Chapter Eleven: Time to Make Amends

The moment they stepped into Weiss' bedroom, Ruby was pinned to the wall by a kiss and a slender body pressing into her. It happened so fast Ruby didn't get a chance to gain her bearings before Weiss nudged her knees apart. Ruby couldn't stop the gasp that unconsciously slipped out when she felt a thigh grind against her groin. The momentary lapse gave Weiss the perfect opportunity to dive in and deepen the kiss, sneakily slipping her tongue past Ruby's parted lips. She breathed in deep and gingerly cupped Ruby's face, guiding her down carefully to match her. An appreciative moan reached Ruby's ears when she followed Weiss' subtle command.

"Good girl," Weiss whispered encouragingly.

Kissing Weiss was more than just a teaser trailer for what they were going to do next, it was a learning experience and Weiss was more than eager to teach her. She didn't say or do anything to bring up Ruby's inexperience, she just hummed in delight and coaxed her to keep going and to keep exploring.

Ruby couldn't help but smile at the gentle direction she was being given, it was clear to her that Weiss was in this as deep as she was.

Emboldened by Weiss' forwardness, Ruby casually slipped her arms around Weiss' waist. She was so slim Ruby was scared she'd snap Weiss in half if she hugged her any tighter but that was silly. She'd already seen Weiss naked, she knew her girlfriend was no where near as delicate as she seemed.

"Weiss…"

"Hm?" Weiss hummed as she reclaimed Ruby's lips, putting a swift stop to whatever Ruby wanted to say.

Weiss was an amazing kisser, Ruby already knew this, but it was good to get a reminder. Their first kiss at the restaurant wasn't anything like this though. And if Ruby was going to be completely honest, it was more like she'd been blindsided by an expensive white sports car than kissed by an angel, but that's beside the point. The only similarity between then and now was how extremely confident Weiss was with her technique. She knew exactly what she wanted and Ruby was more than happy to be there for the ride.

It was getting harder to keep her heart from beating out of her chest—nearly impossible when Weiss traced a light pattern up her arm and squeezed her bicep. Ruby swallowed hard, the tip of her tongue grazing Weiss' as she tried to quench her parched throat. Weiss hummed with pleasure and quickly chased after the source, grinding her body against Ruby's to try and coax it back. Ruby tried to play it coy, but Weiss' searching tongue was far more persuasive than Ruby first anticipated; she was impossible to deny.

Weiss hounded her down mercilessly, using several of her finest tricks to quell Ruby's disobedience. "Don't tease," she growled, biting down on Ruby's bottom lip.

"You're one to talk," Ruby argued back.

The steadily growing heat between Ruby's legs was starting to bother her, like a terrible itch that couldn't be scratched. She tried to find a way to relieve it, but all she had to work with was the thigh squeezed in between hers. A pitiful whine escaped Ruby's lips as she rubbed herself against it but the friction was lacking, too slick and smooth to sate even a fraction of her desire. A simple green salad with no dressing interrupted her train of thought—crisp lettuce, juicy tomatoes, and grated parmesan—Ruby scrunched her face and made a slight noise of displeasure. Weiss took it as a sign and redoubled her efforts.

The newly invigorated kiss was amazing. It threatened to steal Ruby's breath away and if that didn't do it, then the lust in Weiss' beautiful Alice blue eyes when they broke for air sure did.

"Ruby?" Weiss' husky voice called out.

Ruby slowly blinked herself back into reality, but her thoughts were hazy and disjointed. Though one thought stood out amidst the twittering in her head and that was her lips were tingling. She ran her tongue over her swollen bottom lip and bit it unconsciously. It stung but in a good way.

Was it possible to grow addicted to a kiss?

"Ruby?" Weiss called again as she brushed Ruby's hair to the side.

A quiet hum and a lazy blink was all Ruby's lust addled mind could manage. Weiss rolled her eyes but smiled, pleased by the positive effect she had on Ruby.

"Is this okay?" she quietly asked, the tips of her manicured fingers slipping under the hem of Ruby's shirt. "Can I touch you?"

"I don't know," Ruby said, her breath hitching when Weiss' skin grazed hers, "can you?"

"Of course I can," Weiss grinned.

Electricity jumped throughout Ruby's body when Weiss finally—finally—touched her skin, drawing out a long, shuddering gasp that matched her stuttering heart. Weiss' touch was so light and careful, like a butterfly finding a temporary perch, that Ruby didn't get a chance to enjoy it before it was gone.

"Weiss…" Ruby whined, shifting uncomfortably in place. She gnawed on her bottom lip, eyes clamped shut as she tried to recall the fleeting warmth that set her skin on fire.

Weiss' eyes narrowed with impetuous glee, her cherry red lips tugging smugly to the left. She leaned in till their faces were only a few inches apart. "I can stop, just say the word," she said, fully intending to follow through if the answer was no.

Ruby swallowed hard. Weiss was looking at her like she was the first meal she'd seen after weeks of starvation. The idea of Weiss' pearly white teeth sinking into her skin made Ruby tremble, her heartbeat quickening to a noisy staccato in her chest. Why did that turn her on so much?

Weiss was waiting patiently for her response, her scarred eyebrow rising a tick.

"Don't stop," Ruby rasped, pressing her stomach into Weiss' hand. "Don't you dare stop."

"Ruby…"

Hearing Weiss whisper her name with such reverence made Ruby whimper. Weiss sounded absolutely heavenly. Dreams didn't do the gentle timbre of her lover's voice any justice, if anything they fell flat in comparison.

Weiss' hand inched further up, her fingers dipping and climbing to match the subtle contours of Ruby's abs. A delighted hum escaped the older woman's lips as she felt the taut muscles contracting under her touch. Ruby continued to mewl, her hands glued to the wall, too afraid to reach out and touch in case she snapped Weiss out of whatever mood she was in. But what she wouldn't give to take her dream girl by the arms, reverse their positions, and make it so Weiss was the one at her mercy. She wanted to hear Weiss call out her name in that sexy breathy tone again, the one just before she came—that one. Ruby's legs trembled beneath her. If it wasn't for Weiss holding her up, Ruby was sure she'd be a useless, blushing puddle on the ground.

Half a minute passed and Ruby still refused to relinquish the wall. Weiss seemed to pick up on Ruby's hesitance, however, and pulled back. She took Ruby by the hands and guided them to the top button of her expensive white blouse.

"Go ahead," she said, puffing her chest out so Ruby had better access. She let go of Ruby's hands and looped her arms around Ruby's neck, watching with silent amusement as Ruby gulped and undid the first button. After a few failed tries, Weiss rolled her eyes and offered a hand.

"N-No, I got this," Ruby argued stubbornly.

Weiss gave her a look. "Do you really?"

"Of course I do!"

A low chuckle rumbled through Weiss' chest as Ruby quickly made short work of the rest of the buttons. "Someone's eager," Weiss teased when the last button finally gave way and revealed her lacy black bra.

"Of cou—" Ruby's jaw instantly dropped.

"I take it you like?" Weiss asked, her eyebrow cocked. Ruby weakly nodded. "Good.

Gulping, Ruby carefully slipped her hands under the blouse and carefully cupped Weiss' breasts. She thumbed the delicate material and traced over the thin red lace lining, amazed by the high-quality thread and the milky skin peeking through. Weiss hummed happily at the gentle touch and offered Ruby more of herself in exchange.

Ruby leaned in and kissed Weiss' neck, relishing the warmth and the sweet floral perfume Weiss wore. She missed this. She missed Weiss. And the feeling must've been mutual because Weiss pressed a feather light kiss to her temple. They stayed in that position for a moment, exchanging soft kisses and sighs whenever they were given.

"Haha, quit that," Weiss giggled when Ruby tickled her with her nose. She ran her hand through Ruby's hair, her perfectly manicured fingers scratching just the right spot. "Ruby…"

"Hmm," Ruby hummed, burying her face deeper into the crook of Weiss' neck.

"H-Hey, I said stop that!" Weiss stressed, but the subtle tremble in her voice begged to differ.

Ruby responded to the weak complaint by sucking on the spot she'd been kissing. Weiss let out a low guttural moan from deep within her chest, her fingers digging into Ruby's scalp as she grabbed a fistful of hair. Ruby bit back her own little moan and nipped at the freshly made bruise with her teeth before licking it with the broad side of her tongue; Weiss was practically putty in her hands by the third stroke. An impish smile tugged at Ruby's lips when she pulled back and saw the deep red blotch blooming on Weiss' skin. She blew on it a little to help soothe and dry it, but Ruby would be lying if she didn't say she did it just to see Weiss shiver.

"Beautiful," Ruby whispered.

"You left a mark, didn't you?" Weiss growled, still out of breath. Her eyes were narrowed dangerously at Ruby, but the ice behind them didn't burn. Weiss didn't have any fight left in her. "Ruby, I swear—"

Ruby smiled at Weiss innocently and gave the breasts still in her palms a light squeeze. "I don't know what you're talking about, Ms. Schnee."

"Oh you are so dead, Ruby Rose!" Weiss screeched half-heartedly. She was still struggling to regain full control of her body, a fact Ruby was incredibly flattered by. "By the time I'm done with you, you'll be getting more than just a la petite mort."

"I don't know what that is but give me ten," Ruby said, taken aback by the foreign sounding words.

Weiss grinned. "That can be arranged."

Ruby beamed at Weiss and shrugged off the arms circling her neck. Weiss let her arms fall to her side without a fight, curious to see what Ruby was up to next.

"I know I've seen them before, but I'm still blown away," Ruby said, dropping her gaze as her wandering hands followed Weiss' bra straps up like a road. When she reached the top, Ruby pushed the blouse off of Weiss shoulders and watched with rapt attention as it slid off effortlessly. "Wow."

Weiss let her shirt hit the floor before moving, perfectly content to keep Ruby's eyes on her body. She stretched her arms high above her head and raked her fingers through her hair, fanning it out.

"Still like what you see?" she asked, taking a deep breath to puff out her chest.

"Definitely," Ruby replied, wrapping her arms around Weiss' waist. "You're so beautiful, Weiss."

"Flattery will get you nowhere fast, but I like what I'm hearing," Weiss said with a teasing smile. She pulled Ruby in for a kiss but stopped when they were inches apart.

Ruby impatiently whimpered at the cheap ploy and tried to meet Weiss the rest of the way, but the little minx tilted her head out of reach.

"Weiss…" Ruby glowered with a pout.

"Ah, ah," Weiss tutted. "Someone's getting impatient."

"You're a tease."

"And you didn't contact me after I explicitly told you to, so call this… revenge."

"Hey, we're going to talk about that, okay?" Ruby said trying and failing to get a kiss yet again.

"Oh, we definitely will," Weiss said, expertly dodging kisses left and right. "Now shut up and kiss me like you missed me, Red."

Ruby surged forward and claimed Weiss' lips, holding her as close as possible so Weiss couldn't escape. Weiss buried a hand in Ruby's hair and tugged at it just the way Ruby liked while the other grazed the underside of her jaw. The subtle touches mixed in with the hair pulling kicked Ruby's senses into high gear. She'd already been on the verge of coming undone before this, but now she was on the edge, a stroke or two away.

They broke for air and Weiss' name was the first thing on Ruby's tongue. Her pleading voice must've done something for Weiss because a hand was tugging impatiently on Ruby's belt.

"I want this off," Weiss commanded before she reinitiated the kiss, sucking hard on the bottom lip caught helplessly between hers.

Ruby reluctantly pulled her right hand from its spot on Weiss' hip to help, but before she could get to the buckle, Weiss swatted her away. Ruby broke the kiss and looked at Weiss questioningly, wondering why she was fighting her now.

"Screw it," Weiss growled. "Follow me."

She grabbed Ruby by the belt and led her to the bed like a hapless dog on a leash. Ruby followed her blindly without question, eager to get Weiss out of the rest of her clothes.

"Sit," Weiss ordered.

Ruby immediately sat down on the plush bed, her eyes shining as she looked up at Weiss, waiting for further instruction. Weiss smiled down at Ruby and stroked her hair, playing with a few locks that caught the late afternoon light. Ruby gulped in anticipation. The soft petting was something Weiss did their first time around to help her get comfortable and now she was doing it again.

"Mm, I really like it when you do that," Ruby said, stretching her neck to better fit Weiss' touch.

"Hm?" Weiss blinked, her hand stopping midstroke. She looked at it curiously and said with a bit of wonder, "I didn't even notice I was doing that."

"Well don't stop," Ruby chuckled, taking Weiss' hand into hers and kissing the palm softly. She closed her eyes and brought it to her cheek. "I really missed you," she said letting her lips brush against Weiss' skin. "I should have called you sooner."

Weiss smiled and shook her head, stroking Ruby's cheek with her hand. "I know I've hassled you about it, but I'm actually rather glad you took so long to be honest."

"Why?" Ruby asked, opening her eyes.

"Because I was close to making a rather rash decision," Weiss confessed, her hand retreating back to her side. She looked away in quiet penance, her darkened eyes hidden behind ivory bangs. "Anyway, I have yet to apologize to you."

Ruby tilted her head curiously. "What for?"

"For my poor behaviour during our date," Weiss answered softly. "I yelled at you when I should have been making sure you were alright, and then I made it all worse by storming off only to come back moments later to kiss you… there was also the," Weiss blushed, "sex. I didn't intend to go that far with you so soon, but I was frustrated and you were there, eager and willing—but, oh, please don't get me wrong! I don't regret sleeping with you."

"Good," Ruby frowned, her brows creasing together. "I'd probably punch you if you did."

Weiss gave Ruby a tight smile and gestured to the empty spot to Ruby's left. "May I?"

"It's your bed."

"R-Right…" Weiss smoothed her skirt out before she sat down which looked a little odd because she wasn't wearing a shirt.

"So…" Ruby looked off to the side, noticing a grey piece of lint on the pristine white sheets.

Weiss awkwardly nodded her head, the silence weighing down on her as she bent down to unclasp her sandals. "I've been dying to take those off all day," she said with a sigh of relief, putting her shoes off to the side where they wouldn't get in the way later.

"You shouldn't wear such high heels then."

"But they make my butt look amazing," Weiss said trying to go for the humour route, but Ruby's flat stare told her she'd failed. So with a heavy sigh, Weiss put her jokes aside and said, "I have to be perfectly honest with you, Ruby… I have no idea what I'm doing."

"Haha, you definitely knew what you were doing a moment ago," Ruby teased in response, lightening up by nudging Weiss with her shoulder.

Weiss nudged her back and shook her head. "You were good for your first time, you can't blame me for wanting you again."

"Flattery will get you nowhere fast, but I like what I'm hearing," Ruby said, parroting Weiss' earlier remark with astonishing accuracy.

"And you called me the jerk," Weiss chuckled.

"You kind of are sometimes."

Nodding in agreement, Weiss took Ruby's hand and held it over her lap. "Ruby, I was serious when I said I don't know what I was doing."

"Huh?" Ruby blinked. "We're going back to that again?"

"Yes, because while I technically have 'experience,' I'm still a complete novice when it comes to dating," Weiss explained.

"What does that mean?" Ruby asked.

Weiss gave Ruby a weak, lopsided smile. "It means you're the first person I've ever chosen for myself."

"Huh?" Ruby turned to face Weiss. "But weren't you married?"

"Yes."

"Then you've dated," Ruby stressed, glowering at Weiss.

"Can it really be called 'dating' if you're contractually betrothed?" Weiss shot back in challenge.

Ruby's glower softened immensely when the weight of Weiss' words hit her. "It was an arranged marriage… you didn't have a choice."

"And neither did Coco," Weiss added. "Funnily enough, she was dating someone when they announced our engagement… her boyfriend did not take it well."

Ruby winced. "How did he react?"

"Not well," Weiss deadpanned.

"Right…"

"So because of him, Coco ignored me for about a week, but she was still my best friend so we eventually worked things out and came to an agreement," Weiss continued, slipping her hand into Ruby's. She intertwined their fingers and smiled. "It's nice having someone I can hold like this again."

Ruby gave Weiss' hand a little squeeze. "Do you miss being with her?"

"Yes and no," Weiss answered with downcast eyes.

A million and one questions raced around in Ruby's head, blurring the lines between acceptable and downright tasteless.

"Coco was an easy out for me."

That certainly got Ruby's attention.

"If it wasn't her," Weiss swallowed, "it would've been someone else."

"That doesn't really answer my question," Ruby said, trying to look Weiss in the eye. "Just be honest with me, I won't hold anything against you."

"No, I don't. I don't miss being married to her… I miss being with her, but only because I spent most of my life with her. She was all I knew, and all I wanted in life really... I gave her everything, but that still wasn't enough."

"Weiss…"

Scared blue eyes bore into Ruby's soul before drifting downwards in shame. "She cheated on me when I needed her the most."

Ruby's jaw dropped. "What?!"

"She met Velvet a few years back, swore up and down that nothing was going on and that she loved me, but then"—Weiss touched the tip of her scar with two fingers—"this happened."

Ruby pulled her hand free to hold Weiss tight with both arms wrapped around her shoulders. The older woman went rigid, but a soft kiss over the scar marring her left eye helped her see she was safe. After the tense moment passed, Weiss slowly relaxed and nestled herself under Ruby's chin, her hands clasped daintily above her own lap, unsure of where to place them.

"You don't have to tell me that story if you're not ready," Ruby said, nuzzling her cheek against Weiss' hair. "I know I can come off a little childish sometimes, but I do understand that people have pasts they don't want coming out. I've got my secrets and you've got yours."

Weiss shifted and pushed Ruby back a little to give her some space to speak. "But you wanted the truth," she said hesitantly, confused by Ruby's request.

"No, not like this, not until you're ready," Ruby explained, tilting Weiss' chin up with a finger. "What I wanted to know was where I stood. Do I really have a chance?"

"Of course you do, Ruby," Weiss said, her expression softening. "I knew my marriage was doomed the moment she started pulling away. It was hard to accept, but we made a promise to let each other go when it was time."

"Well, I don't plan on letting you go anytime soon," Ruby said, pulling Weiss back into her.

Weiss chuckled as she returned the embrace. "I like the sound of that."

"Good," Ruby said, punctuating her statement with a kissed on Weiss' temple. "Because I really, really like you, Weiss."

"And I really, really like you too, Ruby," Weiss answered back.

They stayed in that simple embrace for a couple of minutes, exchanging small kisses and playful touches. Weiss could have continued on like that forever, but Ruby had one last burning question on her mind—alright, she had two, but that second one can wait.

Ruby gave Weiss' shoulders one last big squeeze before she pulled away to look Weiss in the eyes. "That thing you said back at Fleur-de-lis, when we were with Professor Ozpin, was that true?" she asked with tightly pursed lips.

Weiss raised a curious eyebrow. "Which part? We said quiet a few things when we were there."

"The girlfriend thing," Ruby clarified.

"Oh, yes, that," Weiss blushed. "I wouldn't be opposed to a proper courtship with you."

"Courtship? Did I break a law or something?" Ruby snickered immaturely.

Weiss rolled her eyes. "Dolt. How did Coco ever convince me to give you another chance."

"Whoa, whoa, whoa—whoa! Hold up, what was that supposed to mean?" Ruby exclaimed with wide eyes. "Wait, was that 'rash decision' you mentioned not seeing me again?"

"Yes," Weiss winced, unable to say more.

"Why?" Ruby gulped, trying to mask the hurt in her voice as best she could. She wasn't upset (she was a little upset), she just needed to know so she could avoid repeating the same mistake.

"I've told you why multiple times."

"Is it my thing with Coco?"

"Yes," Weiss answered again.

"Ugh, why is it always about her?!" Ruby cried out in frustration.

"Because she's all I have left!" Weiss stressed, silencing Ruby with a glare. "She's all I have left," she repeated in a much quieter tone after a tense moment of silence. "Without her, I'd be completely alone…"

"Weiss, that's not true," Ruby said, trying her best to sound reassuring. "You've got me."

But that wasn't enough for Weiss.

"I didn't have you until a week ago, Ruby."

"C'mon, you've probably got a crap ton of friends!" Ruby tried again.

"I have a few, but no one as close to me as Coco is."

Ruby ruffled her hair to work out some of her pent up frustration but all that managed to do was mess it up. Ruby was no closer to feeling relieved than she was ten minutes ago when she was frustrated about something else entirely. Weiss seemed completely unaffected about it though and that just riled Ruby up even more. How could she go from nearly fu—Ruby dropped her head into hers hands. What was she doing? Weiss was candidly opening up to her and all she could think about was sex and Coco. At this point she wouldn't be surprised if she thought about her more than Weiss did.

"I know I'm asking a lot, and I'm truly sorry for putting you in a situation like this, but I need Coco in my life just as much as she needs me in hers… at least for right now."

Ruby looked up from a space between her fingers. "You know most people who're divorced normally hate each other."

"I'd hate her if I could," Weiss said bluntly. "But I'd be condemning her for a mistake she made when she was at her lowest."

"You can't call sleeping with someone else a 'mistake.' "

Weiss sighed, her brows furrowed together in deep thought. "I don't condone what she did. A mistake is a mistake and it cost us our marriage, but I'll be damned if I let it costs me my best friend."

"Weiss…"

"Coco's been with me since childhood, Ruby. She knows me inside and out… my fears, my dreams, my ambitions—everything," Weiss explained, her hands clasped tightly together. "We never dated because we were engaged, and our marriage was just another label for our friendship. The physical aspects were things we agreed to, well, things she agreed to. I merely offered."

"What does that even mean?" Ruby groaned in exasperation.

Weiss' story was starting to make her head spin. It was like listening to one of Blake's TV dramas where no one was happy and someone almost always died at the end. Why did it have to be this convoluted? Why couldn't it have just been a typical tale of attraction? Girl meets girl. End of story. Were all Atlesians this dramatic or was it just Weiss' family? Ruby wanted to ask her all this and more, but Weiss seemed to be on a roll today with the truth bombs.

"Coco wasn't attracted to me in the beginning," Weiss answered with a self-deprecating laugh, her eyes revealing a long forgotten pain. "She threw a major fit about it and screamed at me for not fighting back, called me a tool with no free will."

"But did you? Fight back, I mean."

Weiss bit her lip and averted her eyes. "No."

Ruby tilted her head to the side, trying to mull things over as best she could. Not arguing her parent's decision was something Ruby was painfully familiar with so she could understand Weiss a little, but marriage was a big deal. How could Weiss stand there and accept it no questions asked? So Ruby placed herself in Weiss' shoes and imagined what she would do if her father suddenly told her to marry her best friend. The immediate answer that came to mind was a solid, resounding "no," but if the other party was amenable to it then…

"You were in love with her," Ruby suddenly realized. Weiss nodded her head, confirming Ruby's hypothesis. "Oh."

"I was so irrevocably smitten by her," Weiss confessed, sighing. "To me she was everything… I loved her so much, but she didn't want me."

Tears began welling in Weiss' eyes with few spilling over whenever she tried to blink them back. Ruby wanted to reach out and wipe them away, but Weiss always beat her to it.

"When I told my father I was gay, I expected him to get angry and lash out. But instead he just pulled me to his chest and held me, telling me that it was alright and that he understood." Weiss wiped a few more stray tears away with her thumb, biting her lip as she thought of what to say next. "My father was not a good man, Ruby. He was cold, ruthless, and quite frankly a huge jackass… but he accepted me, no questions asked. So I immediately panicked and asked him why he was okay with it. Can you guess what he said?"

"Uh, he loved you and wanted you to be happy?" Ruby answered with an unsure shrug.

"Hah! I wish," Weiss muttered. "But no, he said 'we can use this to our advantage,' like I was some pawn he could use."

"What?" Ruby blinked, dumbfounded.

"That's exactly what I thought as well," Weiss said. "At first I assumed he wanted to use me to 'get to those bleeding hearts down in Vale,' but it turned out he wanted to use me to get to the Adels. He was initially going to use my little brother, Whitley, to try and get to Coco, but he was far too young for her."

"What about Coco's family? Didn't they have anything to say about it?"

"Oh, they did," Weiss chuckled. "They hated her boyfriend, but they adored me. Said I was a literal angel they would be proud to call their daughter. So in the end it panned out in everyone's favour except for Coco's and whatever-his-name-was."

"You don't have to answer this, but did she ever love you?" Ruby asked carefully.

From her few interactions with Coco Adel, Ruby got the distinct feeling she loved Weiss a little more than she let on. It was in the way she looked at her. Granted, she wore sunglasses most of the time like some sort of weirdo, but the affection was clearly there.

Weiss was mildly taken aback but smiled nevertheless. "She did. I don't know when or how exactly, but we were in bed together one night, about to go to sleep, when she told me she loved me for the first time. I almost dropped my scroll, I was so surprised."

"Wow," Ruby pursed her lips, "so you two were doin' the do before she even liked you? That's kinda weird, not going to lie."

"You don't need to love someone to have sex with them," Weiss said with a pointed look.

"But you loved her," Ruby countered, ignoring the subtle jab in Weiss' words. She already confirmed Weiss liked her, there wasn't any need to push the "I love you" topic yet.

"I did," Weiss replied. "Coco was already active by the time we were engaged. She used it as a way to workout her frustrations, so you can imagine how angry she was when she realized she'd have to go celibate until we were married or she found a way to break the contract."

"She didn't ask to see someone on the side did she?" Ruby asked warily, wondering how many more questions she had left until the thin ice under her finally broke.

"No, but I knew it was on her mind so I offered myself in exchange for her faithfulness," Weiss said, a twinge of sadness in her voice. "She refused vehemently of course. Said I was too young and that I was practically her sister, but… she gave in eventually."

"Weaaaak!" Ruby shouted, flopping onto her back. She stretched her arms high above her head and said, "Teenage Coco sounds like a dick, sorry not sorry."

"Ahaha, you're not wrong. She was the Queen Bee," Weiss said, moving to straddle Ruby's hips. "Everyone knew who she was, and they either loved her or hated her. Me? I was indifferent. The Coco I knew was sweet and funny..."

"Yang was sort of the same way," Ruby added, her hands innocently sliding up Weiss' thighs. "Oh, did I tell you my sister's a big fan of your ex?"

"You did," Weiss said, languidly undoing Ruby's belt. "You can invite her over for dinner sometime and introduce her if you'd like."

Ruby smiled, her mind drifting off to the conversation she had with Neptune about their biggest job to date. Weiss had no idea she worked for him so Ruby begged her boss to keep it a secret. Neptune was a little too eager to comply making Ruby mildly suspicious of him, but she still trusted him enough to keep his word.

"Yeah, I'll take you up on that offer one of these days."

"Push up," Weiss instructed.

"We can take it slow, you know," Ruby said, though she still lifted her butt off the bed so Weiss could pull her pants down. Thank God she did laundry then other day, no My Little Budgie undies to ruin the mood tonight—or any night for that matter until she was certain Weiss was sticking around. "I don't mind waiting."

"I know you don't, but I do," Weiss said, waiting for Ruby to kick off her shoes and her pants.

"Why?"

"Because," Weiss leaned in real close, "I want you."

A shiver ran up Ruby's spine. "You have me," she grinned.
