Chapter 10

Wendy left soon after Natsu had interrupted them, not getting her answer to her question but leaving the newly-mated couple alone.

"Natsu Dragneel..."

Uh-oh. The vein. Lucy was actually pissed this time. Shit. What to do, what to do...

"Y-yes, Lucy?" Natsu asked, every fiber of his being yelling at him to run and hide from the blonde Celestial wizard in front of him - who's main weapon, besides her keys, was a friggin' whip.

"Wendy and I were having a very important conversation. Care to explain why it is you interrupted said conversation, 10 minutes BEFORE I told you to?" Lucy's hands were on her hips, and she looked very threatening. If it wasn't for the fact they were mated, he'd be scared for his life right about now. But she wouldn't actually kill him, since she said she loved him... right?

"W-well, y-you see what happened was-"

"No!"

"B-b-but-"

"No!"

"Lu-"

"No excuses!"

"...Have I told you how stunning you are when you're angry?" Natsu asked genuinely.

This threw her off track, the vein disappearing, "W-what? What are you talking about? And what does that have to do with anything?"

Natsu shrugged as he sat down on her bed, Lucy standing above him, as he replied, "Well, it doesn't really have to do with anything. It was a question, since you won't let me answer why I came here earlier than you told me I could."

Lucy sighed, realizing she was being a tad over-dramatic. Natsu was possessive, just like a dragon, so she couldn't fault him for coming into the apartment sooner rather than later.

"No, you haven't actually," she finally replied after most of her earlier anger had disappeared.

Natsu grinned at her as he said, "Well, you are!"

"I do have a question though," Lucy remarked thoughtfully as she sat down on her bed next to the dragon slayer.

"What's that?"

"Erza, earlier... you know why she's been acting the way she has?"

He stared at her for a moment before the light-bulb went off, "Oh. Yeah. It's not hard to with a dragon's nose," he replied, tapping said nose.

"Ok. So what's wrong with her?"

"Nothing."

Lucy blinked at him. Then her eyebrow rose as she was too tired to ask him what it is he means by that.

"Nothin's wrong with her," Natsu grinned as he said, "she's pregnant!"

The blonde's eyes went wide at his exclamation, her jaw dropping as well.

"Erza... is pregnant?" Lucy asked him, flabbergasted.

"Yup!" Natsu was all smiles.

He had yet to realize, like Lucy had, just what that meant for the guild.

Eyes still wide, she couldn't help but whimper, "We're all gonna die..."

"Wait, what?"

Lucy looked to her partner and mate, to see a look of confusion adorning his face.

"Natsu. Women... when they get pregnant, get so hormonal and emotional... they almost physically cannot think rationally. And this is Erza we're talking about! We're gonna die... and if we don't die by her hand, we're gonna die at the hands of her demon-spawn!"

Natsu couldn't help but utter, "Now look who's scared of Erza,"

"Like you aren't!"

"Nah."

"Oh really?"

"Really. I mean, we're probably gonna make Magnolia run out of strawberry cake, but I think we'll all live. Well. Most of us, anyways. I feel bad for Jellal, though."

Lucy too, felt bad for Jellal. He was going to have to survive Erza's wrath every day of his life, and that was before the pregnancy! But hopefully for him, all of those years together allowed him to find some way to calm her down?

They didn't get to think about it much, because Happy flew in the open window just then, saying they were needed at the guild.

When they questioned the blue Exceed, all he had to say was that it was an emergency, and they needed to get over there right away.

Sprinting out the door with Happy on their trail, they made a quick journey to Fairy Tail, almost breaking down the doors - only to find a banner that said 'Congratulations!', as well as other decorations that were pink and blue scattered across the guild.

The dragon-slayer and celestial wizard blinked, wondering what on Earthland was going on.

"You did well, Happy," said Erza as she approached the trio, tossing him a fish as she did so, the Exceed flying off to see Carla after obtaining his reward.

"Um, Erza? What's going on?" the blonde asked the scarlet beauty.

"What does it look like? We are throwing a party, of course."

"For who?" this time Natsu spoke up.

"For me and Jellal. I just found out this morning. I'm going to be a mother!" Erza said with tears in her eyes.

Natsu blinked at her as he said, "But we already-"

"Congratulations, Erza! We're so happy for you!" Lucy said, cutting him off. The idiot was going to get them killed at the hands of their own guildmate!

"Thank you, Lucy, now, let us celebrate, Fairy Tail style!" she shouted as she turned back to the guild, making everyone cheer and begin the party now that all of the members were present.

And yes, all of the Fairy Tail members were present. Including Gildarts, who was currently fawning over his daughter, Cana, while she ignored him and continued drinking her alcohol.

The Rajinshu were feeling much better, and were all out of the infirmary, though they kept rough-housing to a minimum. Well. Minimum for Fairy Tail.

Lucy sighed, as without even looking at her pink-haired partner, slapped him upside the head.

"Ow, Luce, what was that for?"

"For almost sentencing us to death, you idiot." She said as she finally looked him dead in the eyes, "Don't you think that telling Erza you knew would steal her thunder?"

"Erza has thunder? Like Laxus?"

Lucy face-palmed. How was it she always forgot just who her best friend was? Because she had no idea.

"No, Natsu. It's an expression. Stealing someone's thunder - unless you're applying it to Laxus, means stealing their spotlight."

"...When did she get a spotlight?"

Lucy blinked at him.

"I give up," Lucy turned towards the bar as she shouted out, "Mira! Help me!"

The white-haired wizard looked to see the expression on Lucy's face and couldn't help but let out a giggle as the blonde approached her usual stool.

"Natsu being Natsu, I see?"

"Ugh, yes. He almost got us killed at the hands of Erza and now he's just not using his brain and - ugh!"

She collapsed on the bar in exhaustion.

"Honey, you've been his best friend for 10 years. If anyone knows about him being Natsu, it's you."

"I know, I know. But can't a girl have a break for two seconds? I'm still adjusting to this new side of Natsu - I don't need the old side giving me a headache!"

"Oi, that's hurtful Luce! I'm not old!" Natsu exclaimed as he sat down next to Lucy, having heard the entire conversation.

"...Idiot... that's what you choose to be hurt over?"

"Wait. New side of Natsu... what do you mean?"

Lucy froze, realizing just then, that Mirajane didn't know Natsu and Lucy were now officially together.

Shit.

Natsu must've realized the same thing because he sheepishly laughed at Mirajane, then bolted, leaving Lucy to deal with the while-haired she-devil.

"Some dragon," Lucy muttered under her breath.

"Oi, I heard that!" yelled Natsu from across the guild.

But Lucy ignored him in favor of preparing Mirajane for what she was about to say.

"Okay, Mira, you should probably sit down for this."

The white-haired wizard however, remained standing behind the counter, looking at Lucy expectantly.

"So, you're not gonna sit, okay... well um... Natsu and I... we kinda, sorta, maybe, became... official?"

Mirajane stopped cleaning the bar as she stared at Lucy for any signs of teasing or deception. When she found none... the realization that her favorite ship had finally sailed struck her hard, and she blacked out right then and there.

"Mira!"

Yay, Erza's pregnant!

I'm just happy to finally be cranking out chapters for this story! Woot! Things should be getting more interesting from here, unless everyone is happy with the fluff and funny things...? Lemme know, guys, cuz I don't really know if I want to start some action or if I want them to enjoy being a couple for a little while longer.
