Chapter 8: Relationships

The elevator dinged, and the doors opened. Scott, Allison and Stiles stepped out and headed toward their destination. They opened the door to Lydia's room.

"Hello, my friends," Lydia said. She emphasized 'friends' venomously while looking at them in anger.

"Come on Lydia," Allison pleaded. Lydia still had a look of displeasure on her face, not at all moved by her pleas. "We're sorry. We were trying to protect you."

Lydia showed them the wound inflicted by Peter, "Well that didn't work out great did it?" she snapped at them.

The trio looked guilty as she pointed out their flaw in logic to them, their failure.

"Lydia…" Allison didn't know what to say. The redhead had been correct. Keeping her out of the loop hadn't helped her at all. "I'm sorry, I was just getting used to this myself. I guess I wanted to have a friend who didn't know about the supernatural."

"Allison, I'm still your friend. I'm angry, but I'm still your friend. So are you the werewolf?"

"What?" they asked in unison, confused. Lydia didn't know she was the hunter? The way Nico spoke this morning and Percy spoke last night, Allison thought they were going to tell her everything.

"So not the werewolf, I guess that means Scott's the werewolf?" She looked at Scott.

"So Percy didn't tell you which one of us was a werewolf?" Stiles asked.

"No, he introduced himself, apologized for his uncle being a massive dick and biting me. Then he told me his family members were werewolves. He went into his history a little bit, werewolves and other things. After that he told me I was a friend with a hunter and werewolf and then he ranted a bit about how stupid it was for a person to be your anchor. Then he told me what I am apparently. Then we played chess," she explained the order of events quite clearly.

The three looked at her eagerly, awaiting her to tell them what she was. Of course it didn't take her long to notice the fact that they were about to drill a hole into her purely with their eyes.

"What?" she asked.

"What are you?" Stiles asked.

Lydia laughed humorlessly, "And why would I tell you that?" she smirked at them.

"So we can help you," Stiles said like it was obvious.

Lydia gave them a haughty look. "And how exactly do you plan to do that? You don't even know what I am. And even if you did, Percy already offered to help me, which I accepted."

"Lydia he's a killer!" Stiles said. "I bet he didn't tell you that…"

The banshee cut him off. "In order to become an Alpha you must kill another," Lydia smirked at them. "Yes, I'm aware of the fact."

"Then why?" Allison asked.

"Because he hasn't lied to me for several months, he's known me for less than a day and had enough respect for me to tell me the truth. Whereas my best friend kept me in the dark for months about werewolves and her being a hunter!" her soft voice elevated as she snapped at them.

Lydia took a deep breath and calmed herself before going on, "And you weren't even planning on telling me what happened. Or at least I'm assuming the last bit but it stands to reason with you not telling me anything."

Stiles, Allison and Scott looked even guiltier than before.

"Allison could you do me a favour?" the redhead asked.

"Yeah, what is it?"

"In my closet there's a sleeveless, strapless, red dress, could you get it for me?"

"Sure," Allison said slowly, she was slightly confused but was more than willing to do this small favour to get back in the good graces of her friend. "But why do you need it?"

"It's for my date with Percy," she answered.

"WHAT?" the three yelled.

Lydia smiled at them, obviously amused with their reaction, and placed a finger to her lips, "Hospital."

"What do you mean you have a date with Percy?" Stiles asked.

"I know you've probably never been on one, but a date is when two people go out together in a romantic setting," Lydia explained patronizingly.

Stiles looked a bit hurt at what Lydia said, even if it was true. Allison on the other hand, having got her explanation, simply nodded, "Alright, Lydia I'll get you the dress."

"Great," Lydia said. "Now go, also bring me my make up." Lydia shooed them out of her room.

Scott, Allison and Stiles looked at each other after being kicked out.

"What was that?" Stiles asked bewildered. "You're actually going to get her the stuff?"

Allison sighed.

"At the moment, Lydia doesn't trust us. My best friend doesn't trust me," she said as she looked at the ground, hurt, Scott wrapped his arms around her in order to ease her even just a bit. "So I'll do whatever I can to get that trust back. Maybe that way she'll let us help her."

"Guys, at the moment there isn't much we can do. Neither Lydia nor Percy will tell us what she is, and even if they did, what could we do? I'm a werewolf, and I know very little about my own species. Allison is new to this hunter thing. Even if we found out, what could we do?" Scott asked.

"We could help her by researching things, like I did with you," Stiles suggested.

Scott nodded at Stiles. "Ok, what exactly do we know about her?"

"She smells like death, she went for a walk in the middle of the night, she was bitten by Peter but isn't a werewolf. She doesn't have regenerative abilities, and is going on a date with a murderer," Stiles said. "I'm going to go do some research."

"I'm going to do get Lydia's things. I'll see you later," Allison said.

"Yeah, sure," Scott responded.

Percy was glaring at Nico. "Why did you get me a date? I don't want a date. Lydia may be beautiful but I didn't want to date her. I barely know her."

Nico rolled his eyes. "Yeah, yeah, go have a shower."

"Nico don't 'yeah, yeah' me. Why did you need to have me come on your date?"

Nico walked away to shower, the master bedroom had its own bathroom. Nico knew the reason why he had asked Danny if Percy and Lydia could come and make it a double date.

He was scared.

This was the first date he was going on since his break up. It had only been a month, and he wasn't sure if he was ready, so having Percy and Lydia there made it seem like friends hanging out, it also gave him a chance to observe Lydia. Besides, Percy had a crush on her and he needed a life outside of training and killing monsters.

Percy wanted to strangle his cousin. Just because someone has crush doesn't mean they have to go on a date. For Gods sakes he hardly knew Lydia, she was beautiful and she seemed like a mix between a daughter of Athena and a daughter of Aphrodite, and well, a daughter of Thanatos, being a banshee and all.

But still. Didn't mean he wanted to date her, he really didn't need any more complications. Percy sighed, and walked to the bathroom, he had lost that battle.

Allison knocked on the door to Lydia's house; she had to wonder if she was doing the right thing. Why did she want to get her friend's trust back? And Percy didn't seem evil or anything, but he had still killed a werewolf to gain power. But she was going to trust that Lydia knew what she was doing. Because she had no clue what even she, herself, was doing.

The door opened just enough to reveal Lydia' mother, "Allison, what are you doing here?"

"Lydia asked me grab some stuff for her."

Natalie stepped aside and invited the young hunter with a gesture of her hand.

"Thanks, I'll be as quick as possible," Allison said as she walked up the stairs to Lydia's room. She opened Lydia's closet, and sighed, Lydia had a lot of clothes, finding a single dress would not be easy. Then saw it out of the corner of her eye. That was easier than she had thought it would be.

Now for her makeup, Lydia had a lot of makeup, which ones did she want? Allison decided to go with the one that had the most, which would allow Lydia more choice.

Percy growled and punched the mirror as he cursed the bane of his existence, "Stupid tie."

"Why are you wearing a suit?" Nico asked.

"Isn't this what people wear on first dates?" Percy asked, he wasn't familiar the concept of dating much.

"Yeah, if you're going high-class restaurant, we're going bowling."

"How was I supposed to know that? You didn't say anything." Though Percy knew he could've asked. Percy walked over to his cupboard and pulled out jeans and a hoodie, "Also I won't be bowling."

"Why not?"

"I'm worse at bowling then I am at archery." Nico's eyes went wide, if Percy was worse at bowling than at archery, then oh Gods, they were all going to die tonight. Nico never thought his demise would come because of terrible bowling skills, the son of Hades rubbed his left shoulder blade, Percy had somehow managed hit his shoulder blade with an arrow, despite the fact that Nico was standing thirty feet behind him.

"Yeah, you better not bowl, you can watch or something," Nico agreed, if an arrow hurt as much as it did, how bad you would a bowling ball slamming into his shoulder hurt?

Allison walked into Lydia's room and placed her stuff on the bed. "I wasn't sure what makeup you wanted? So I hope this is ok."

Lydia gave a small smile, "its fine, and thanks."

Allison nodded, and with her work done she turned to leave.

"Banshee," Lydia's voice stopped her. She turned back to face her.

"Huh?" the huntress asked, confused.

"What I am, I am a Banshee apparently. It's still being processed."

"Banshee? What's that?"

"I'm not entirely sure, neither is Percy, apparently he only knows the basics. Nico and Annabeth were the ones who discovered it."

"I see," Allison said, wondering who Annabeth was. "You need help getting ready?"

"I suppose." Allison smiled at the redhead, glad to know that their relationship was on the right path.

"Do you where you going?" she asked.

"Well knowing Danny, we're probably going bowling, he loves bowling." Allison raised her eyebrow, what did Danny have to with the date? Lydia smiled at her friend. "It's a double date, Percy and I, with Danny and Nico."

"Oh," Allison uttered. "Well I hope you don't let yourself be bad on purpose like you did with Jackson."

Lydia smiled, "No, I don't think Percy would be happy if I gave it less than one hundred percent, he doesn't seem the type to have to be the best."

"Well good, at least he has some good qualities."

Lydia turned to her friend with a fierce expression on her face, "What's that supposed to mean?"

"Nothing."

"Allison no more lies," Lydia pressed on firmly.

"Lydia he's an alpha, he killed someone. He murdered another person for power," Allison explained her reason for not liking Percy.

Something in Lydia snapped, she didn't know how or why, but it happened, "HE DIDN'T KILL ANYONE! He's a true alpha. Stop judging him before you know him. He's kind, sweet, patient, handsome, strong, and he seems to be the only who interested in whether I'm doing ok! Just being with him or thinking about him makes me happy. Stop judging."

"You're one to talk!" Allison snapped. "All you do is judge people. Look at how you treat people; you treat everyone at school as if they're below you unless they can boost your popularity. Look at Scott and Stiles, they're great guys and you treated them as if they didn't exist before I started dating Scott and he became co-captain of the lacrosse team. You even judge yourself based on how another people view you, you hide how smart you are for no reason other than because you think it will make people judge you as nerd or geek!"

"GET OUT!" Lydia ordered her out. Allison stormed out the room and down the stairs. It took her until she got to her car to remember that Lydia claimed Percy didn't kill anyone, that he has was a true alpha, whatever that meant.

Allison sighed, she hadn't meant to yell at Lydia, she was her best friend, but with everything going on lately her emotions had been so high strung. She had to trust Lydia if she wanted to continue to be friends, she knew that, so why couldn't she do it? She had to wonder why life was so complex.

"I'm driving," Nico told Percy sternly as he grabbed the keys.

Percy rolled his eyes; he didn't believe his driving was quite that bad. They had been in a rush which was why Percy had sped to school. He wouldn't be speeding now because there was no rush. But he wasn't going to argue either.

As they drove Percy noticed Nico looked nervous. "You ok?"

Nico didn't speak, just nodded.

"You don't have to do this you know, a month is a short time to start dating again after a long-term relationship. Nobody expects you to find a new boyfriend."

"I… I know," Nico whispered. "But I like him."

"Nico, I'm not an expert or anything, but just because you like someone doesn't mean you have to date them if it's too soon. I've never met Danny but I'm sure he would understand."

"Yeah, probably, but I can do this," Nico resolved.

"Ok," Percy said. But he would be watching Nico just in case.

They arrived at the hospital and walked to Lydia's room, they were going to walk to Lydia's room and then Nico was going to shadow travel them back to the car. That was the plan anyway, but when they got there Lydia was still sitting on her bed in her hospital gown.

Nico looked at Percy, "I-I'm going get some coffee," he said as he walked away, he didn't even like coffee.

Percy walked into her room, "Lydia," he spoke softly as he sat down next to her, "what's the matter?"

"I had a fight with Allison, I yelled at her, and I don't know why," she said. "No, that's a lie, I know why."

"You can tell me if you want," he placed hand around her shoulders. She turned and looked at him, their green eyes locked together.

"Because of you," she answered.

Percy had a shocked look on his face, "Me? Lydia I never meant to come between you and Allison or anyone else. I'll back off if you want."

"No," Lydia responded angrily, "I need you. I don't mean it like that… well I do. It's confusing. I just need your help. So much is happening and you're the only one who seems to be honest with me. Promise me you'll help me, please."

Lydia seemed so vulnerable right now, all the strength she was using to hide how scared, confused, and everything else she felt had faded temporarily and Percy saw the girl underneath.

He pulled her into a hug, "I promise I'll do everything in my power to help you, I'll even work my way into the underworld and beat up Thanatos to drag him up here if that is what it takes."

"How are you so perfect?" Lydia asked.

"Not perfect," Percy replied, "Experienced."

Nico could only smile as he drank his coffee (it was disgusting). He could do this, he shadow travelled straight to the bowling place, and walked in. He looked around and saw Danny at the counter. Gods, he was hot.

"Hey," he said as he walked up to him, "Percy and Lydia won't be joining us, there having a... something. And I couldn't bring myself to interrupt so it's just the two of us."

Danny smiled at Nico, "Great, so how good are you at bowling?"

"Oh, I've never bowled in my life."

"Then I guess I'll have to teach you," he said flirtatiously.

Nico smiled, he was thinking about how much he'd like bowling.

Nico appeared out of the shadows in his house. "How was bowling?"

"Argh," Nico jumped into the air. Percy was sitting on the couch eating Chinese food as he watched Nico get his bearings together after his mini scare.

"I love bowling," Nico grinned.

"Really?" Percy smiled, "How come?"

"Danny, and that's literally the only good part about it. I scored twenty seven."

Percy smiled, glad to see Nico so happy, and his skills in bowling seemed to be almost as bad as his own.

"So what happen with Lydia?" Nico asked as he took a box of Chinese food and sat down next to Percy.

"Nothing really, we talked a bit, and while we both agreed there's a mutual attraction and it's definitely strong, that we're going to wait until things get better with her and Allison.

"Your idea?"

"Totally my idea," Percy grinned.

"You know this is why chicks dig you right? The super badass but kind, patient, and selfless thing you got going for you."

"Really, I thought it was because of my cheekbones."

"That's part of it. Can I be there when you introduce her to Tyson?"

Percy laughed, "Sure."

A/n: This was beta by YeTianshi.

Also I same months but I'm pretty sure it's like it's a month and a half or something like that from the start of season 1 to season 2.

Just so where clear NO ONE FROM TEEN WOLF IS A DEMIGOD! Or no one so far.

And why did Lydia ask for a fancy dress if she knew their were going bowling? Well just to mess with Percy, of course.
