A/N: I'm not totally sure why, but I've fallen in love with the idea of Daddy Rollins and it won't leave me alone. This is just a one shot, but it may get a story of its own if enough people enjoy it and let me know that they want more.
Seth Rollins was frantic. His girlfriend had entrusted him with the single most important person in her life and he had lost her in his workplace. His sometimes dangerous workplace. She was worried about him being distracted by his job and allowing the little runt to run away, which was exactly what he let happen. He had only let go of her hand to sign off on some new merch, and then she had somehow wandered off.
"Juliana!?" He called, looking into catering to see that only The Big Show and Mark Henry were in there. "Have you guys seen a little girl? She's like two feet tall, longish blonde hair, big blue eyes?"
"Let her hand go for a second?" Mark asked and Seth nodded.
"And poof! She was gone." The younger man spoke, snapping his fingers for effect. "My girlfriend is going to kill me."
"Check with the Divas. They're kid magnets."
"Thanks guys. Could you look out for her for me?"
"Of course." The two big men responded, chuckling as they watched the younger man run off to find his girlfriend's daughter.
He made his way to the Diva's locker room, knowing on doors and looking under tables along the way, all the while calling out for the little girl that he honestly saw as his own flesh and blood. He was freaking out; knowing that if anything happened to her then he'd kill whoever was responsible for it, and then his girlfriend would kill him. He just wanted to find her so he could relax a little bit.
"Juliana!?" He called for the almost-three-year-old again, knowing that his voice would be hoarse by the time the show started if he didn't find her soon.
"Dude, what's wrong?" Dean Ambrose, one of his best friends, asked as he stopped his frantic friend in the hall. It took him a moment before he realized just what was missing in his friend's appearance. "You didn't."
"I did. I let her go for one second, just to sign off on some merch and then she was gone."
"Shay is going to kill you."
"Shay isn't going to find out. We've got us, and Renee will help, right? It's just the Staples Center. She can't be too many places."
"Just because you find her doesn't mean Shay won't find out. You lost her kid, regardless of whether it was five seconds of five hours. She will find out and she will kill your ass. Or worse, leave you because you really only had one job."
"I'm so fucked." Seth groaned, running a hand down his face and scratching at his beard. "God damnit, I'm so fucked."
"Just take a couple deep breaths, alright? We'll find her."
"That doesn't mean that Shay won't dump me because I lost her kid for a few minutes."
"I shouldn't have said that." Dean spoke quickly, patting Seth on the shoulder gently. "She's not going to leave you just because you made a mistake. Shay loves you, and it's obvious that she does because she trusted you with Juliana. Alright?"
"You're not helping me feel better."
The blonde was silent as they walked the halls together, trying to figure out what exactly he had just said to make Seth feel worse, but his eyes stayed sharp on the hunt for the little blonde rascal. For two years old, she managed to get herself into a lot of shit and he knew it was a learned trait from her mother because Shayla was a mischievous woman. But that was what drew Seth to her and made him fall in love with the little girl just like he fell for her mother. They were his whole world now, healing his heart after it had been broken(it was mainly his fault but it could've happened differently in Dean's opinion), and Seth was a better man because of them.
His phone vibrating in his back pocket had Seth more frantic than he once was, especially when he saw who was calling.
"It's Shay, man. What do I say? I can't tell her that I lost track of Julie."
"I've got it." Dean assured, taking the phone from the younger man as he continued to walk down the hall in search of the toddler. "Hey, girl, hey."
"Dean?"
"Whatcha need, sweetheart?"
"I was hoping to talk to Seth and check on Juliana." She sounded worried and Seth could hear it. Dean, on the other hand, blew off her worry and winked at his friend.
"Yeah, he's been carrying her around and introducing her to all her favorites and it just wore her out. So he went to find a set with a couch for her to lay down on until the show started and left his phone behind on accident. You know how forgetful he can be."
"Yeah, I know." Shayla sighed, and Seth just knew that she was running a hand through her hair. "I should be at the arena in about an hour. Things are taking a bit longer than I expected them to."
"Don't you worry about it. Seth loves spending time with her."
"Alright. Thanks Dean."
"Not a problem Shay. See you soon." With that, the blonde hung up on his friend's girlfriend before looking to Seth with a smirk. "Taken care of. You both worry too much."
Biting back a comment about being in a situation worthy of worrying, Seth just took his phone back and continued down the hall until he reached the Diva's locker room. He knocked on the door rapidly, hoping that whoever answered got the gist that he was panicked.
"Where's the fire?"
"Brie, have you seen Juliana? She's like two feet tall, blonde, blue eyes-"
"Yeah, Daniel has her. She was freaking out about not being able to find you so he offered to take her to you. Obviously he hasn't found you because you're here and-"
"Thanks Brie!" Seth called as he ran down the hall in search of the "goat man" who currently had his daughter. Dean gave the twin a much calmer thank you before going in the opposite direction, knowing that they'd find Daniel faster if they split up.
Knowing that Juliana was with Daniel was something that made Seth relax a bit, but he wasn't going to fully relax until he had her in his arms. He had almost knocked over a few PAs and had to shimmy inbetween the Bray Wyatt and Bo Dallas on his way, but soon he saw Daniel down the hall and called out to him. The older man turned, but looked panicked and didn't have Juliana, which made Seth groan.
"You let her go!?"
"She started squirming and I assumed that she wanted to walk but she ran and hid somewhere."
"How did a two year old outrun you?" He couldn't help but ask, looking under the tablecloth on the snack table to see if she was under there. "Gettin' old, Bryan?"
"Next time you lose her, I'm not helping you." Daniel laughed, gently punching the younger man's arm before watching as Seth dropped to his knees and started crawling along the floor.
"Juliana!?"
He was too focused on looking under tables and not focused at all on the ground in front of him. This led to his bosses watching him from where they stood at the end of the hall curiously without him noticing until his hand made contact with expensive feeling dress shoes. He took a deep breath before looking up, seeing Hunter's amused expression and his wife's worried one.
"Is everything alright?" Stephanie asked, holding a hand out to the younger man to assist him in standing. "Did you lose a contact?"
"I'm looking for my daughter. Her name's Juliana; she's like two feet tall, blonde hair, blue eyes." Seth explained, sheepish grin on his face as he looked between the two.
"You have a daughter? I never knew." Hunter asked, interest taking over his features and Seth nodded.
"Well, she's actually my girlfriend's daughter, but I love her like she was my own flesh and blood. That counts, right?"
"Yes, Seth. It counts." Stephanie assured with a smile, patting the young man's shoulder. "She's with my dad in his office for tonight."
"Thanks so much you guys. I'll see you later."
"Don't lose her again, Rollins!" Hunter called after him, chuckling when his wife smacked his arm. "What?"
Upon reaching Vince's "office", Seth knocked twice and waited for the Chairman to give him permission to enter before opening the door. Seeing Juliana sitting on his ultimate boss' lap, some kind of bill in her hand while he held her with with a smile made Seth breathe a sigh of relief at finally finding her.
"Juliana, thank god."
"Daddy!" The little blonde cheered, sliding from Vince's lap to run to Seth. He held her tight in his arms, kissing her head with a smile. It was the first time she had called him anything like "Dad" since he and Shayla had agreed that having her get to know him as a father figure wouldn't hurt anything two months ago.
"You had me scared half to death, little lady." He scolded, keeping his voice soft as he stood up, lifting her hold her against his hip.
"Does she belong to you, Mr. Rollins?"
"Yes, sir. I'm so sorry. I let go of her hand for one second to sign for merch and then she was gone."
"Stephanie did that a lot, too, when she was little. Kids live to explore and scare the hell out of their parents." Vince spoke with a smile, standing and approaching Seth. "She's got an eye for money, this one."
"Don't all women?" Seth joked, looking down to see that it was a hundred dollar bill that Vince had given her to play with. "Give Mr. McMahon his money back and say thank you, Julie."
"Let her keep it." The Chairman spoke, surprising Seth but making Juliana grin.
"Dank you." Her little voice chirped as she shoved the crumpled bill down Seth's shirt so he could "hold" it for her like she did with everything else except her cups. She had already learned her lesson that his shirt couldn't hold everything.
"You're welcome, Juliana." Vince said, raising his hand to her face and performing the classing "Got your nose" trick on her. She tilted her head before reaching out for Vince's hand, trying to get her "nose" back.
"Daddy, my nose."
"Mr. McMahon took it, Julie. You have to ask for it nicely."
"Nose please." She demanded, making Vince laugh as he gave it back to her. "Dank you."
"Thank you so much." Seth spoke softly, his free hand going to shake his boss'. Vince shook his hand with a smile, before gently poking Juliana's nose and opening the door.
"She was no trouble. Just try to keep a better hold on her."
"Trust me, sir, she's not leaving my sight again." He assured, carrying Juliana out and getting the hundred dollar bill out of his shirt. "I'm gonna put your money in my pocket to hang onto until your mom gets here, okay?"
"Kay." The two year old mumbled before her face changed. Seth knew the face she was making all too well, quietly assuring her that she could hold it for at least another minute so he could get her to a bathroom. "I gotta pee."
"I know, Julie. We're almost there." He assured, opening the door to the men's room and quickly covering her eyes when he saw Ryback and Rowan using the urinals. "Sorry guys. Emergency."
"By all means." Rowan assured, hearing the stall door shut and lock.
"Daddy it eat me."
"The toilet isn't going to eat you Juliana. I'll hold onto you." He assured as she pushed her pants and training underwear down before lifting her up. "Just relax, okay."
What the two men weren't expecting as they washed their hands was to hear the classic "Row Row Row Your Boat" being sung by both the toddler and their coworker as she worked on using the bathroom. It was cute, honestly, but they'd never admit that they had heard the cutest thing ever in the men's room.
"Daddy I peed!"
"You did! Way to go, Julie!" Seth praised, handing her toilet paper and looking away as she wiped herself. "Now we've gotta wash your hands."
"I get a treat?"
"Yeah, we'll get a good snack from catering and I'll see if there are any good toys in the merch stands." He assured as he helped her with her pants and unlocked the stall. "To the sink, little lady."
Dean walked into catering(the only place he hadn't looked) and was relieved to see Juliana sitting on Seth's lap eating fruit while Renee and Seth talked to each other. He got a plate of food that both he and his girlfriend enjoyed before joining them at the table.
"I see you found her."
"Yeah. Daniel lost her too." Seth informed as they older man sat down, taking a strawberry from the plate.
"You know Vince gave her a hundred dollar bill and stole her nose?" Renee asked her boyfriend, rolling her eyes when Dean shrugged.
"I'm sure Seth spent more on her in the last week."
"You're missing the point. He stole her nose, Dean."
"But he gave it back, so it's cool."
"You could be excited about it."
"Babe, I've been scouring the arena looking for those two. I'll be excited after I beat up Seth for not telling me that he had found her earlier." Dean spoke, running a hand through his hair as he glared at Seth. "ETA on Shay?"
"She's parking and should be here any minute now."
"Daddy I tired." The two year old mumbled, leaning back into Seth as she yawned. Both Renee and Dean grinned at Colby, knowing that he had been waiting for two months to hear Juliana call him daddy. It had finally happened and it was obvious that Seth had become more wrapped around her little finger(if that was even possible).
"You did a lot today, Julie." Seth spoke softly, fixing her ponytail before kissing the top of her head. Renee, who had been taking pictures of the duo since she sat down with them, took an expertly times picture of them and showed it to Seth, who grinned and requested that she send that one to him. "Mommy will be here soon, though. Do you want to stay up to see her?"
"No. I tired, daddy."
"Alright, Julie." He smiled, helping her adjust so that she was straddling him. Her little head crashed into his chest and Seth let out a small chuckle as Renee took yet another picture of them. "Have a good nap, little lady."
"What all did you do today?"
"We went to Toys R Us and then got breakfast, then Shay had a thing to do while we were in town so she left Juliana with me to go to the arena and then I lost her and then Daniel lost her and then I found her with Vince. We went pee and now we're here." Seth explained, rubbing the toddler's back as he saw his girlfriend look into the room. "Shay!"
The brunette smiled and made a beeline for the table, hugging Renee and Dean when they stood to greet her. She sat down where Renee was once sitting, since the blonde had moved to sit beside her boyfriend on the opposite side of the table. Seth greeted her with a chaste kiss on the lips and a small "hello", since it was all he could really do with Juliana on him.
"Is she out?" He asked quietly, watching as Shayla did their usual arm-drop test. Juliana didn't even budge, answering his question.
"She had a pretty big day. We used the big toilet."
"How'd that go?"
"She thought it was going to eat her." Seth informed with a laugh, loving the way his girlfriend giggled at the information. "She went though."
"That's good. We haven't had an accident all week."
Tired brown eyes watched as the two year old slept peacefully in their bed for the night. Shay was in the shower, trying to be quiet but he could hear her singing an all too familiar tune to the both of them. If he had to be honest, "Row Row Row Your Boat" never sounded lovelier than it did when his girls were signing it.
As he laid on the bed watching Juliana sleep, his mind was retracing their events of the day while he contemplated whether or not he should tell Shayla about him misplacing Juliana for almost half an hour. Dean told him to keep it to himself, knowing that Shay would probably be pissed and not wanting to risk his friend losing his family. Renee, on the other hand, told him to just tell her because it would be better coming from him instead of Juliana or one of his coworkers. Him admitting fault would sound way better than him being ratted out and he agreed with her. To an extent.
"What's got your gears turning, babe?" Shayla asked, joining him and her daughter in bed. Her head came to rest on his chest and she smiled at the way he wrapped his arms around her.
"I've got to be honest with you, Shay. I lost Juliana for a while today. Dean covered for me while I was looking for her, all because I let her go for a second to sign off on merch and she wandered away." He admitted quietly, preparing himself for the absolute worst out of his girlfriend. Hitting, yelling, leaving. He was mentally prepared for it all.
But it never came.
Instead she only smiled up at him and gently pat his chest, pleasantly surprising him by kissing him softly.
"I lost her in a shoe store when she was just starting to walk. Scariest twenty minutes of my life."
"You're telling me. My heart literally stopped when I looked down and saw that she wasn't right next to me."
"Yeah, but now you see why I was so worried about her being with you, right? It wasn't a doubt of your ability to watch her, it was doubt of her ability to stay beside you if you got busy." Shayla explained, gently massaging his cheeks the way he liked it.
"But I think we've reached a breakthrough."
"Yeah?"
"Yeah. She called me daddy today."
"Really? Just once or...?"
"After I found her with Vince it was the only thing she called me."
"Babe that's great." Shayla spoke with a smile, sitting up so she could peck his lips. Seth could only smile, kissing her again but this time with a bit more behind it. The look in his eyes told Shayla what he actually wanted, but her eyes drifted to her daughter while she bit her lip. "Bathroom?"
"Just don't sing 'Row Row Row Your Boat' this time, alright?" He teased, gently tickling her sides as he sat up with her.
