Daunttris: Fanfiction Writer Extraordinaire

A/N: Hey guys, sorry I haven't updated in a while (school ugh!) but I'm back with the latest chapter, and I hope you like it! Review to tell me what you think!

- Daunttris

I hit post and wait for the sweet, satisfying whooshing sound that means my chapter has been uploaded. I lean back in my chair with my hands behind my head, feeling accomplished.

Finally it's summer, and that means, relaxing and writing, writing, writing. Speaking of writing... I sit up and head over to the message board. I find Maggie's username (magstheinitiate146) and send her a quick message.

Hey Mags, just posted the next chapter of "Just friends." Plz plz plz plz read it and tell me if it's good or not… Then get your butt over here so we can get our party on!

I add a winky face emoji and hit send. She replies almost immediately.

YAY! Just opened the link! P.S. Do you think I'll need my Swiss army knife?

I reply:

We're sleeping in my backyard not the middle of the woods! Dauntless up!

I send the message, than swivel around in my chair to admire the marvelous stack of camping supplies covering my bed.

Tonight we're having our big, annual, summer kick off sleepover. Every year we have a new theme. Last year was reverse Christmas (Christmas in the summertime) We bought each other presents and wore ugly Christmas sweater tank tops and Santa hats. This year, the theme is camping adventure. We wanted to take a road trip up North to the actual woods, but our parents practically lost it when we asked them.

Camping in the backyard will still be just as fun though. Besides at least this way we'll still have wifi.

The most important supply is, of course, the snacks. You cannot forget snacks. Chocolate cake, which we baked together yesterday, two family sized bags of BBQ chips, a box of Oreos, a two liter bottle of Mountain dew and four jumbo sized freezies in a cooler bag. (Two red ones for me, and two purple ones for Mags.) Then there are the sleeping bags, the pillows, and of course, pyjamas.

Yep, all of the ingredients needed to cook up the most EPIC sleepover ever.

My computer makes a little ding noise and I turn around to check it out.

You have one new message from magstheinitiate146.

I click on the blue message box with her username on it.

I LOVED IT! When are they going to kiss already, it's KILLING me! You are so talented Tris!

Yes! She likes it. I'm never happy with anything I write, until Maggie gives it her stamp of approval.

Thanks Mags! Now get a move on! The freezies are melting!

ON MY WAY! WOOHOOOOOOOOO!

Me and Maggie met through this website . We both love the Divergent trilogy and after I read some of her fics I couldn't help but tell her how much I absolutely loved her writing! Then she messaged me back to thank me and we haven't stopped speaking since. As it turned out she actually goes to my school and lives a few blocks away. Soon we were hanging out at school and everywhere else. Now I can't imagine my life without her.

A knock at the door shakes me from my thoughts. I hear footsteps heading to answer it.

I leap up from my chair and sprint down the stairs.

"I'll get it!" I scream shoving my older brother Caleb out of the way.

"Geez Beatrice." He says, rubbing his arm. I roll my eyes and ignore him as I throw open the door.

"Tris!" Maggie screams throwing her arms around my neck.

"Mags!"

"You guys saw each other twenty four hours ago." Caleb says and although I can't see him, I can tell he's giving us one of him classic, "you guys are ridiculous" looks.

Although he is only older than me by a few months Caleb acts as if he is years ahead of Maggie and I. There is no joking with Caleb, he believes everything in the world can be boiled down to cold, hard facts. I couldn't imagine living that way, not when the world is so full of beauty and adventure that can only be captured through the uncontrollable chaos and eloquence of language rather than impersonal numbers.

"And that's entirely twenty four hours to long," Maggie says walking into the house and nudging my brother with her hip.

Caleb rolls her eyes. "I'll be in my room. So don't come bother me," he says, before heading up stairs.

Caleb is just being moody. She really does like Maggie.

"Is she going to go talk to his girlfriend?" Maggie asks, making a kissy face.

"Probably. They haven't stopped talking to each other since he finished exams yesterday. Every time the phone rings it's always her on the other end."

Caleb's girlfriend's name is Susan. They met each other at a spring formal in tenth grade and started dating almost immediately. Afterwards Caleb could talk about was Susan, Susan, Susan. At first I thought he was being ridiculous, but then he brought her home with him at Christmas time, and she's actually really nice, and she's read Divergent, which earns her a special place in my heart. Still, Mags and I began to jokingly refer to the two of them as a married couple since they are so serious and pious.

"Ah love," Maggie sighs, "they're just like Four and Christina." She takes a graceful leap onto the stairs and leans dramatically against the banister as if feigning being struck by one of cupid's arrows.

"Yeah except for the fact that they really are dating and Four and Christina haven't even kissed yet."

"Ugh, don't even get me started. That's why things need to start moving in your story. I need some Tobina fluff."

I laugh, "Eventually. Although I hate that ship name. Tobina. It sounds like a kind of hummus."

"Yeah, it kind of does. I'll have some Tobina and crackers please. Speaking of food, I'm starving."

"Well my mom's ordering pizza, but not for a while."

"To the fridge!" she says striking a crazy pose.

I laugh and follow Maggie as she gallops towards the kitchen. She's over here all the time, so she knows where everything is.

I sit down at a stool around the island and let her do her thing. I decide to check up on my story and see if I have any reviews yet.

One so far.

OMG! Awesome chapter! Amazing writing! Kiss, kiss, kiss…

I check the username. Of course it's Maggie.

"Nice review," I say, glancing up from my phone, grinninng.

"Manth Foo," she says through a mouthful of food.

"Ready to go pitch the tent?" I ask, sliding down from the stool.

"Sure," Maggie says, cradling a box of fruit loops in her arms as if it were a baby.

While she heads outside I grab the tent from the hall closet.

As I exit the house and step into the heavy heat of the backyard I take a deep breath in and hold it, letting the warmth of the sweet summer air spread through my body.

"Tonight is going to be EPIC."
