Chapter 18
Nami woke up groggily, her eyes were slowly opening as she found herself alone in some alley way. She seem to have no idea how she'd gotten here in the first place or what happened before. Then it struck her. Her idiot captain jumped into the pond despite her shouting at him not to. When she finds him she'll certainly give him the pummeling of his life, times ten.
"Though that still doesn't explain how I got here..." She told herself.
"I can agree on that Miss Navigator."
She looked around for the source of the voice until she eventually found a pair of eyes and mouth on the wall.
"Robin?!" She said in surprise at seeing her crew's archaeologist. "What are you doing here?!"
"I can ask you the same thing Miss Navigator." the face said in amusement, giving a short giggle.
"Oh, right. My bad." Nami said with an embarrassed grin. "Anyway do you know where we are?"
"From what I can gather during my time here, we are inside a kingdom." Robin explained. "It seems to be more technologically advanced."
"That sounds amazing." Nami said nonchalantly. "Anyways are the others here too?"
"Unfortunately I can't find them." Robin said with a frown.
Nami sighed. "Figured as much. Where are you anyways?"
"Right now I'm currently at a bookstore called Tukson's Book Trade. It's just down the street to your left." Robin answered as the face then disappears from the wall.
The navigator of the Straw hats exited the seemingly dark alley and into the bright streets. As she followed Robin's directions, she looked around in amazement at the technology that her archaeologist friend told her about. She saw multiple cars that she never thought were possible, roaming the streets as pedestrians walked at the side of the roads and some transparent light posts, it was usually rare for someone to own a engine powered vehicle. She noticed that most of the people were carrying around rectangular transparent objects and were communicating through it as if it were a Transponder Snail. What surprised her the most was when she looked at the sky, ships were flying around.
Of course she'd seen ships fly before but never this widely used. Wherever she is, it's most definitely one of the most rich and advanced places she'd been to. Once she reached the book shop, she was greeted by it's owner.
"Welcome to Tukson's Book Trade, home to every book under the sun." He proclaimed with a catchphrase. "What can I do for you today miss?"
"I'm here to meet a friend that told me to come here." Nami looked around and saw Robin at one shelf reading a book called The Man with Two Souls. "Hi Robin."
"Ah Nami." The black haired woman smiled, putting the book away to give her friend a hug. "How about we take this conversation somewhere else, we've much to discuss about."
"You're right. But first we need to find out where we are?" Nami walked to the owner. "Hey do you have a map of the kingdom, I've sort of lost mine coming here."
"Sure." Tukson said as he gave her a pamphlet. "Always kept those handy."
"Thanks!" said Nami as she and Robin headed out the store.
While walking they talked about where they wanted to go. Robin suggested the library but Nami wanted to go somewhere nice such as a cafe, plus she was hungry for some reason.
"I'm sorry to inform you Nami," Robin said. "But this kingdom we're currently in does not accept Beli."
"Eh! So that means everywhere around here!" Nami said in shock.
"Precisely," said Robin. "They use something called Lien, it resembles some cards but are colored differently on one side of each card."
"Man that sucks." Nami said in disappointment as she placed her hands behind her head. "It's strange that this place doesn't use the world currency, maybe we are in a place that is independent from the World Government. Then again I don't have my wallet on me for some reason."
Her friend giggled. "I'm sure you can come up with some money knowing your skills."
"I guess you're right."
The Navigator then saw two people coming up, one with silvery-gray hair and the other with mint green. As they passed by each other Robin smiled at the boy causing him to smile back and check her out briefly while his partner looked at him in disgust. After they were far away enough from the pair, Nami pulled out a wallet containing the prize they were looking for. Although it was several cards, they think it was enough to get them some food judging from the numbers and colors on each card.
Now sitting at a cafe, Nami was reading the pamphlet that had the map of the kingdom they were in as she and Robin waited for their food and drinks. She tried to look for information about how long it would take for a log pose to set but to no avail. She checked her own log pose on her wrist to see that it was completely motionless.
"This is strange Robin," Nami commented.
"How so?"
"The log pose isn't setting at all, do you think we are on an island that has no magnetism at all?"
"Hmm, perhaps we aren't even on the Grandline anymore." Robin said answering her friend's question as their order has arrived. "Maybe we are in one of the Blues."
Nami decided to ask the waitress that came to serve them, who apparently had dog ears. Seemed strange to her but doesn't bother her at all and didn't question it. "Hey do you know which part of the ocean we're on."
"Why we're near the Cauldron Sea if that's what you're asking?" The waitress answered.
"Um... Sure..." Nami awkwardly said as the info she'd just obtained did not help her at all.
"Is there something wrong Miss?"
"Oh no!" Nami said nervously, waving her hand. "You see me and my friend live outside the kingdom in a secluded village, so we never knew much about the outside world."
"Oh that makes sense." The waitress seemingly bought the half fabricated story. "If that's the case then I suggest you head for the library."
"Thanks we were going to head there anyway." said Nami with a smile.
"So what brings you to Vale?" the waitress asked.
"We came here to meet some friends here." Robin answered playing along. "They invited us to stay for a couple days and go sight seeing. Though we can't seem to find them."
"Surely you can go to the police station if you're lost, but if you really can't find who you're looking for." The waitress looked around her surroundings for a brief moment before leaning in to whisper. "There's a place in downtown where you can get some information. Anything you need, Junior's the guy you're looking for."
"Thank you for this." said Robin.
"By the way, you have some cute ears." Nami complimented.
"Aww why thank you."
"Hey Mocha where are you right now?! We need you to bring out more of the orders!"
"Sorry I have to go, nice talking to you though."
Once the waitress left Nami and Robin started to eat their food.
"It's good," said Nami. "But I feel like it's missing something."
"Agreed," said Robin. "I think we've been spoiled by Sanji's cooking for too long."
"I guess you're right." said Nami as they both giggled.
Once finished with their meals, both the female members of the Straw hats went to the library. It took some time as well despite having a map. Upon entering the Library they were greeted by transparent man that appeared out of thin air, shocking them, though Robin still had her calm and collective expression.
"What The Hell!" Nami shouted with her arms raised and one knee up.
"I would advise against that sort of behavior in here Ma'am." the person said, upon further inspection there was a name tag on his chest that says Apollo Bleu.
"Please forgive my friend we were just startled by you're appearance," Robin apologized to the holographic man.
"Ah so you must be from outside the kingdoms." Apollo said assumingly.
"You could say that." said Nami scratching her chin. "What are you exactly?"
"What you see here before you is a mere holographic projection of myself," Apollo explained. "I'm also a librarian here."
"So that means your real body is somewhere else then?" said Robin.
"Correct," Apollo answered. "Now then what can I help you with today?"
"We would like to view the history and geographical section please." said Nami.
A dark blue holographic screen appeared next to Apollo with a lighter blue section that had a similar colored trail leading towards it. "Here you go, right by the fictional and magazine section. Enjoy your stay."
With that Apollo's projection disappeared and the two Straw hats continued their journey to acquire knowledge. What they found was shocking to them. Instead of a world divided into four great oceans was one that had five large land masses, four of the named Sanus, Anima, Solitas, and Menagerie while the dragon looking one does not have a name. They were on Sanus, and near the Cauldron Sea like that Waitress said to them before.
"No way, how could this be?!" Nami said trying to contain as rising tone. "Are we seriously on another World?!"
"It would appear so Nami." said Robin in her calm tone, though she had beads of sweat coming down her head.
They continued on by reading the history of the World of Remnant, learning about Mankind's and Faunus origins along with this power source called Dust. Most of all, learning about the creatures of Grimm. These creatures had halted mankind's progress if not for Dust, leading to the creation of the four kingdoms, and eventually the huntsman academies. It was still unknown how the creatures of Grimm came to be but there had been theories and speculations.
"Just looking at them is just giving me shivers." Nami said, viewing the pictures of what they looked like. "Hopefully we don't need to encounter them ever."
"Unless we keep our emotions in check," said Robin. "Says here that they are attracted to negative emotions such as sadness, anger, and fear."
This info gave Nami even more shivers. "I don't think I need to hear that Robin."
Robin giggled. "Sorry."
"Thank goodness there are these Huntsmen that keep these monsters at bay." said Nami in relief which then turned into sadness. "Though it's kind of sad how the Faunus are treated."
The history of the Faunus was indeed sad, both the Straw hats themselves knows what it's like to get mistreated. Even though they're both human, Nami remembered all those times she and her island had been mistreated by Arlong and his crew. She'd been force to work for that godforsaken crew to earn enough money to by back her island before meeting Luffy. Robin knew what life's been like as an outsider, even from her own people, especially one who knows how to read forbidden and ancient texts. Unlike Nami she'd spent all of her life jumping from one organization to another before finding a place with the Straw hats.
Robin had a moment of sorrow before agreeing. "No one should ever be treated like that, but now that we have all the information we need. I think it's time to find if the rest of our crew is here."
"But what if they're not here though?" Nami doubtfully said, lowering her head. "We're on another world as ludicrous it sounds. There's a possibility that they're not here."
Robin placed her hand on Nami's shoulders to comfort her. "Nami if there's a possibility that they're not here with us, then there's a possibility that they are. We can't just give up on them while they didn't give up on us."
Nami looked up to see the Archaeologist's reassuring smile, this seems to have made her optimistic again. "Your right. We can't just stay here worrying about everyone, they can pretty much handle themselves. Once we find them I'm sure we'll find our way back home."
"Or there's a possibility that they are in a different world full of nothing but death and despair." Robin morbidly joked.
"I wish you'd stop saying stuff like that Robin..." Nami shuddered.
Their next stop was this place Mocha described to them and it was seemingly a bit dark since it was under a highway. Inside the place it was teaming with colorful lights and music the Straw hats never heard before. It's duly noted that there were men, presumably the ones who worked here, mostly wore black and red suits and were all over the place meaning that the Straw hats shouldn't trouble unless things got out of hand. Now arriving at the bar where usual info exchange happens they were met by a large bartender that was currently cleaning the glass.
"What can I get you?" he asked with a stern face.
"Yes I was wondering if we can have some information?" said Nami with her hand on her hip. "Were looking for some people."
"The last time someone asked for that trashed my entire place when they didn't get what they want." The bartender said.
"Don't worry about that," Robin reassured. "We would never do something that petty. Are you Junior by any chance?"
"Yeah what about it." he said.
Nami placed both her hands on the table. "Look, all we want to do is find these people and they're really important to us. Can you help us or not?!"
After a couple seconds Junior replied. "You'll have to order a drink first."
Nami sighed. "Fine, just get me and her some grog."
As Junior gave them two mugs, Nami briefly explained what her crew mates look like and do, leaving out the important details such as their fighting prowess and a certain musician's physical appearance. Junior never had seen such people, however he did hear a rumor from a friend that a couple months back some kid wearing a Straw hat was fighting with a group of hunters and huntresses in training from Beacon Academy against the wanted criminal Roman Torchwick who apparently had a giant ship full of robots. When asked about what these people looked like he gave them color descriptions such as Red, White, Black, Yellow, Green, and Pink, not much else. Just recently he heard from that very same friend that a week ago the Straw hat kid encountered Roman at the docks, this time a green haired man and a blonde with an odd eyebrow came with him.
With this info it sort of confirmed that their captain was here along with their swordsman and cook, and set their way on their journey to find them. Little did they know their info breaker made a call.
"Hey Robin did you think that guy was telling the truth?" Nami asked as she and Robin were strolling along the sidewalk.
"Of course," Her friend answered. "But not the entire truth, he probably knows something about our crew."
"I bet he knew that we were holding back too," Nami said. "I wouldn't be surprised that his friend was this Roman guy he talked about, that club did seem sketchy. Then again we are pirates, but we're better than those jerks we've dealt with in the past."
While true with a small bit of irony aside, they suddenly heard a distressed shout. Nodding to each other Robin crossed her arms and focused where the shout came from. Her devil fruit powers granted her to open a pair of eyes on a wall far from them to see what was the commotion. It was the dog Faunus they've met at the cafe, she was surrounded by a group of men who had the intent on harming her. She was also seen protecting a small boy who also had dog ears. Robin summoned a pair of ears to hear.
"Leave us alone!" Mocha growled at the assailants. "We haven't done anything to any of you!"
"If you want to pass through here," said one of them. "You're going have to pay the toll."
"We don't need to pay you anything!" the boy shouted.
"Chip quiet!" Mocha said.
"Is that really so little animal?" The leader of the group maliciously grinned. Both Faunus scowled at the nick name.
"Who're you calling litt-"
"Chip that's enough!"
"Better listen to your big sister Chip." the leader said. "Or do I have to put you down."
"Look just take our money and go!" Mocha pleaded. "Please just leave us!"
"Oh I think it's a bit more than money I'm afraid." The entire gang pulled out their knives and pistols. Mocha and Chip were forced into a wall, helpless to defend themselves.
However before anyone could touch them one of the men suddenly fell down with a bump on his head. They were all confused until a voice spoke.
"My, attacking defenseless kids, no wonder we have scum like you in the world."
"Who are you!" the lead demanded. "Show yourself!"
In an instant Nami appeared holding her Clima-Tact Staff, surprising all of them.
"We got a Huntress!" One of the men said using his gun to shoot at her but the bullet went right through, making the now smirking mirage disappear. "What the! Where she go!"
"Over here!" He looked at the direction where the suppose "huntress" called out, only to get hit by a ball of thunder shocking him unconscious. A guy with a knife attempted to stab her, but Nami jabbed at his gut with her staff before smacking his head. Before two more could either approach her an enchantment was spoken.
"Dos Fleur..."
Suddenly two arms sprouted out on each goon, freaking them and the bystanders out.
"The Hell is This!"
"What's Happening!"
"Clutch!" The arms then cover their mouths and starts to bend them backwards. The end result was back-breaking, Mocha had to cover her brother's eyes. No screams ever came.
Robin came striding in casually with her arms crossed, dispelling the limbs that seemed to have grown out of the muggers. She noticed the leader trying to escape but she summoned more arms to contain him. As he tripped Robin smirked as two pairs of legs sprouted beneath him and started marching towards her. Nami on the other hand went over to Mocha and her brother to see if they're alright.
"Hey you guys okay?" Nami asked.
"Thanks, we're fine by the way." Mocha replied. "You're that girl I've seen at the cafe earlier right?"
"Yep that's right."
"That was awesome!" said Chip enthusiastically. "The way you came out of nowhere! Was that your semblance?"
"Well not exactly." Nami began to explain. "I only seem to came out of nowhere by using my staff to manipulate the air around me. Thankfully it was hot in this area."
"So in other words it's a mirage created by dust," said Mocha.
"Correct!" said Nami giving a wink while holding up two fingers. 'Not really, but I'll need to play along in order to blend in.' She extended her hand out for Mocha to grab. "Names Nami by the way and that over there is Robin."
"Mocha," The faunus introduced her self. "This little guy right here is Chip."
"Thanks for saving us," Chip said. "I would've totally take on those guys if I wasn't so... small."
"He's ten by the way." Mocha said.
"And attending a combat school." Chip added. "I'm going to be the best Huntsman when I grow up."
"Sure you are." Nami agreed as she turned to the guy all tied up by arms. "Now then let's see what this guy has to say."
"Let go of me you freak!" he said struggling. "You don't know who your messing with!"
"Why were you mugging these people?" Robin asked.
"To get their money! What else!" he answered.
"That's not what I all heard." Robin said, revealing that she spied on them. The man growled in frustration.
"Their Animals! It's What They Get!" He blurted out.
"People like you disgust me." Robin said coldly.
"People like me always have some back up." He said, grinning maliciously as more people came with some makeshift weapons and civilian guns. They surrounded Nami, Robin, Mocha, and Chip completely. "Might as well give up now, and hand them over to us."
"Not going to happen," Nami replied. "Think we can take them Robin."
"The fact that these guys are common thugs, I'm sure our chances are high." Robin said.
"Hey we aren't your average everyday muggers!" the guy proclaimed. "We're a growing militia destined to wipe out all the Faunus in the world!"
"These guys are pretty much White Fang wannabes." Mocha explained. "While their goals are obviously different, they aren't much of a real threat to the actual White Fang."
"Like you would know." the guy said.
"Hey not every Faunus wants to be some extremist nut job!" said Mocha.
Nami gripped her weapon tightly as the group of thugs were getting closer. However before any side could attack they heard someone shout.
"Hey this looks interesting, mind if I join!" Suddenly one of the thugs went flying. The culprit revealed herself to be a fiery blonde with gauntlets. "The names Yang by the way." She then punches another thug attempting to sneak on her.
Nami blocked a machete, and whacked the user on the head before doing an uppercut. Robin had all thirteen pairs of hands full with people surrounding her, she chuckled in amusement as she closed her fists before hearing the cracks of spines popping. Mocha mostly tried to keep herself and her brother away from the fight but Chip seemed insistent to spectate, which she responded by pulling him back closer. Yang used her gauntlets to parry three guys who were in front of her before shooting the ground to create a small explosion to knock them all away. All three fighters then had to dodge a volley of bullets, Nami and Robin took cover behind some cars while Yang zig zagged around and tanking shots before rearing her fist back to fire more of her explosive shells.
"Such an interesting weapon don't you think." Robin commented.
"Yeah it's great, but I think we should end this fight already." said Nami as she bent an end of her Clima-Tact staff into the adjacent piece, she removed the combined pieces before throwing it like a boomerang. "Cyclone Tempo!"
The pieces at each end produce temperatures of both hot and cold, their colors were respectively red and blue. The spinning caused the airs to combine and produce large winds to blow their opponents away. Robin crossed her arms to make limbs appear on them to redirect them to the ground, knocking the goons unconscious before dispelling them. Nami reached out to grab the spinning piece before putting it back like the staff before. Yang finished off the last of them simply by bashing their heads together. She turned around and saw that Nami and Robin took care their half.
"Wow now that's awesome." Yang complimented as she strutted towards them. "I believe you haven't introduced yourselves yet."
"Well I suppose that's appropriate since you've helped out." Robot said. "My name is Nico Robin and my friend here is Nami."
"Pleasure to meet you, Yang was it." Nami said as the blonde nodded in response. "Thanks for helping us out."
"No prob, I'm a huntress it's what I do." said Yang. 'Huh is it just me or do their names sound familiar?'
"Oh right, scuse us for a sec we have to check on Mocha and Chip to see if they're okay!" said Nami.
"Oh don't worry they're in good hands..."
They all turned around and saw the two dog faunus inquestion being held at gun point by the leader who somehow managed to escape Robin's arm bindings.
"How could I've been so careless!" Robin said calmly despite the situation.
"Hey! Let'em go!" Yang said as she made attempt to rush but Nami stopped her immediately.
"It's no use Yang he's got them." Nami bitterly said. They've watched as the leader slowly backed away with Mocha and Chip.
"Well we've got to do something!" Yang said getting ready to carefully aim at the guys face.
"Don't even tr-Ah!" The guy was cut off mid sentence as a glyph appeared below him and encase most of his body ice which caused him to drop the pistols. Due to how much shock the cold inflicted on his body, he fell unconscious. As Mocha and Chip turned around to see what happened to their would be captive, Chip kicked the frozen thug lightly since he didn't want to hurt his foot that much.
"You're lucky that I just happen to be walking by this street." said a White haired girl with a side pony tail as she sheathed her rapier.
"And just in the nick of time to Weiss." said Yang. "You've just missed all the action that happened here several moments ago."
"Oh gee." Weiss said sarcastically.
"Thank you." Mocha said. "All of you, I'm really greatful for helping us out."
"The pleasures all ours." said Weiss with a kind smile.
"Never expected to be saved by a Schnee that's for sure." Mocha said awkwardly. "Well me and my lil bro got to get going now."
"Wait before we go can we get a picture!" Chip said to his sister. His sister sighed and everyone around got into a group photo in her scroll. On the condition that they'll never show it to anyone but themselves.
"Hey come back any time to the cafe and we'll treat you something on the house." Mocha said.
"Wow thanks!" said Nami.
As the faunus left Weiss turned to the two women present. "Your Nami and Robin aren't you." She said accusingly.
This took Nami by surprise. "Um yes..."
"Figured as much." Weiss said. You're part of that rubber dolt's crew aren't you?"
"You mean Luffy?!" Nami said in surprise.
"Wait so you are Nami and Robin! I knew your names sounded familiar!" Yang blurted out.
"So you know who we are and know where our captain is, correct?" Robin asked with her brows raised.
"Hell Yeah We Do!" said Yang grinning with her hands on hips. "We can take you back to the academy so we can meet up with them."
"Well ain't that convenient!" said Nami.
"We better leave before the police gets here," said Weiss. "While I could tell them what happened here, I don't want my father to find out and chastise me for helping Faunus."
"Wow Ice Queen didn't think you had it in you." Yang smirked.
"Don't call me that, quiet Yang." Weiss grunted in annoyance.
"And that's it." Nami said. "After that we went to pick up Yang's bike, which surprisingly sounded like my waver. And then we've flown an airship to here."
"Amazing!" Luffy, Usopp, Chopper said in awe.
"Leave it to Nami~Swan to be so virtuous!" Sanji swooned. "Of course you too Robin~Chwan, Weiss, and Yang!"
"Great." Zoro said sarcastically while rolling his eyes.
"Don't think I forgotten about your debt Zoro." said Nami while Zoro growled in annoyance.
"You have a debt to her?" said Yang as she smirked.
"I don't want to talk about it!" Zoro muttered.
"Hey Nami can I see that staff of yours?!" Ruby asked eagerly.
"Well I suppose if you give me some Lien." Nami smirked as she saw Ruby pout. "Of course I might make an exception since your adorable."
"Yay!" said Ruby as the navigator gave her the three pieced staff for her to inspect while Weiss placed a hand on her forehead in irritation at her partners actions.
"You know I was the one who built that for her." said Usopp with pride, jabbing his thumb at himself.
"Really! You have to tell me the details!" Ruby squealed.
"Oh yeah by the way Luffy." said Nami
"Yeah Nami?" Luffy asked before getting a fist in the face, sending him flying a couple feet.
"That's for doing something stupid even though we told you not too!" the navigator said in an annoyed voice.
End Chapter
I am alive. I could've added more to this chapter but I don't know what to add but I think it's good to end it here. You maybe thinking "Was it necessary for Nami to punch Luffy in the face?" well technically if you were some how dragged into a world unwillingly by someone doing something idiotic, then yes.
I have to also make it clear to some people who are new to this story is that yes these are Pre-Time skip characters I'm using from One Piece.

Chapter 3
Gundam: Well when I first wrote this fanfic Ozpin seemed so mysterious and wise. Then Volume 4 happened making me think that Ozpin had once seen a person came from another world in his past lives. As for your concern about other One Piece characters joining this fic I sort of agree, I'll try to keep the number of characters to a minimum and keep focus on the main ones but there are characters I need to make a brief cameo.
I respect your opinion.
