Hello, my lovely readers. Tis the end of this fic. Hope you like it. On with the show…
Chapter 22: Enough of This Freaky Friday
Stefan Salvatore did not like to think of himself as the type of person who lived with a vendetta. He liked to think he was rational and reasonable. Damon was the type of person who would hold a grudge until his last day on the planet. Klaus probably had a world-record on grooming his pet grudges and setting them into the world. Not Stefan. He could not live like that. Or so he thought. But finding out that some man came along and killed Stefan's child in cold blood, set his mind into vengeance mode.
"Take a right at the next corner," the navigation system directed Stefan.
Nodding, Stefan turned a corner and made his way toward the hotel a very helpful witch on Klaus' payroll had sent Stefan toward.
Yup. Being in Klaus' body had some benefits. And one of the major benefits was coming up soon.
Stefan parked the car and pushed the door open. A bellhop came over and Stefan gave the man a quick smile. "No baggage today, my friend," he told the bellhop.
"Yes, sir," the young man replied. He turned and went back to his post.
Moving toward the glass sliding doors, Stefan felt a little smirk appear on Klaus' face. The longer he remained in Klaus' body, the more Stefan felt bits of Klaus' personality beginning to rub off on him. They needed to turn back—on a permanent level—soon, but not before Stefan got his revenge.
Stefan made his way to the banks of elevators. He didn't need to stop at the desk. He held a piece of paper with the room number on it. If only he could get his mother away from Julian before something that could not be taken back happened. However, Stefan's thirst for justice would not allow him to stop.
The doors whooshed open and Stefan stepped out and into the hallway. He made his way to the door at the end of the hallway. Raising a hand, he knocked and waited.
The sound of a woman's light laugh came toward the door and Lily opened it. "Hello?" She greeted Klaus.
"Not room service?" Julian appeared beside Lily, his hand on her hip. "Who are you?"
"A friend of Stefan's. Might I come in? We have much to discuss." Stefan did not allow either of them to reply. He took hold of the edge of the door and pulled a Klaus move, pressing his way inside the room while Lily and Julian moved backward. They seemed to sense Klaus' age. Stefan's mother's hands curled into fists. Julian's eyes darkened. They were ready to fight.
"I have some questions for you, Julian," Stefan said, moving to lean against the wall nearest the door, preventing any kind of an escape attempt. "Didn't you care how Lilian would react when she found out you killed her only grandchild?" Tossing the words out with a careless air, Stefan added a dark look that he knew scared most of the supernatural community.
"What?" Julian let out a sharp laugh. He looked at Lily whose eyes were wide.
"Sir. You're wrong. Julian would never do something that terrible," Lily replied.
Stefan nodded. "You believe your lover over the mother of your son, Stefan's, unborn offspring?" He watched Lily's jaw tighten. Her gaze seemed to reflect inwardly as she thought on his words. Turning his attention back to Julian, Stefan continued. "You never thought the truth would come out? Did you? You believed that you could contain the crime you committed? Yes? That there would be no justice for Valerie?"
Julian's eyes narrowed. "These are lies! I suggest you get out before I toss you out the window into the fiery sun!"
"That would not bother me in the slightest!" Stefan hissed out, stalking toward Julian and grabbing the younger vampire's neck. "Let's see how you fare without your sunlight ring, shall we?" Speeding over to the window, Stefan banged Julian's head against it until the glass gave and Julian's head went through. Stefan jerked the other vamp's daylight ring. "As the person who resides in Klaus Mikaelson's body; I have no fear of sunlight. Perks of being a hybrid."
A low growl came from behind Stefan and he felt a hand go inside Klaus' chest. "Let him go!" Lily snarled.
Then a number of things happened at once.
The front door flew open and the sound of a woman chanting in Latin rang through the air. Julian took advantage of the distraction to head-butt Stefan and Stefan let out a groan. It only stung until Julian hit him again. Then Stefan's hold loosened when Julian raised a knee and drove it into Klaus' crotch.
Taking advantage, Julian pushed Klaus' body away from his own and moved toward the open door. Stefan turned to find Damon picking up the flat screen TV and banging it over Julian's head. "Now that is 3-D," Damon pronounced, looking at Julian's head poking through the frame of the TV.
"Julian! Damon, what have you done!" Lily demanded, tears in her eyes and she made her way to her lover.
"Don't ask me what I did!" Damon snapped at his mother. "Ask him what he did!" He pointed at Julian. "Unless baby bro beat him to the punch." Damon's eyes flicked to Stefan.
Lily's brows came together and she looked from Damon, to Stefan in Klaus' body to Klaus in Stefan's body. "What?" She exclaimed.
"There's been a bit of the switch up, mom," Damon said. "Stefan's in there." He waved at Klaus' body. "And the immortal pain in the ass is in this handsome fellow." Damon clapped a hand on Stefan's shoulder before Klaus shrugged him off. "But, don't worry, we're gonna get them back where they belong. Plus, we're taking your boy back to Salvatore Central to deal with his stupidest move."
"You'll do no such thing!" Lily snapped, rising to her feet.
"You have little choice in the matter." Freya moved to stand facing Lily.
"Witch," Lily hissed.
Freya cocked her head to the side. "Try me." When Lily did exactly that, Freya closed her fist and Lily began to cough until she dropped over. Eyes on Stefan, Freya looked relieved. "Are you ready to get back into your own body?" she asked him.
"Never been more ready," Stefan replied.

Back at the Salvatore Boarding House, Stefan lifted a glass of bourbon to his lips. He watched as Freya moved about the room with Hope on her hip. "Okay. This should do the trick," she said.
Stefan made no comment as he looked at the drawing on the coffee table. Hope looked at it intensely. Her little hands curled in her aunt's shirt. How could a child this young do the kind of magic they needed her to do? Then again, Freya said that Hope made this happen. He would just have to have some faith.
"Are you, you, yet?" Damon asked, draining his third glass of bourbon.
"No," Klaus deadpanned. He leaned against the back of the couch Stefan sat on. Fingers curling into the upholstery, Klaus made it quite clear that he was all out of patience with this whole body switching thing.
And by the sounds of the screams in the basement, Stefan felt pretty sure that Julian was not looking forward to his punishment. As long as one of the heretics didn't show up to do Lily's dirty work, things should be fine. What Stefan's and Damon's relationship with their mother would look like when this was all done; Stefan had no idea.
"Patience, Brother," Elijah counseled, although he looked just as ready for this to end. Hayley sat in a chair in front of Elijah, her arms were wrapped around her knees. Stefan felt badly that the grieving widow had to be dragged into this mess.
Caroline came into the room. "They're still stuck, aren't they?" she asked, hands moving to her hips.
Stefan nodded. "Yeah. So far." Then he paused. He realized that he was standing behind the couch. His eyes moved to Caroline whose eyes widened before she let out a gleeful laugh. "Or not." His friend came over to throw her arms around his neck.
"Right then," Klaus stood up. "I need a drink." He walked over to the decanter of bourbon and poured himself a drink before he seemed to catch sight of himself in the glass. "I'm in my own body."
"Didn't notice," Damon said with a smirk.
"They're back," Bonnie cried, laughing. She looked at Freya who smiled.
Hope let out a loud coo of delight, a wide smile on her face. Klaus sped over and took his child in his arms. "Darling," he cried, rubbing her back. "You sweet, naughty girl. I am going to have to remind you for your entire life to be careful of using your powers on family."
Chuckling, Damon moved to join Stefan. "You ready to deal with the psycho in the basement?"
Stefan nodded. "I want to end this chapter and begin a new one." His eyes went to Freya. She was playing with Hope's little fist but their eyes connected for a moment. "How would you feel about taking a trip down to New Orleans for…I don't know…a month…or two?" Stefan asked Damon. "When this part is over?"
Damon nodded. "I think I could be persuaded."

Wind blew in the front yard of the Boarding House. Stefan stood, his arms crossed over his chest as he watched Julian watching Stefan and his friends. "What are you waiting on, pray tell?" Julian asked them with a smile. "If you plan on killing me, get on with it."
Shaking his head, Stefan moved to stand over Julian. "You want this to be quick? Painless? You don't deserve either." Turning his back on the vampire, Stefan caught sight of his mother. She knelt on the grass, her wrists bound behind her and she watched the proceedings with a sense of bitterness that made Stefan harden his heart. He could tell she loved this monster and it hurt Stefan. But he would not allow them to see that.
A woman approached them. "Valerie!" Lily cried. "What have you done?" she shouted, trying to rise to her feet but Klaus placed a hand on her shoulder, easing Lily back down. "Valerie, please, tell them the truth!"
Valerie met Stefan's eyes. Stefan could see the pain there. "Thank you," she said. With a quick nod at her former lover, she walked over to Freya and turned to face Julian. "You took something from me, Julian. There is nothing you can do to repent for the suffering you forced me to endure. You are a coward. You are a murderer. You do not deserve to walk this earth."
Julian rolled his eyes. "I am so very sorry, Lily, that you have to sit through these theatrics. Forgive me?"
Lily nodded and Stefan felt his hands clench. "Always."
Freya held up a hand. "You chose to lie to your last moment. Let's see what the one you care for thinks when you choke on the lies you tell?" she took hold of Valerie's hand. "Loquens iustituiam adnuntians recta!" Freya and Valerie cried and the wind blew in a gust, sending their hair flying and Julian convulsed before he looked to Lily.
"I tortured the little bitch 'til her bastard died in her womb. I would do it again! She would have stopped us from being together!" Julian choked out, his fingers scratching at his throat, blood began to coarse down the sides and Julian did seem to be literally choking on his words.
"Julian?" Lily began to sob. "No! This is another lie! You're making him say these things."
"It is a simple spell. The Latin for 'speak the truth.'" Freya folded her hands in front of her. "I'm sure that you thought this creature kind. Perhaps he was. To you. However, he committed an act that cannot be and shall not be forgiven. We cast you into hell," Freya turned and looked to Valerie.
With a shaky breath, Valerie inhaled. "Incendia!" she cried, holding up both hands and the group watched as Julian began to burn. No one moved until there was nothing but ashes. When it was done, Valerie fell to her knees, sobbing.
Stefan walked over and knelt beside her. "It's over, Valerie. You're free."
Drying her eyes, Valerie nodded. "Thank you," she said. And then she was gone.
Damon stood over their mother. Stefan saw already Damon was wondering what to do with her.
"I am so sorry," Lily began to mumble. "I am so, so sorry."
"Well, a little time in the cell downstairs will give you some time to think on that," Damon said.

Stefan packed his bag and zipped it before heading downstairs. His brows went up when he noted that Damon had not packed up. "I thought you were coming with me?"
"It's cool. I'll come down next time," Damon said with a wave of his hand. "I'm on 'Mom duty.'" He inclined his head toward the door to the basement. "Somebody's got to make sure she doesn't get loose."
"Yeah?" Stefan nodded. "I'll see you then."
"In the right body this time, Brother," Damon said, grabbing Stefan in a one-armed hug. "Give Freya my love."
"You're so gross," Stefan said, laughing. He moved to the door. "Make sure Klaus doesn't kill anyone while I'm gone."
"Kill who?" Klaus came down the stairs, buttoning a shirt he'd borrowed from Stefan.
"Anyone." Stefan watched Klaus closely.
"Donovan," Damon added.
Klaus shook his head. "Off for your little rendezvous with my sister?" He moved to stand in front of Stefan. "You know that if you hurt her; I will end you?"
"Wouldn't have it any other way," Stefan retorted. "Try not to annoy Caroline too much."
"I'm keeping Caroline content with many, many shopping sprees," Klaus retorted. "Drop in on Hayley and my child, will you?"
"Of course," Stefan replied, feeling a little shocked that Klaus trusted him with Hope.
"Have a good trip," Klaus said with a smile.
Stefan nodded. "I will."

"That was…" Freya let out a sigh, leaning back against the headboard of her bed and laughed.
"Worth the plane ride next to the screaming two-month-old," Stefan replied, dangling a hand over the end of the bed and trying to remember if his legs still worked.
"Exactly," Freya said before she crawled down the bed and her hair fell over Stefan's face. "I could get used to this life, Mr. Salvatore." She beamed as she lowered her lips to his and Stefan groaned before flipping them.
"Five times in a row?" Stefan said, sliding his fingers into Freya's.
"I thought you vampires had stamina," Freya replied with a grin.
"We do," Stefan said, lowering his head and kissing her collarbone.
"This is why I do yoga," Freya cried out and they lost the will to speak in anything but gibberish for the rest of the night and sometime into the next day.

Three Years Later:
"Keep your eyes closed!" Freya cried, slapping Stefan's shoulder.
"Why?" Stefan cried out.
"Because if you open them, you'll miss the surprise," Freya retorted, her warm breath tickling Stefan ear.
Seconds later the blindfold came off and Stefan looked around the room. Then he spotted it. A new basinet. "Freya?"
"The in vitro took. I'm pregnant," Freya announced with a smile.
Taking Freya's left hand, Stefan kissed the back of it, right above the wedding ring. "I love you, Mrs. Salvatore."
"I love you, too," Freya replied. "And that is not the only surprise we have in store for you."
"We?" Stefan's brows rose.
The sound of giggles came from the foyer of their new home in New Orleans. "Hi, Uncle Stefan!" Hope cried out, running toward Stefan and throwing herself into his leg. "Come and see!" she cried, waving for Stefan to follow her.
Stefan followed his niece out to the front lawn. "Magic School?" He said, folding his arms and looking at the banner that Damon was unfurling in front of the house. "Damon? What is this?"
"They'll think it's for magicians and stuff," Damon said with a chuckle.
"Sure they will." Elena nudged Damon with her hip and rolled her eyes.
Damon grinned. "You know humans will believe whatever makes it easier for them to sleep at night."
"Who's in charge of this magic school?" Stefan asked.
"Funny you should ask." Klaus said and Stefan whirled to find the hybrid leaning against Stefan's front door. Klaus glanced at Freya with a smirk. "Caroline, Alaric and I will be dividing our efforts. But we can always use more recruiters. And more students." His eyes flicked to his sister's middle before moving to meet Stefan's. "We accept all ages."
Stefan rolled his eyes. "Magic school. Right. My kid's going to Hogwarts before they're even born."
"You need a real job anyway," Klaus said. "And it means we'll have plenty of time together, again, old friend."
"Klaus, stop harassing Stefan and help us get the banner up!" Caroline cried, climbing a stepladder.
"Isn't that what the twins are for?" Klaus demanded, pushing a stroller. "Girls?"
Stefan and his friends watched as the banner went up. "Does it have to go above my door?" Stefan called to Klaus and Caroline who seemed amused by the question.
Freya walked over to Stefan and slid her arms around his waist. "Are you ready for you next adventure?"
"With you? Always," Stefan pressed his forehead against Freya's. There were many parts of his life that he used to be haunted by. Now, Stefan felt like he had everything he'd ever asked for and much more. Yes. He was ready to open a new chapter of his life with Freya Mikaelson-Salvatore by his side, always and forever. And sometimes Klaus…but he'd worry about that some other time.
