So...hello. It's been what two or three years since I updated this? Yeah, I apologize for that, life just got in the way, and I felt discouraged from finishing any of my stories, but I've returned now! Hope this small chapter is welcome.
She could feel herself drifting...Sinking further and further into...darkness. That's all there was. Endless, empty darkness as far as the eye could see.
"What...is this?" Xion called out quietly. "What is this please?"
"There, there little one..." a raspy voice called out.
Xion gasped. "Who's there?"
"What troubles you?" the voice called out, ignoring her question.
"I-I don't know what I truly am. And I'm not sure who to trust." Xion admitted.
"You're frightened." the voice pointed out. "Afraid of what will become of you, once they find out what you are."
"Y-yes."
"Those...people." The voice spat. "These Keyblade wielders...are a danger to the world and to beings such as yourselves. So close minded and dogmatic! Not to mention hypocritical. Tell me...what's truly different between these so called heroes and the Organization? Nothing! They're the same! They only bring destruction to everyone around them!"
Xion grasped her head and shook her head. "No...even if that's true...Sora...he's different!"
The voice let out a deep chuckle. "That dull ordinary boy...he cannot protect you...from your fate!"
A loud clap of thunder made Xion snap her eyes open. Rain fell upon her face and thousands of people ran by her clashing with each other, all of them wielding Keyblades.
"What is this?" Xion asked. Before the voice answered a Keyblade wielder sight their sights on her and lunged at her. Xion closed her eyes and held her arms up in defense. Everything went quiet again. When Xion opened her eyes she was back in the pitch black realm again.
"The Keyblade War..." The voice answered. "A battle of terrible destruction that nearly destroyed the universe. It was averted for now...but it's inevitable."
"What?" Xion asked.
"On that great land, a Great War will transpire...darkness will prevail, and the light expire. The future like your fate can't be changed..."
"No!" Xion yelled sharply. "I'm not some tool to be tossed aside, I'm nobody's puppet, and will do whatever I must to change my fate!" Xion felt a chill run down her spine.
"Anything?" The voice rasped.
Xion pursed her lips before nodding certainly. "Yes."
"Then open your heart little one..."
"W-what?" Sharp dark purple fog appeared out of thin air and lunged at Xion.
Xion stepped back frightened. "What is-"
"Shh..." The voice soothed. "I'm here to help. To give you the strength to change your fate..."
Xion relaxed as the fog approached closer. Taking a deep breath, Xion felt the darkness flow through her, deep inside her heart. As Xion opened her now golden eyes and brushed her silver hair behind her ear, the voice rang in her head, "It's time little one...rise up and defy your fate!" Xion grinned.
"As my new vessel..."
"Xion?" Aqua called out as she stepped into the room. "Are you..." She gasped. "Terra!"
Terra ran into the room. "What is it?!" He stopped as he saw the figure laying on the ground.
"Is that...Xion?" Aqua asked.
"Not anymore. Terra said grimly. "It's Xehanort now."
Hope you all enjoyed this chapter of Xion's dream sequence and the slight follow up with Aqua and Terra. Reviews and thoughts are appreciated.
