It was perfect.

Alice, the one time rogue Umbrella B.O.W super soldier, stood at the end of the aisle, wearing a sharp black suit. Around her stood K-Mart, Betty, Otto, Carlos, Chase and the priest presiding over the wedding.

Only one person wasn't presently at her side...

Because she was at the end of the aisle.

Claire's vibrant red hair stood out against the stunning white wedding dress she wore, and in her hands was a stunning bouquet.

Alice's mouth went dry like the Nevada desert. Claire's radiant beauty literally took her breath away. And the sight of her slowly walking down the aisle, Alice was thankful she was Telekinetic, otherwise she'd have fallen to her knees by now.

By the time that Claire stood before her, Alice was almost certain that her thundering heartbeat was audible even from outside the chapel.

Mere feet from her, Claire smiled from behind her veil, which Alice gently lifted from her face, both of them trying not to completely burst into tears.

As the priest droned on, Alice couldn't take her eyes off Claire's face. She was going to marry her. See her face beside her on the pillow every morning... after a long night of passionate sex of course.

At long last, the only moment she actually gave a shit about...

"You may now kiss the bride."

The moment their lips met, time itself stood still. Alice would never forget the feeling of Claire's lips on her own at that moment, her arms around Claire's waist, and Claire's around her neck.

It was perfect. Completely and utterly perfect.

Alice shot bolt upright in bed, gasping loudly. Her fingers were curling around an invisible... something.

It took several seconds, but as Alice's senses caught up to her mind, she realized that the pattering of rain on the window wasn't the only sound in the room...

She was crying.

Gingerly touching one of the trailing tears, Alice instinctively glanced over to the other side of the bed... But found it to be empty, forcing even more tears down her cheeks.

Of course it'd be empty... She was dead... Gone...

Murdered.

Flashes of that fateful night bombarded Alice's mind, and a cacophany of conflicting sounds and emotions threatened to overcome her as she struggled to fight off the memory of losing Claire.

It was too much.

Alice had shrugged off bullets, explosives, devestaing impacts, and hell, she even jumped off an eleven story prison roof and landed without a single scratch!

But this?

This wound would never heal. It was too deep.

Alice finally broke down, her tears staining the blanket as she pulled her kness up to her chest and sobbed, remembering the fateful moment when she and Claire kissed on their wedding day...

It was so... Perfect.
