Annabeth centric one shot:
Study. Drink coffee. Research Project. Sleep. Coffee. Study.
Annabeth Chase was about to go insane. It was the last three weeks of her last semester at Oxford, and she was going crazy. She was taking 18 credits and had taken on extra research projects to help her get that paid internship at the architecture firm, and she was almost regretting it. Double-majoring was hard enough, but she had also taken on five minors. She was working on a few, carefully calculated, hours of sleep and enough coffee to kill and elephant, but she would not get to rest for another week.
She'd gone to the University in New Rome for her undergraduate degree, but after she'd actually gotten into Oxford, she had moved to England, isolated from her lover and her friends, but it would be worth it. Annabeth would soon be graduating as the valedictorian, full honors, with a dual major in architecture and civil engineering (they are two different things) with minors in Greek, Latin, Japanese, gender studies and business management.
Now aged twenty-four, she was wrapping up her college career and getting ready to start her career and settle down. She'd already started planning her wedding, the silver and diamond band sitting sitting idly on her left hand as she typed her essay for gender studies. She reached for her coffee mug's dolphin-shaped handle, and was quite disappointed when she found the blue cup was empty. Her brain was somewhere between, "screw this," and "need more," so she groaned, saved her paper, and got up to brew more caffeine.
Her feet were clad in Hello Kitty socks from Piper, a gift to help Annabeth through the England chill. Annabeth shuffled through her dorm, ignoring the snoring of her roommate, Liz. Liz, oddly enough, is a friend of Sadie Kane's. Sadie occasionally drops by to hang out with Liz and their friend, Emma, but sometimes she and Annabeth go out and trade stories about their love lives and saving the world. Annabeth loves learning more about Egyptian mythology, and Sadie likes complaining about her boyfriends.
When Annabeth made it to the kitchen, she was surprised to find a fresh pot of coffee already brewing.
Annabeth rounded on the breakfast bar, smiling at the seated figure. "You're early," she complained with a smile.
"Am I? I must still be on American time. I don't know how the Brits do it. What time is it even?"
Annabeth smirked at her partner. "You're an idiot, you know? It's 3:48 in the morning."
"But I'm your idiot," her lover smirked, running a hand through the spiky mop of hair that was flattened from sleeping on the plane.
Annabeth walked over. "I love you."
"I love you, too."
Annabeth leaned over for a kiss, but pulled away a moment later. She got a little whine in response, but she just closed the door to Liz's room, and returned to straddle her partner.
"How about we relieve a little stress," she whispered sultrily.
"Absolutely. And then you can take me for tea and crumpets."
Annabeth laughed into her lover's neck. "As you wish."
