hiccup who is staring at the screen as if frozen. "Hey.. it's gonna be al-" She's cut off by Hiccup burying his face in her shoulder and soft sobs fill the room. Astrid blinks in surprise before wrapping her arms around him and rubbing his back as Hiccup continues to cry. Toothless roars mournfully, nuzzling Hiccups leg and trying to comfort him as well. The Nightmare hisses at Stoick before nuzzling Hiccup's head. "Why..." whispers Hiccup, not moving from his place in Astrid's arms but everyone can hear it "...am I such a Hiccup?" That single sentence breaks every single person's heart, especially Stoick's 'Valka...what have I done...?'

Hiccup is shoved into a dimmed hall, the door slamming beside him. Stoick pushes past him, pacing against a backdrop of shadowy tapestries and carved pillars, a legacy of heroes. "I should have known. I should have seen the signs" he mumbles to himselaf angrily before turning to Hiccup in rage. "We had a deal!" He pauses, as if about to continue before resuming his pacing. " I know we did... but that was before... ughh, it's all so messed up" says Hiccup, flustered and trying to explain himself but not knowing how.

'A deal that I forced him into...a deal that I didn't even let him talk.' Thinks Stoick, forcing himself to watch the events unfurl once again. He had hurt is son, in fact he had never stopped hurting him. And here he was crying, Stoick couldn't recall ever hearing Hiccup cry since he was a baby. He was always smiling, making sarcastic comments...and Stoick and bought him to the point of tears.

"So everything in the ring. A trick? A lie?" Growls Stoick, stomping towards Hiccup " He stomps toward Hiccup who sighs " I screwed up. I should have told you before now. Take this out on me, be mad at me, but please... just don't hurt Toothless." He begs but it was the wrong words to say. "The dragon? That's what you're worried about? Not the people you almost killed?!" Yells Stoick, his face going red with rage but Hiccup doesn't stand down. "He was just protecting me! He's not dangerous" argues Hiccup making his dad scoff "they've killed hundreds of us!" "And we've killed thousands of them! They defend themselves, that's all! They raid us because they have to! If they don't bring enough food back, they'll be eaten themselves... There's something else on their island dad...it's a dragon like- " Hiccup is cut off by Stoick "their island..." he pauses and stomps back, pointing an accusing finger at Hiccup. " So you've been to the nest."

All the dragons flinch. Toothless keeps trying to get Hiccup's attention, whining until Hiccup rubs his head. He blushes brightly and is about to get up, mumbling apologies to Astrid but to his surprise she only holds him closer. Hiccup rests his head on her shoulder and she holds him close, daring anyone to say anything.

"Did I say nest?" Winces Hiccup, realising too late that he's said too much. "How did you find it?!" Demands Stoick and Hiccup looks away "no... I didn't. Toothless did. Only a dragon can find the island." Stoick glares before an idea takes form, Hiccup watches him stomp to the doorway and realises what's going on. "Oh no. No, Dad. No. "Hiccup chases after him, panicked. " Dad. It's not what you think. You don't know what you're up against. It's like nothing you've ever seen" he pleads, grabbing Stoick by the arm, tugging with all his might but of course it has no effect. " Please. I promise you that you can't win this one. For once in your life, would you please just listen to me?!" Stoick glares, throwing Hiccup off of him and swatting him to the floor. Hiccup stares back, stunned and Stoick glares "you've thrown your lot in with them...You're not a Viking. You're not my son. " And with that Stock pushes through the door, leaving Hiccup alone and devastated. "Ready the ships!" He calls, getting ready to set off.

Hiccup flinches, whatever light had appeared in his eyes vanished. The seasons and Astrid all exchanged looks before pulling him into a large hug...because Hiccup needs to know more than ever that he is loved. And Astrid knew than and there that she did.

And thats all for now guys, stay tuned because. I'm really sorry that I've taken so long but they are only a few chapters remaining and I will try to have them completed and released before the end of next week at the latest. XXX Sparky
