AN: So this is part of the Origins chapters. Today we meet the Bō-staff wielder, Kyra. Like most origin chapters, they are only to provide with a little more insight into this character and how she came to be. Kyra is a character that I wrote with a certain goal in mind, but I feel that I did not go in details of who 'she' is so I'll be making sure to add more about her personality in the story. Unfortunately I wrote this chapter to explain her birth but not so much who she is.

Setting up the new campground went on without a hitch. With their father out looking for Ryoko, it fell on to Rize to lead the others to an efficient work pace. Once all tasks had been completed everyone split up to clean up and later meet up at Gohan's living room. The only two people that opted out of that plan were Cerevak and Fuyu, for different reasons of course.

Krya, Zene, Chika, and Pan worked in the kitchen set up for the lunch hour, while the boys set up the table. Conveniently, Vanee had volunteered to let his mother and Videl know of their new hiding spot, even though no one had asked him to. In any case, the others could sense that Vanee would soon arrive and he was bringing their guests in tow.

"Think we should set up plates for the four that aren't here?" asked Rem. He was referring to the two troublemakers as well as their father and Ryoko.

Rize narrowed his eyes as he tried to sense his father and Ryoko but they seem stationary. He let out a gasp and he shook his head. "Cerevak and Fuyu can come to retrieve their food when they wish. As for our father, they seem immobile."

Rem nodded as he picked up the plates he had just set down and made his way to put the extras back. He almost dropped them when he heard the elevated voice of his brother.

"Twenty-two?!" Vasco yelled.

Rem quickly put down the plates as he and Rize turned their full attention to the kitchen in full alert. After sensing no immediate danger in the area they walked over to the kitchen to find all their siblings gobsmacked. The only person moving was Kyra stirring the large pot in front of her.

The auburn-haired twin walked over to his brother smacked him knocking him out of his stupor. "What's the big deal yelling like that?" his annoyance embedded into his voice. After a night like yesterday, no one could blame him for still being on edge and that little shout made every hair in his body stand.

Vasco was so unprepared for that strike that his forehead indented itself into the marble countertop by the kitchen. He rubbed his head before growling and turning around, his eyes were no longer jade but a very familiar teal. He was about to jump when he saw the imposing figure of Rize right behind. Their tall sibling's expression mirrored that of his twin's. Instead, he just rubbed his head once again and chuckled. "Krya tell them what you just told us."

The lavender-skinned beauty didn't even turn around as she spoke. "They were asking about my home planet."

"Right… you as well do not belong to this planet," Rize recalled from one of their earlier conversations. It had begun during their night watches; each sibling was so different as well as to pass the time, they began to ask each other questions about their universe and see where they differ. His heightened warrior's senses began to calm.

Kyra giggled, "They are having a hard time accepting the number of siblings that I have. In total, with myself included, we are twenty-three children."

"Woah" the tall marooned-haired warrior quietly let out. Being an only child himself, and their current predicament being his only experience with a sibling, this seemed even harder to grasp.

"Hey guys!" Erasa's bubbly voice alerted them of the arrival of Vanee.

Pan went over to hug her mother. While Videl quietly fretted over her many bruises, but Pan stopped any further inquiry by telling her that she will be fine just like Videl was after many of her fights. She turned to the others and spoke, "How about if you tell us your story over lunch Kyra?"

The amber-haired sibling shrugged her shoulder as she began moving the food over to the table. Zene and Chika followed her lead and started moving bowls to the center of the table. "Sure, but I do want to warn you, my time here has shown me that a lot of what my people find as normal is apparently unorthodox here."

"You mean like ogling people that you shouldn't be looking at," remarked Zene with a devious smile.

That small innuendo made Kyra momentarily lose grip of the bowl she was carrying while her whole head turns a bright red as her eyesight turn to Rem. The auburn-haired young adult was doing his best to look in any direction that wasn't towards Kyra while whistling a nonsensical tune. Momentarily an image of a shirtless Gohan crossed her mind from the morning she was doing guard duty with Rem.

"Ooooh," cooed Erasa as she took Zene's hands into her own. "There's a story here that I would love to hear." She batted her eyes at the blue-skinned warrior.

Zene laughed but she shook her head as she could see the pointed glare coming from her older sister. "I'm sorry but it's an inside joke," she said trying to diffuse the situation she started.

Not even the pout from Erasa was going to change her mind. Videl had to come and drag her best friend to the table. The others may have wanted to know, but it appeared Zene wasn't going to talk so they moved to the table to begin eating.

Her cheeks were still tinted red, but she began telling her story. "I believe from what I have gathered all of our stories seem to stem from our father leaving his home at one point. It's a different time period for each of us though. My story is no different. He has told us that it was supposed to be his last trip before he went to school; which has always perplexed us since you go to school as a child, but he was an adult when he landed on our planet."

"Oh, I can fill that one in," piped up Chika. "Grandma Chichi has always taken education very seriously," she stated flatly. "I can't tell you how many times I heard, 'You're going to one day inherit these kingdoms and how do plan to rule peacefully if you aren't a well-groomed leader.' From there it's an hour rant about what I could be doing better," she ended with sighed.

Chika rubbed her temple as she continued, "Anyways, my point is that my father used to tell me that growing up he was home-schooled. Something I gathered from my conversation with Pan and some of you guys is that in most universes my father was pressured to go to school when he was sixteen or seventeen. That didn't happen in mine, but my timeline is more of an anomaly. If your father was following that similar pattern timeline that could explain why he was so much older and only then about to go to school."

"Wait is that why Gohan just join us this year?" asked Videl. She had found it strange that Gohan would join their class this late when they had only a year left of school. He had told them that he had been home-schooled but it just added more to the mystery for her.

Pan responded, "Yeah. From what I heard it was to make more of an impression on the universities that my father would be applying to. He is a graduate of Orange Star. Plus growing up my father had to train for the evil forces that often came to threaten our planet and taking a leave of absence from school for training would probably not fly with the school administrators."

"In any case," Kyra retook the conversation. "He decided to fly out to space for a year before he had to go to school. I've never met Grandma Chichi until I came to this universe, but from what my father said it was a miracle that she even allowed him to take such a big leave.

"There were issues with the ship and he crashed landed on to our planet. One big thing that you have to understand about the people of our planet is that we have a big disproportionate ratio of males to females. Like a lot!" Kyra sighed taking time to eat before her sibling ate all of the food.

She continued, "By the last estimates, there is about one male for every twenty females on our planet."

That got some whistles from the twins and them asking in what direction was her planet. Rize took his long arm and hit both upside their heads at the same time ending their hollers. Vanee began to join them but a sharp pinch in his leg by Erasa and it ended before the words could leave his mouth.

Shaking her head from their immaturity she added, "The crash landing happened quite a distance from any population. By all sense it by the grace of the Kais that my father was found by my mother. Now my father, stubborn as he is, recalls that the injuries were minor and that he would have healed eventually, but my mother tells a different story. She speaks about how he was halfway between this realm and the next, not that my father will admit to that. Still, my mother devoted herself to healing him; after all, he was another male on a planet that was dying."

Chika had excused herself to bring the desert from the kitchen.

The lavender-skinned beauty continues speaking about how her mother healed her father while at the same time getting to know him. "My father wanted to go into the city to find parts for his ship, but my mother was completely opposed to that idea for two reasons. The first one is that if he was seen another member of our race could try to set claim to my father, and second, if he did find the parts then he would leave. Over time they shared healing him, she was beginning to like him. Again I can understand it was a little selfish of her and someone may argue that she only liked him for the simple fact that he was male, but my mother has told me that it was because my father treated her as an equal.

"Males on our planet have a very bloated ego because they essentially control which families live and which ones die. A strong lineage can come to a sudden halt and that leads some males to believe that they are superior and treat most of us as less," she spat out disgust. It's hard to think about that part of their history because her mother always told her stories of how some males would treat them with indifference and walk over them.

"My father was kind to her," she recalled. Trying to move away from the subject Kyra continued, "From what my father told me, he didn't have much experience with how to speak to the opposite gender but he liked speaking to my mother and he had a bit of crush on her. My mother would tell me how red in the face he would get when he would see her. You see by your standards, what I'm wearing is considered scantly." She was referring to the bronze top covering her well-endowed breast and a small bronze pleated skirt that did very little to cover. "However in my culture, this is considered very conservative attire. It not uncommon for our people to wear little to nothing, and my mother told me that was one of my father's hardest challenges to overcome especially seeing my mother every day with little to nothing."

There was a roar of laughter as each child imagined their father when he gets embarrassed. A beet-red Gohan who squirms in his seat. Even Erasa, who would at times do things to make Gohan wince, imagined Gohan going through that for months.

"He is better now from what you guys are imagining," interjected Kyra. "In any case, their little honeymoon came to an end when my aunt followed my mother and found who she was hiding. But it also kind of helped because my father and mother were just enjoying each other's presence but not really moving the needle. My aunt, however, was not going to waste time, which pushed my mom to move forward with my father. Let's be honest, our father isn't one to take the first step at times until he is beyond one hundred percent sure that the other persons feel the same way about him. This leads too many girls to just giving up or believe that he doesn't feel that way about them." A statement that garnered many nods and stories about how long some of her siblings' mothers waited before Gohan moved forward with them.

"Actually I think my father and mother started getting together after the next crisis," Pan claimed. "But you're right it took them a long time before they got together together."

Videl felt a little weird hearing some of these stories since they depicted her classmate in so many ways. It was even weirder Pan and Vanee told stories about their future since she was hearing about her future self. Still, she quietly listened and try to imagine the Videl they were talking about was another person who just happened to have the same name as her.

"Anyways," Kyra broke in, "they got together and my father decided it was time for him to explore the planet. My father's official introduction to our planet's civilization was a mess, to say the least. His kindness tended to lead a lot to follow him around and a lot of misinterpretation of his intentions. The funny thing is that he believed that by saying that he was together with my mother that it would make the girls that followed him disperse, but there was one thing he did not anticipate." She laughed as she recalled how her mother would tell her this story. "As I've stated before our culture is very different and because of the small number of males on the planet it is a well know fact among our people that we practice polygamy. It's the only way to ensure healthy amounts to children are produced for each generation.

"Bless my father's heart; he screamed that he was already dating my mother. The girls that had surrounded him just looked at him for a minute before one of them spoke and said, '…okay, so what.' My father was dumbstruck as he didn't know what to say next, left gapping like fish out of water," she recalled with tears of laughter in her eyes. "My mother had to come to save him from the mob as they went back to staking claim to him."

"She explained how their society worked and why she had been dreading his eventual introduction to their society. My father tried to convince my mother to look for the parts for his ship and they could both leave, but my mother didn't want to leave her home. It was around this time that my mother found out that she was pregnant with me. With me on the way and my mother not wanting to leave her home planet, my father had to make a decision. One that he stated was one of the most difficult decisions to make at the time, but he tells me how easy it has become over time; how happy he is today for making that decision to stay."

"So did your dad just stay with just your mom?" Vanee asked

"No actually," the lavender-skinned storyteller elaborated, "You guys hold monogamy really close don't you?" A rhetorical question as she continued, "It took a while but my mother had to explain many times this was just how things were done on our planet. That it was for the survival of their species and that it would be selfish of her and him to stay in a monogamous relationship. My father fought against this for a while, saying that this was an Earth custom, but my mother didn't want to betray her people. Plus she had seen how the males of the planet began to feel threatened by Gohan and began to change the way they interacted with females, for fear that their callous treatment of the females around them would push them towards Gohan and he would simply build the largest following of mates.

"However when Gohan publically stated that he would remain in a monogamous relationship, he in adversely embolden some to return to their previous behaviors. There was no more fear since Gohan was not going to take another mate." The conversations had slowly moved to the kitchen as most the boys were now washing the dishes, front and center was Vanee as he had disappeared before the set up of the meal.

She began wrapping up her story. "It was slow but he eventually took one new partner. That returned some of the pressure for many males to once again change their tune and as he took more partners and a new balance was formed. I don't think my mother really set out to change our culture or that she knew the effects of pushing my father to get a new partner, but it had a lasting effect. There is now a new shift in the way males act around females in our planet. My brothers, one of which is reaching the age to find a mate, will carry the torch that my father has been carrying. Between all of my father's partners, I have twenty-two siblings. It's why I don't mind you guys as step-siblings since I have many more back home.

AN: Plain and simple, I wanted to write a child that represents every single type of story that this site has on Gohan. There is definitely a lot of harem stories involving Gohan, so I wanted on child to represent those types of stories. Kyra is suppose to be their representative. Though most harem stories have kind of so-so reasons behind how the harem was even formed, so instead I wrote a story where Gohan travels to a place where it's normalized. He struggles with that change but has over time learned to accept these norms. I tried my best to explain why Gohan, the same shy kid we know, would actual accept; though I'm not sure if I succeeded.

A few more notes about Kyra that I did not add to the chapter:

1. She is 19 by Earth Standards. She is lavender-skinned, Saffron-eyed, and has amber curly hair. Her trait heavily influenced by her mother's race.

2. Due to the fact that she is Gohan's first daughter and that she has 22 other siblings, she grew up caring for her siblings as if they were her children as well. That did not stop her from always being by her father's side and learning all she could from him. Most of her training and her ability to transform came from her father's teaching. However her siblings also taught her to be kind, patient, and nurturing.

3. While her planet lives a relatively peaceful life; there have been occasion of unrest and invasion from a neighboring planet. This has led her to take up arms and never let her guard down against the possibility of invasion.

4. Her age to find a male has come but she does not find anyone worthy. Instead focusing her attention on her siblings and the protection of her planet. Suitor have come but she has stated only a person that is able to defeat her in their tournaments and take the Bō staff from her, she will consider.

5. The tournaments on their planet happens every 5 solar rotations. It is a sacred honor passed through generations to hold and use the Bō staff as part of their repertoire. It is said that the original staffs were gifted by the Kai's for their ancestor's devotion and sense of duty towards them. Some claim that they may even power up it's user as part of an enchantment by they Kais.

6. The tournament is divided among three branches: Young, Adolescent, and Adults. There are three staff on the planet with all three belonging to Gohan's family. Gohan hold the adult staff, Kyra holds the adolescent and a younger sibling of hers owns the third.

7. Gohan now lives on the planet. While his mother was furious initially, she calmed and eventually let him go when he told her that he had a child now. Though Chichi has stated that she will go out there to meet her grandchildren someday.

Dear Amanny,

Thank you so much.

Dear Guest,

Glad you liked the insight to Dekaido.

Dear W0lflink420,

Appreciate the words of encouragement.

Dear Ace Son,

Boy is it good to hear from you. I also took a long hiatus. That helped to a certain extent to re-calibrate and reassess from who I was back then. I'm sure in time you may return as well. If not then I'm sure you're doing other amazing things. Who knows I may PM one of these days to bounce off ideas like old times.
