I really, really dont like this character. Thats why I wrote this. To attempt to make myself like her (fat chance of that happening...)
What Doesn't Kill You...
Yes, Leomon was dead. And yes, it reminded her of her mother's death.
But as Juri stared ahead of her at Takato, who enveloped in rage for her, made poor little Guilmon evolve into something that he should have (all for what? her sake?)... it made her angry. What if they lost Guilmon too? Another death wouldn't bring back Leomon. It would only make her feel more terrible.
"Kato... let's go..." one of the guys tried to grab her hand but she freed herself and walked over to Takato on shaky but determinated legs, the tears in her eyes drying as she did. Leomon's death wouldn't be for nothing. She would use that moment to become stronger, not luggage that they would have to go about to save. It was time to be Kato Juri, Takato's friend and Leomon's human partner.
"Takato." she grabbed his shoulder as Megidramon roared, his tail aiming at them as Beelzebubmon laughed like a lunatic. She didn't care. She had to shake him out of his stupor. Like she knew that he would have done for her as well. "Wake up. I'm not worth this..." the tail steadily got closer, almost like in slow motion, as Juri reached out with her arms and hugged him. "Takato! Please!"
Time froze. The huge dramon's tail stopped right beside them as he yelled in anguish again, before de-evolving back into Guilmon. The enemy wasn't beaten but he looked like he had been through hell. Juri, with her arms still around the brunette now sobbing into her shoulder, reached out for the now seemingly small red dragon's claw.
They would go through this together. Because what didn't kill her, only made her stronger.
Did I manage?
Thanks for reading my drabble! ^^
