A/N: I found this snippet I think was planned for a longer piece but whatever. Decided to polish it up since I hit a writing bug. It's pretty contained and I know so many people love this AU like I do. Enjoy! Stay safe everyone!

Behind Closed Doors

"You don't love me." Jason turned at the frankness of his wife's words, slightly hurt by her straight forwardness. Reyna lounged on his bed, running her slender hands over the soft furs. She's an alluring vision. Her dark hair tumbled over her left shoulder, mused by his fingers when they kissed. The tunic she stole half open revealing her tan skin with light scars disappear underneath the fabric. He wanted to trace those lines with his lips, wondering what sound his wife would make. "Enjoying the view?" She asked, deliberately crossing her bare legs so the edge of his tunic would brush her mid-thigh.

"Very much." Jason replied brashly, trying to hide how much she actually affected him. Reyna, former Bellona, now Jupiter, is a dangerous woman in body and name. She slashed a scar across the Great Hercules' cheek, leaving her mark. She led her army in the middle of winter, laying siege on Olympus forcing the great family to cede. The woman who made Jupiter House bend a knee.

Why didn't you destroy us? Jason wondered as he approached, running his fingers over the edge of the bed. His fingers grazed the tip of her feet, noting the shiver through her body. She isn't impervious to him either. She studied him like a cat stalking her prey, appreciating his half clothed form. What is going on in that pretty mind of yours?

"Don't lie to me, Jason." The way she said his name tugged at his heart, forcing his eyes up to meet hers. It was a mix of a threat and promise. Her words always held a double edge. "This only works if we trust each other."

"I know." Jason whispered as he kneeled on the bed. The dip slid her towards him as he curled his fingers around her thin ankle, marveled at the softness of her skin. Their treaty is a balancing act, keeping the peace between the two families.

"What's that noble saying?" Jason pondered as he stroked her leg, feeling wisps of hair brushing his fingertips. "Ah, 'you don't have to be married and happy.' I hated whenever my father said that. Call me a romantic." Reyna's smile softened at his words as he inched closer to her, threading his fingers through her loose hair. "I don't dislike you. There are so many couples who despise each other. I don't want that."

"How?" She whispered, lowering her gaze as she put her hand over his. "After everything I've done. You should hate me." He should. Jason agrees. She nearly destroyed his family, his city, his legacy. She broke his engagement and forced him into this marriage. "How can you not hate me?"

Jason looked at their hands, feeling the callouses on the fingertips of hers. These hands took so many lives, causing destruction to his people. Reyna looked conflicted and confused at him, so ready for a fate of a loveless marriage. Jason hates that expression on her. He laced their fingers together and squeezed tightly.

"Maybe I'm a saint." Jason murmured as he loomed over her form, pressing their foreheads together. His other hand hooked behind her leg, holding her close. Reyna gasped, placing her hand on his chest right over his heart. "But I have very unsaintly thoughts about you, my wife." She chuckled lightly, stroking her fingers over his skin.

"Reyna, I hated you once a long time ago when you were the she-wolf, destroyer of my army, the Bellona girl. A faceless enemy. But now, I don't. You did what you must to survive. To keep your family safe just as I would." Jason tipped her chin up, forcing Reyna to look at him. "What I don't understand is why, why would you ask for an union instead of destroying my house completely?"

"We met once." Reyna confessed, pressing his hand against her cheek. "It was brief but it left an impression. You weren't Jupiter scum. You were someone like me trapped in this game of Houses and power." Reyna looked at him. Unlike Piper's changing eyes, Reyna's were solid black, steady and constant but still just as mesmerizing. "We shouldn't have to pay for our families' crimes. I wasn't going to be the judge, jury and executioner. You deserve a change to rebuild. We deserve a change to live our lives. I'm sorry it's me who has to be beside you."

"Don't," Jason laced his fingers behind her neck, tugging her forward so their lips were inches apart. "Apologize. It's not becoming of you. My wife is strong, beautiful and a force. I won't have it any other way."
