Once again I don't own anything from TVD or TO
Bonnie wasn't sure how it happened, but somehow, she found herself perched on a metal bar stool watching Kol Mikaelson cook. She had attempted to leave the mansion but was halted at the door by Kol's incessant complaining on how, "It was wrong to let a lady leave on an empty stomach." So she complied, and that was how she came to realize that despite his immaturity, the youngest Mikaelson could in fact cook. What a surprise.
"I'll be making the best pancakes you've ever tasted, so watch and learn witch." he had announced.
Bonnie rolled her eyes and decided to correct his usage of calling her "witch" another day. Who knows, he could try and keep her here longer.
Kol shot around the kitchen like a madman, mixing batter with one hand while balancing the bowl on his hip and oiling the pan with the other. It was truly a sight to watch and Bonnie was surprised he hadn't dropped the bowl entirely. After a few minutes of the vampire dashing around, a heavenly aroma filled the kitchen and Bonnie's stomach growled. She quickly tried covering it with her hands but to no avail.
"Looks like somebody's hungry." Kol teased.
"Oh shush." Bonnie sighed and shot him a scowl. "It's not my fault I haven't even in almost a day."
Kol tsked loudly, "Your own doing."
He grabbed a clean plate and gently placed two perfectly round and, steaming pancakes on her plate. Bonnie looked up him and couldn't help but smile at how excited he looked. His brown eyes appeared as if they were dancing. Is he always like this around girls?
"Thank you." She said quietly, not really sure on how to approach him. The witch was still trying to figure out the sudden niceness in him. Oh well, she'd cross that bridge later. For right now, she would indulge Kol and eat his food.
She tentatively cut a piece with her fork and tasted it. Kol eyed her with an unblinking stare and smug grin.
"Well? Isn't this the part where you feed my ego and tell me what an amazing cook I am?" He said all while inching closer to her.
Bonnie leaned back as far as she could and rolled her eyes, "Yes Kol. You surprise me still."
"Yes!" Kol fist pumped. "It's a miracle what good food can accomplish."
An hour later, Bonnie finally exited the Mikaelson mansion. Kol had let her leave only after she ate the food and exchanged phone numbers. "Just in case, as we always seem to be saving each other." He said.
It had been a long day and all she wanted was to go home and escape from all the drama. No thoughts of the cure or of her so called "friends." Their betrayal cut deep. Just thinking about it sent a pang of sadness through her.
"Well, well, well. Look who we have here." A voice said haughtily.
Bonnie glanced up to face Klaus. "I'm just trying to leave." She all but snarled.
He lifted his hands defensively. "Have at it."
She got as far as the end of their massive driveway before hearing him call back.
"Caroline is waiting for you at your place, just thought you should know."
Bonnie said nothing and turned back around. What had Caroline gotten herself into?
7 hours earlier…
Caroline opened her eyes slowly, her eyesight focusing on the bright pink wallpaper of her room. It took her a moment to realize where she was, and what had happened in the last 24 hours.
"Klaus…?" She called out, not really sure where the hybrid was. The house was in total silence and the vampire sighed. It looked like Klaus had left after all. Caroline rolled out of bed, shrugging off her jacket from yesterday's clothes. She needed a hot shower, and probably a good nap later. Being attacked by her hybrid boyfriend was definitely not something Caroline wanted to remember. Stepping into the shower, she threw off her old clothes and stood under the shearing water. However, Caroline only managed to shut her eyes in peace for a few seconds before she heard the front door close. Her first thought was Silas, and that he had come to kill her. Oh boy…
Caroline wrapped a towel around herself and cautiously crept out into the hallway. If it was Silas, she wasn't going down without a fight, even if the monster could read her mind. She knew the rumors, and that he was supposedly not someone you wanted to wake. Shoutout to her friends for awakening him.
"Ugh this had better be Klaus." She mumbled as she clung to the towel. As she tiptoed down the stairs, Caroline peered over the banister and collided with someone. Letting out a yelp, she aimed a kick at anything in front of her and earned a quick "Ow ow Caroline stop that! It's Klaus!"
She gasped and immediately drew back, "Oh my god Klaus I am so sorry. I thought you were Silas and I was freaking out and so I-"
"Caroline please." Klaus interrupted, raising a hand in front of her. "Silas is not around, in fact I've been here the entire night ever since your so called boyfriend attacked you and left you to die."
Caroline bit her lip, somehow he made it sound way worse than what it really was.
"Okay I get it, you don't have to say anything more." She sighed to herself.
It was then that Klaus' attention was drawn to the fact that Caroline Forbes only wore a thin towel-and nothing else. His eyes scanned her body and his lips turned into a lopsided smirk. Caroline instinctively crossed her arms, "Really Klaus? Eyes up here."
He laughed despite himself and she found herself fighting the urge to smile. He was just so damn sexy, and since when does Klaus laugh? She needed to snap out of it.
With a snort, Caroline turned and headed back upstairs into the bathroom. She needed a shower now more than ever.
"You're welcome to stay if you'd like!" She shouted from upstairs.
Klaus smiled. "Whatever you say love."
"Please tell me you didn't do anything with him. I don't care if he helped you with Tyler." Bonnie sighed and placed a finger over her temple. She could feel the headache looming.
"What? No! That's absurd Bonnie. He's supposed to be the bad guy!" Caroline raised her arms defensively. "And what about you, huh? Let's not forget that Kol freaking Mikaelson went all the way over to the island just to save you and bring you back. Oh, and he made you breakfast."
Caroline leaned against the counter, her face daring Bonnie for an explanation.
"I don't know Care. I saved him from being stabbed with the white oak steak, so I'm guessing he just felt compelled to save me. Maybe it was an ego thing…" She trailed off.
"Oh please," Caroline scoffed, "He so wants to get in your pants. Admit it, he's got the hots for you. Kol doesn't have a single decent bone in his body. He tried to kill you once, remember?"
Bonnie sighed again and buried her head in her hands. She knew Caroline had a point, but Kol just wanting to hook up seemed so odd.
Why risk all the trouble for a one night stand? It just didn't add up. She knew there would be consequences for saving him but his demeanor towards her seemed strange.
"It doesn't matter now Care, I don't plan on seeing him again. It was just business."
Caroline laughed, "Yeah Bonnie we'll see about that. And please don't bring up Klaus, especially with Elena and her boyfriends coming back today. I still have to deal with Tyler...".
Bonnie stiffened, "They come back today? And I thought it couldn't get any worse."
"Relax, you don't have to be here when they return. I'll handle it. Now please come get some coffee with me, I'm dying for a wake up after that long night."
