Hello everyone, first and foremost I apologize for not updating my other stories, but I genuinely don't know where I'm going with them yet. I deleted a couple, but kept three up. I have to go and read through each and figure out where I'm going with each and hopefully actually update at least one story this year. I'm genuinely sorry I've been gone for so long but I write each story chapter by chapter and don't plan a story out as a whole and if I do it's really vague. I realize that's incredibly unorganized of me, but I get more anxious coming up with a plan then coming up with a story chapter by chapter so yeah. I decided to just start with a whole new story for now because reading glimpses of the things I wrote six years ago as my 14 year-old self makes me cringe and face palm myself so much, haha, nonetheless, do not worry for I will continue my remaining three stories aside from this one.

Thank you for those who waited and I hope you enjoy this story of mine.

Ch. 1: April 5th say hello to May 21st

They say life hits you step by step, but he hit me like a whole staircase. Unfortunately, it didn't lead in the right direction.

When I met him I was seven and it wasn't love at first sight.

That day a great festivity between the Hyƫga clan and the Uchiha clan had occurred. The two clans had decided to put all hostilities to rest thanks to the friendship forged between our parents.

According to my parent's their friendship had stemmed from the Great War when my mother had hidden his mother from enemies and kept guard while she gave birth to him behind a rock.

Meanwhile on another battlefield our fathers fought out their friendship through fists since neither one could take an order from each other. However, once the enemy started attacking their base they realized cooperation would be the only way to get out alive. From that point on the two held a great respect and trust towards one another and decided if they came out of the war alive they'd try their hardest to end the turmoil between the two clans.

Thus, came the day we met and also they day I would come to find out much later had been his actual birthday.

April 5th.

I was really surprised when I saw him because he glared at me like I was the reincarnation of his greatest nightmare. I wasn't expecting that in the slightest. Naively I had thought we'd be best friends from the start since our parents were already best friends.

So when he'd glared at me with such ferocity I couldn't help but hide behind my mother.

That was the first out of many times I would catch his signature smirk.

That day would not mark the commencement of our friendship. He refused to speak to me much less be left alone in a room with what he said with great disgust 'a girl with cooties'.

However, eventually, with the help of time and our parents, when I was ten he finally came around.

At that time I had yet to make friends since I was deemed either "too quiet" "too serious" "too shy" or just simply "too boring" for my fellow classmates. There was no one granting me a happy birthday, not even the school announcements.

Yet, he came to me at recess with:

"I'm only doing this for my parents can stop bothering me about it."

So he grabbed my hand and introduced me to his friends who would eventually become my friends too.

I didn't tell him how happy that made me, but I think he noticed when I almost started tearing up when I told him "thank you" that day after school.

He looked embarrassed and told me it wasn't such a big deal so I shouldn't cry about it, but he started walking to and from school with me ever since then.

He didn't know it then, but he'd actually given me the greatest birthday present.

May 21st, that was the day that marked our friendship.
