I don't want to die...

His eyes darted between the fallen bodies of his fellow exorcists, and the gray skinned man who stood calmly before him, a polite smile on his gray lips.

"What's your name, my good man?" The Noah asked, his voice deep and deceptively friendly, as if he hadn't just cut down the two other exorcists without breaking a sweat.

Suman took a shaky step back in fear, his breathing erratic, as the Noah strolled towards him, leaving nary a ripple in his wake.

Help me!

The world seemed to slow down as Suman staggered away from the approaching Noah, his mouth parted in a silent scream of terror and his pupils dilated as his heart-rate sped up.

Someone, please help me!

I don't want to die!

The Noah's cackle echoed around him and the gray hand shoved against his chest, sending the exorcist falling to the ground, blood erupting from his parted lips.

I want to go home...

I just want to go home...

As his clouded gaze stared at the white clouds in the sky, Suman remembered. He remembered the day that his Jamie had begging him not to go, to stay with her. He could still remember the feeling of his heart breaking as she cried for him to come back and her mother sobbed in the doorway of their family home while the Finders herded him away from them.

"Don't go Daddy!"

Please don't kill me...

"I want to go home..."

Let me go home...

"I want to see her again."

"DADDY! COME BACK!"

"Please..."

I don't want to die...

"I'll do anything."

I just want to see my daughter.

"This isn't the story of a traitor, but of a man who loved his family more than anything, a man who was forced to make terrible choices. Don't hate Suman, pity him."

-Hoshino Katsura

A very short fic about Suman Dark.

As you can see, I began to re-watch Man, and I have once again broken my heart over Suman's story. It made me sad enough to write this little 300 word fanfiction about his betrayal of the Order.

Not as good as my other works, but hope you enjoyed it!
