Author's Notes:

Okay, so basically this is a silly little idea I had one night talking to my fellow Shandy fans and generally fangirling over the spoilers about Andy working up the courage to take his relationship with Sharon to the 'next level.' Though I'm relatively sure I'll be proven wrong in tonight's episode, I find it hard to believe that after 2 years of 'nondates,' Andy could possibly take a month after that conversation in her office to ask her out.

What follows is a fun take on something else 'next level' could possibly mean.

"We haven't actually…"

"Stop right there!" Louie cut him off, his right hand flying off the steering wheel of the Crown Vic for emphasis, eyes glaring. "I am not having this conversation with you!" He turned his gaze back to the road with a low growl.

About a block later he chanced a glance to his right. His partner was sitting there staring dejectedly out the side window. Another block later he still hadn't moved. Three more blocks down Olympic Boulevard, Louie finally took pity on the man, his shoulders dropping in defeat as he raised the painful topic. "You know, they have these little blue pills now…Not that I've ever used them," he offered not making eye contact of any kind.

Andy let out a sort of grunting laugh. "That's not the problem." he assured his friend.

"Okay," Louie agreed nodding, still not daring to look in the younger man's direction.

"It's not," Andy tried again, but the look on Louie's face told him he didn't seem to be getting the message. "The number of cold showers I've taken in the past year… seriously, I don't even know if the hot water still works in my bathroom."

"Okay, okay," his partner cut him off again with a wave of his hand. Rolling his eyes in complete disbelief that he had indeed been hauled into a conversation about his best friend and their captain's combined sex life. "Then what's the hold up?" he demanded.

Andy took a deep breath. "The thing is Sharon and I…"

"Suspect in sight," Mike's voice came across the radio. "He's driving a green Jag eastbound on Pico Boulevard."

"Thank God." Louie muttered casting a grateful glance heavenward and flipping on the lights and sirens. Not remembering when he'd ever been so happy to give chase, he took a hard left and stepped on the gas.
