Yeah so...here's a new chapter! Not much else to say, just...still alive I be. The names come from the wonderful Akiruo, they gave me these names that fit my strict RWBY naming requirements, so all thanks to them for that!
Hidden within a dark room in the massive Schnee mansion, five individuals plotted out a daring revolution, ready to claim what they felt was always their royal right.
Their leader stood tall, proudly proclaiming to those assembled. "For too long, we've suffered under their cruel and capricious rule! For too long, we have been forced into horrible, life-altering decisions! But that ends today! Today, with our new chariot of war, we will bring them down and take back control over our lives! Heh...heh...mwahahahaha!" the maniacal laughter echoed through the dark room they hid in.
One rolled her eyes. "There she goes again. Why did she take after her mother?"
"Because otherwise she'd have taken after her other mom?" a third voice chimed in, his eyes seeming to glow in the darkness. All assembled took a brief moment to contemplate that and realized this situation was, if not good, at least preferable to the alternative as their fearless leader kept cackling madly.
"..won't we get in trouble?" A small voice said quietly, wrapping her arms tightly around the large, warm creature laying next to her and squeezing tightly.
"Nah, we'll be fine! It'll be a great time and we'll win for sure!" The fifth voice cheered. A deep yip came from the dark creature standing beside him, it shuffling in place and pressing up against the owner of the fifth voice.
The laughter faded away as the leader coughed slightly. Taking a few deep breaths, she stood up straight. "Alright troops, let's hitch up the chariot and don our armor! It's time to take the fight to the enemy!"
Weiss took another sip of tea, sighing as she relaxed further into the couch. Expensive furniture she had custom built by Sandy had one major benefit, and that was sitting next to her. She casually looked over the papers sitting in her lap, taking another sip as she felt a small nudge on her shoulder. Glancing over, she smirked to herself as she watched Ruby bounce around on her cushion, tongue sticking out as she concentrated on mashing buttons on her controller as fast as she could (without breaking it). Weiss was very happy the couch she'd purchased absorbed vibration as well as it did, not a single one of Ruby's bounces transferred over to her side of the couch, yet she still was right next to her wife.
However, something felt amiss. She narrowed her eyes as it came to her, realizing that the mansion was far, far too quiet, even with half the hunters out on varying missions and tasks. Weiss set her cup down gently on the table before her, turning to Ruby. "Ruby?"
Ruby jolted for a moment, losing track of where she was before quickly resetting herself and focusing back on her game. Giving Weiss a brief glance, she responded. "'Sup?"
"Have you seen the children?" Weiss asked.
Ruby blinked in confusion for a moment, as she wracked her brain. "Huh...not for a few hours." She paused her game and set her controller down slowly, turning to Weiss with wide eyes. "That's...not good, is it?"
Weiss slowly shook her head no, opening her mouth to speak, when a loud crash came from the floor below. Weiss rolled her eyes as she heard shouting voices and another crash, sighing deeply. Ruby saluted Weiss with a quick grin, kissing her on the cheek as she grabbed Weiss up in her arms. Weiss, well used to this, wrapped her arms around Ruby's neck as the world blurred around her, red filling her vision as Ruby ran down the stairs. She was shaken out of her thoughts at the abrupt stop at the top of the stairs, Ruby's eyes wide and mouth dropped open.
Weiss arched an eyebrow, following Ruby's eyesight, her previous good mood disappearing as she saw what was below her. Ruby gently set her down, Weiss' fists clenched at her sides as she stood tall, glaring down into the foyer. She took a deep breath as Ruby quickly covered her ears.
"See? I told you this would work!" Alva shouted, her short white hair flying in the wind as she cackled again. She gripped the reins of the cobbled together metal chariot tightly, cheering the connected Drei and Suzie as they bolted through the foyer.
Saphron, her cat ears flat on her head, squeezed her nails into the side of the vehicle, refused to speak as Amber snarled next to her, his sharp teeth bared, his eyes tinting red. Esme squealed, ducking her head down so the only thing visible was her orange hair. Xanthus giggled, eyes wide as he cheered Alva on. "Yeah, let's go faster! C'mon Drei, Suzie, faster!"
"We're coming up on the kitchen! Prepare the catapults!" Alva shouted.
"I told you we're not calling it that!" Amber snarled, his eyes narrowed. Saphron sighed and clambered up onto the edge of the chariot, a rope tied to her waist. Amber wrapped the rope around his hands, Xanthus quickly tying the end around his waist and moving to the other side of the chariot. Esme gripped onto Saphron's hips, biting her lip nervously as the assembled children crashed through the swinging doorway into the kitchen.
Wheels skidding on the linoleum, Alva pulled the reins to the side. "Now!" she shouted, Esme quickly shoving Saphron with all her strength to assist Saphron's leap. The young black haired child flew across the room, landing on the counter and dashing as fast as she could to the fridge. She hopped up, giving her just enough room to grip the edge and pulled herself up quickly. Grabbing the large ceramic jar on top, she leapt off of the fridge as the chariot careened by.
Xanthus planted his feet and gripped the rope with one hand as his other held onto the edge of the chariot. Amber started reeling in the rope as fast as he could, Alva turning the chariot so its side faced where Saphron was jumping. Esme lifted her arms up to catch Saphron, letting out a grunt as she caught her, now burdened with the ceramic jar.
Alva cheered. "Woohoo! We did it! Now, to the final step of the plan-"
"Alva Rose-Schnee!" A single voice thundered into the air, making all of the children's eyes go wide with fear. Drei and Suzie immediately skidded to a stop, the cobbled together metal chariot slamming into their backs without a twitch from the two massive animals. The children went sprawling inside of it, Drei's tongue hanging out as he panted happily. Suzie dropped to the floor, flopping her massive head onto her paws and falling asleep without a care in the world.
Alva winced as she clambered to her feet. "Oops?"
Weiss came storming down the stairs, every footstep a stomp that probably would have cracked the marble if they hadn't had it specially reinforced. Ruby followed a step behind, trying to school her expression into a stern one, but the sheer amazement on her face somewhat hurting her attempts.
Weiss halted before the chariot, hands on her hips as she stared down at her recalcitrant daughter. "Alva...what the hell are you doing?!"
Alva quickly looked away and down, poking her fingers together as she scrunched her shoulders down. In a small voice, she replied "We just wanted some cookies…"
"That is no excuse to run around wrecking half of the house with some random mechanical contraption you built...out of scrap? How did you get in the scrap pile again?!"
Alva shrunk down further and pouted, her silvery eyes wide. "But...mom, I was bored! And mommy always lets me play in the scrap pile!"
Weiss eyebrow twitched. With a slight hitch in her voice, she turned and glared at Ruby. "She is your daughter, that's for sure."
Ruby scoffed. "She's always my daughter when she gets in trouble." Ruby ended her sentence with a sniff as she crossed her arms over her chest.
"That's because she takes after you!" Weiss said, poking one finger into Ruby's chest.
"Ehem, really? Explain the hair color and her megalomaniacal laugh!" Ruby replied, gesturing at her daughter.
"You're still on about that? I do not have a megalomaniac laugh! Besides that, she has your eyes!"
"Oh here we go with the eye thing again, she took after you in every other department, why can't she have my eyes?"
"Every other department? She likes scythes better than rapiers! That's entirely your gene pool!"
As Weiss and Ruby kept bickering, Alva dropped the pout and smirked. Plopping down onto the floor, she opened up the ceramic jar silently, casually taking out a cookie and began nibbling at it as she watched her parents poke at each other.
"How in the world did you do that?" Amber whispered, eyes on the two arguing adults.
"Mom can't handle it when mommy pouts. She acts angry but can't stay mad at her. I figured I could do it too. Mom has a weakness for cute things. You shoulda seen her at the pet store, she flipped out with the kittens. Mommy had to practically drag her out of there when they were closing." Alva replied in a matter of fact tone. "Cookie?" she offered the ceramic jar to her partner-in-crime.
Amber blinked, sighing and sitting next to her, grabbing a cookie out of the jar. The other three assembled took seats as well, munching on the cookies as they watched the match go back and forth between the couple.
"I don't know why you keep insisting she's my daughter! She got pushed outta your vagina!" Ruby snapped at Weiss, eyes narrowed.
"Is there a problem with my vagina, oh wife of mine?" Weiss snapped back, stepping up into Ruby's space.
"Um, Alva? I don't think we're supposed to be hearing this part," Esme said nervously, wringing her hands. Alva snickered, placing the now empty cookie jar down.
"Yep, now's about the time to make our escape. They are about to start flirting any minute. C'mon, come closer, I'll do the thing."
Xanthus shuffled in place, a wide smile on his face. "Woohoo, I love this! C'mon, let's go let's go!"
Alva rolled her eyes, smacking Xanthus on the back of the head. As the other four children gathered around her, Alva concentrated, her tongue sticking out slightly. A noise not unlike a bell sounded as a spinning red glyph appeared beneath her and the others. The two adults paused as they noticed the noise, both turning to glance at their wayward daughter as she gave a cheeky wave before the glyph flared red, the five children instantly disappearing.
Weiss threw her hands up in the air. "Oh wonderful, they escaped!" She placed both hands over her face and dragged them down, letting out a deep sigh.
"She can't have gone far, Weiss. She's pretty much limited to the mansion. I'll go look for them, take five minutes tops," Ruby reassured her frustrated wife, her good humor returned as soon as they'd stopped bickering. She'd never tell Weiss this, but she loved snarking back and forth with her, trading barbed wit, not unlike when they sparred with each other. As Ruby turned to go, Weiss reached out and snagged her by the collar, stopping her in place.
Weiss yanked Ruby close until their noses were touching and spoke in a quiet voice. "You owe me an apology, Ruby."
Ruby arched an eyebrow. "You or your vagina?"
Weiss smirked back at her wife. "Yes." Ruby snorted but kept her mouth shut as Weiss continued. "After you have captured her and her compatriots and suitably punished them, return to the bedroom. You have a lot of apologizing to do."
Ruby giggled. "As you wish." With a quick peck on her lips, Ruby disappeared in a flurry of petals. Weiss took a deep breath of the now rose-scented air, smiling softly as she walked up the stairs.
