Rain pattered on the grounds of the school and everywhere around them she could feel the cold. Nothing was quite stopping it, not even the warm arms wrapped around her wide waist. She shuddered and burrowed closer to the man that was holding her, the familiar smell of sugar and noxious chemicals lulling her into a state of happiness. "It's so cold out here, I need to be warm."

The thin arms brought her closer. "You're cold? I'm sorry about that, but it's okay! It'll all be okay~!"

Yet she couldn't see how. Not with the blood running down her arm, not with the needles still stuck in her...

She couldn't understand anything anymore.

Not as an experiment.

But that was the beauty of it...Wasn't it? All of this had always been an experiment. From the side long glances, to the hesitant touches, even the forbidden kisses. All of it had been an experiment to see what it would be like. To be loved and held, to have someone who cared for you no matter what. She had toyed with him and when the fire became too hot she had bolted right out of the flames, but he hadn't liked that at all, and he dragged her back in with enough force to bring down a jet plane. It was at that point that she really became scared, had seen his true face which melted away with the acid and needles. Oh, she knew he had a love for science that could be terrifying at times, but this was something that would make a torture expert cringe in disgust.

"Isn't this nice?" He asked, bringing her even closer to him. She could hear his heart beat now and it surprised her that he even had one. "Maybe next time we can wait for you to get stitched up. I've been looking at so many different kinds of needles lately. There's so many types you know!"

His words were becoming fuzzy to her. There was just seemingly nothing left for her to listen to as her vision began to spot. Her body began to tremble and there was a pain in her chest. Well, in the end it was all her fault she supposed. Maybe next time she won't be so stupid and go after her Chemistry teacher...Maybe next time...

She wouldn't play with fire.

Incredibly short, but it was just a thought I had bumping around in my head. Eventually I'll make a longer story that I've been working on, but I also got this idea as well.
