"You don't have to do this you know, you can stay here."
Claire had been talking to Zara about going to Jurassic World with her for weeks now and she still didn't really want her to go. It's not that she didn't want Zara there with her, it's that she was afraid of what might happen.
Sure, she knew that there was guarantied safety there at the 'park', but there was always a little part of her mind filled with the 'what if's' of the situation. What if a dinosaur got loose? What if they can't get it back into its cage? What if people die? But she had managed to push them back deeper into her mind. That is, she had been able to up until the point when Zara had said that she was going with her.
"But why would I stay here if you're going to be there?" There was a sweet but faint smile on Zara's face, something that Claire found especially hard to argue with.
Claire found herself starting to tear up a little bit, something unusual for her. She couldn't help it though, she was touched by the words Zara had said, well, that and she was afraid. She knew that now it was official, Zara was coming with her, and that made her terrified.
Nothing could happen to Zara, she wouldn't allow it.
Claire awoke with a jolt and a scream, the memories of her past still haunting her. Why did she still have to remember?
It had been four months since Jurassic World had officially shut down for good. They had torched the island and gotten rid of any more research or dinosaurs that had been left there.
Owen had been upset about the idea of killing off the rest of the dinosaurs, but he knew that it had to be done to prevent any other accidents from happening. Claire rarely ever heard from him again anyway.
After the second month, Owen and Claire split up for reasons that Claire had kept secret from anyone that bothered to ask. Much to the disapproval of her sister, Claire was once again single. It didn't matter what Claire's sister thought though, she didn't know the whole story.
No one did.
