Cassandra just couldn't seem to find the other librarians anywhere. They had just had another encounter with DuLaque and Lamia. They were on their way to locate the apple of discord when all of a sudden they had all gotten split up.
Cassandra was weaving her way through the endless corridors of the dragon's lair, looking for the other librarians. She just really hoped that she wouldn't run into Lamia or DuLaque…they gave her the creeps.
She slowed down when she began to hear voices coming from one of the rooms near where she was. She heard the distinct gruffness of Jakes voice and sighed in relief, thank God, she had finally found someone.
Cassandra strode up to the door and pushed it wide open.
Wow….she did not prepare herself for what she saw.
Standing in the middle of a large study, stood Jake and Lamia. She was practically wrapping herself around him.
"Oh please" Lamia purred "you can't resist me, I can see it in your eyes" her lips were inches away from his and she closed the distance in one swift motion.
Cassandra's body felt as though she had just been plunged into a frozen lake. She didn't know what to do and she couldn't move. Cassandra and Jake had finally built up a great friendship and it seemed like they were both moving towards something more. Maybe she had gotten her wires crossed. Stupid brain grape. Tears started to well up in her eyes and she tried to turn away but the motion caught Jakes eye.
"Cassie?" he called dazedly "What are you doing here?"
"I was looking for you, I thought that you might be in trouble" Her stare was cold and icy and she glanced at Lamia "Apparently not".
Jake could see the betrayal in Cassandras eyes and that nearly broke him. He had never wanted to hurt her but before he could say anything else, she turned and ran from the room.
"Where am I?" he asked.
He honestly couldn't remember anything. One minute he was standing with the other librarians thinking of strategies for finding that apple and the next, he was playing tonsil hockey with one of the few people he despises, while the woman he loved had just gotten her heart broken…by him.
"Oh calm down darling, you are just a means to an end" Lamia's smirk had disappeared and she was now re adjusting her top. "You are a pawn in a very large game Mr. Stone"
"What do you mean?" he replied with a lot of confusion.
"DuLaque and I needed a way to make sure that your precious family wouldn't get in our way anymore so what's better than seducing a man while his dearly beloved walks in on him and an obviously more attractive woman?" she smiled thinking over how well her plan had gone.
"Well lover," she continued "If I were her, my heart would be absolutely shattered by now and I would never be able to trust you again. Oops, that's too bad" She over exaggerated a sad face and then sauntered out of the room whilst laughing.
"Oh and if you're wondering" With her back still to him "I had a spell cast on you so it's not completely your fault….but you can't say that you didn't like it". She flipped her head back towards him and gave him a sultry wink then she turned around the corner and that was the last he saw of her….for now.
