Chapter Fourteen: Diversion Tactic Engage!

"Kagome!" a jovial voice yelled from across the way. Kagome only had time to turn around before she felt an impact on her front. Without even having to look down Kagome knew the identity of her adorable assailant and instantly froze up. She was still near the trash can and, from where she stood, the cursive print of her name on the summons could be seen clearly. Dammit.

Not wanting Momiji to see and possibly ask questions, she instantly picked him up under his arms and proceeded to twirl him away from the trash and closer to their seats, all while smiling at him blindingly. She was smiling so hard and giggling so much with Momiji that her face and stomach hurt, but if it could diverge his attention, it was a sacrifice she was willing to make. She would just have to throw something away to cover the letter. With that plan in mind, Kagome set Momiji down in his chair and patted his head while seating herself next to him, ruffling his strands a bit. "Good morning to you too Momiji," Kagome finished with a slight chuckle. He was just too cute.

Momiji, still giddy from the exuberant greeting, leaned into Kagome's hand and smiled once more, "Let's get ice cream after school! Ice cream!"

Kagome stopped herself before she agreed, she had just had ice cream and as much as she loved sweets eating ice cream two days in a row was a bit much. "Sorry, I wish I could, but I already ate ice cream yesterday."

"Without me?" Momiji asked with tears in the corner of his eyes. But wait, Momiji thought, "Who did you get ice cream with?!" he exclaimed with an angry pout and the tears miraculously gone.

Kagome looked off to the side, chuckling nervously, refusing to make eye contact. Momiji was having none of that, getting out of his chair and placing himself in front of where Kagome was looking, only for her to turn her head to the other side. Momiji continued to try and place himself in front of Kagome, to force her to answer, both moving progressively faster. Having had enough of it, Momiji made a grab for her face, only to find Kagome no longer in seated in front of him. A quick scan of the room showed Kagome making her way to Haru who was just making his way into the classroom. Haru can help me make her talk, Momiji thought as he made his way to Haru as well.

While trying to avoid Momiji, Kagome noticed Haru coming into the classroom out of her eye. She easily dismissed it, until she remembered. Haru was walking through the door. Entering in from the door. The door which the trash can was placed to the side of. The trash can that could easily be seen while walking in. The trash can which held the letter with her name obviously on the front. Knowing Haru, he would probably try and see what it said. Crap! Kagome quickly got out of the chair and made a beeline for Haru, she would not have her efforts with Momiji wasted!

"Haru-chan, Good morning!" Kagome shouted on the way to him, trying to get Haru's attention before he could notice anything.

Haru gave a nod of his head while flatly replying as Kagome came to a stop in front of him, "Good morning."

Before another word could come out of anyone's mouth, Momiji tugged on Haru's sleeve. Haru looked down at Momiji and waited for him to continue, Momiji immediately pointed at Kagome, since he now had Haru's attention, while whining, "Haru~ Kagome went out for ice cream yesterday and won't tell me who she went with."

Haru then stared at Kagome with a smirk to which she blushed at. Maintaining eye contact, Haru replied in a sexy smooth baritone that should be illegal, "Oh really."

Kagome's blush deepened.

She is just too cute, Haru thought as his smirk deepened.
